6/02/41, Monday, [
2072]'s letter to EC:
Darling Eddie,
Yes, Eddie, I do know what you mean. The discouragement and
depression comes and you wish - oh how you wish! - there'd
be some LIGHT, something to lift all the discouragements and
worries. But, Eddie, you have tried to do too much the past
few weeks and have not taken time off to yourself to meditate
and be with God and to build and create in your mind some bit
of beauty. Want to try my little fixer-upper? I'm soon
seeing love, beauty, and happiness again if I fast or eat
VERY lightly and get off to myself and build something in my
imagination very sweet, happy, and full of love. And a
little secret - quite often I take along in my imagination
people I love very much. Yes - you're there, too, with the
messages you give through your own lips. - Things that have
made me come back to the Bible and love it with a new love.
Wish I could - when you feel so tired and discouraged - whisk
you away, up here, and give you quiet and peace and love and
let you enjoy our yard and music and our beautiful mother
just for a day or two. I wish you and Mrs. Cayce could come
up for - say a Saturday and Sunday. Couldn't you, Eddie,
after Congress is over? We'd love to have you. How good it
would be for you to take just a few days out for yourself.
Oh, I know how you long for beauty around you, yet I know,
too, physical labor is too much of a strain upon you. It
taxes your strength too greatly to work physically when you
give the readings. Be careful and rest lots, won't you
please, Eddie, you must not do too much of the physical even
if you cannot have all of the perfect yard and garden you
long for. The beauty must be partially sacrificed to the
psychic and spiritual, I'm afraid, for you. A kiss to you
on your forehead.
Eddie, [
1861] and I wondered if the people from Boston who
wanted the reading Monday the 23rd were folk who were going
to come down to Congress. If they are - if they're coming
as far and have to go back so far would you like to switch
our time with theirs. [
1861] thought we should do this; if
it would be more convenient for them, you may do so.
We'll need a recheck reading, too, both of us very soon and
will probably take one reading period together. There have
been no outstanding changes in [
1861]'s eyes recently - we
want to recheck and see if were doing enough for them and I
want to check on my spine and general condition and see what
more I got to do to "fitten" myself. I'd like a child to
have the influence and environment of mother, this dear old
house and yard and growth in this lovable little community
and I think I'd like to help a child who is born in and
influenced by the sign of Aries. [
1861] and I both being
Aries feel we could understand and help a little Aries very
much. So...I'd like to know if it can be this June or July,
or must I wait yet and work on the physical body some more.
I think will go straight on to the Beach Wednesday June 18th
and go back into Norfolk Thursday morning for treatments from
Dr. Richardson.
Eddie, I'm sending Eneres back, and for you and to tell you
always I love you. I've underlined something - just a few
little words - for you to pick up often and read and know
I love you.
Oh, we're looking forward to being with you again!
We will be at the Beach until Wednesday, the 25th, would it
be possible to also get our re-check physical readings at
this time? If not, could you give us an appointment for the
last of June or near the first of July? Realize you will be
rushed for readings, but would like to have one before the
middle of July if it will at all be possible - One period for
two of us will be sufficient I believe. But will sort of
leave that up to your mentors depending on the amount of
information they think necessary to give. If it is necessary
to give either or both of us full time we'd rather, and WILL,
pay for the FULL time.
Thank you, Eddie.
Lovingly, with kisses, [

6/05/41 EC's letter to [
2072]:
My "dear little Anna";-
Yours of the 2nd and the book came yesterday afternoon. Good
of you to send it - and thanks more than can ever tell you
for marking it as you did. Have read most all of the
markings - (and of course the blue line) that makes the book
about doubly personal, so when ever read it now it is like
having you look over my shoulder and make a comment now and
then. Reminds me of the days when we used to read stories
together, tho will have to admit they were not like these -
but even then most of our stories we would make them up our
selves.
You may be right - about physical work, yet, like to work
with saw and hammer. Some how can imagine myself nearer to
HIM when work with these tools at times. Am not so good, but
like the idea, and have me a little summer work shop now or
have it near complete. Have to get materials together, at
odd times and imagine myself ready to make something - tho
seldom know just what.
And do I know how you can build in your imagination - the
most wonderful builder in the world, am sure you are, Oh the
beautiful things have heard you build. What a wonderful
house we used to build - you see Mr. B. A. was building when
we first met, and that was what I guess started us off. How
many lovely walks with all the lovely fruit and vegetables we
had planned out. Yes, you are indeed a "Little builder
up er" - and honestly thank you, for your suggestion - but
have to say "little Anna" the old days come so easily when
read your letters - can just feel those days - over and
over again.
Thank you - if have made you come back to the BOOK - well
am amply repaid for every thought have given. Now mean that
just right, for know you have never been far from it, but it
is the most marvelous book ever put together.
Would be heavenly to enjoy that lovely yard - think will have
to steal away some day after the congress and spend a day or
so with you and [
1861] - won't get in the way much if you
will take me in.
Just heard from the lady in Boston - she is having her
reading before the Congress so that won't bother - so will
give you the whole day Monday the 23rd if you like and that
is Mother's Birthday. Think can get the check for each of
you at the same time - will see any way, and if it has too
much to say, will tell you so and we can take it again.
That is the loveliest complement ever heard any one pay
another - wishing their child to have the environment of
another. Am sure you are quite right for there must be MUCH
love in that home.
Will be happy to see you both when ever you can come - and
do hope you will make this place your staying place. Where
ever you may choose to sleep will be happy to have you use
this office as your very own - for you will hallow it for me
by your very presence here - so hope you find the vibrations
very congenial and lovely, tho am sure it will be much better
by your being in same. So am asking that you do that for me
won't you???
For the Book and marking it - could never say enough for
that. Now - can only say Thank You - God Bless you for it.
You don't know how much it means to me, and will always find
help and strength in those blue lines - and I love you and
will help me to keep you very near me.
Have a lot of work to do - letters about appointments and
the like and folks asking about the meetings so will ring
off for a time. Thanks again and with love and kisses.
Love to [
1861], Eddie
6/11/41, Wednesday, [
2072]'s letter to EC:
Dearest Eddie,
Thank you for your sweet letter and for the Monday for our
readings.
Sunday we had company all day and I couldn't get a letter off
to you, and today we went to ... to buy some of the little
finishing touches - curtains, linoleum, etc. - for our home.
The cabinet sink came at last, and was installed last Friday.
It's a beautiful and convenient piece and I've had more joy
hovering over it and working at it - really!
Oh, Eddie, if you only will come - "steal away" - for a few
days or a week and come and visit us after Congress. We want
you to so - and of course you wouldn't get in our way, or
rather think it would be kinda nice if you did, though.
Wouldn't mind it one bit.
I'm glad the book can link us together now whenever you wish.
I marked my own copy just like yours. I'll bet too, we did
make some of the nicest and grandest stories to suit our
little imaginations ever anyone could. I'll bet on that!
The little workshop must be a delight to you. I used to love
to watch my father work in his shop when I was small and then
when we left him in Indiana to come to California (my
brother, aunt, and grandmother & I), I didn't lose my
interest in men's workshops, for my brother, 9 years older
than myself, had his workshop in the garage and did his art
work, building and constructing of window displays,
backgrounds and advertisements there, and many a night I'd
watch and work with him. I'd rather watch and learn and
work with my hands than talk anytime.
The Congress Program came today and it certainly looks
interesting. I think it truly will be a lovely meeting and
am looking forward, with the greatest of eagerness, to being
there once more with you, Eddie.
Your Mother's birthday for the reading - I hope many
blessings may come to both of you and her for it! Thank
you. I love her because she gave us you.
Yes, Eddie, there is MUCH Love in this home - with Harmony,
Gentleness, Kindness and Peace. I am blessed, I know. It
is like Eneres' book in its sweetness, and I do want you to
come here soon and know it too. [
1861] and I have never had
a cross word and we even think alike about everything.
Eddie, I was wondering the other day if you have ever taken
a spiritual and mental reading on yourself. If you have, may
I read it sometime, please, if it isn't asking too much and
if you wouldn't mind. Was just re-reading the words in your
Life Reading yesterday so I could understand better "One
spending much of the energies to whatever undertaken" and how
true it is in your manner of doing things.
Well, love to you, and kisses, [
2072]
6/13/41 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072] and [
1861]
Don't know whether this is exactly like me or not - but guess
it must be, "little Anna" where you are concerned, tho have
the word while you will be here a day or so after this
reaches you, yet some way just wish to write. Glad to have
yours of the 11th - sounds so like your self, enjoying the
cabinet, and am sure you do get real pleasure out of same.
The conveniences now adays are wonderful, and some times
wonder if man - is as appreciative as he should be for all
the Goodness God has wrought in his behalf. Some are I guess
and some are not, human nature hasn't changed much, we are
still saying "the woman thou gavest me she persuaded me." Of
course not the same words, perhaps, but in the spirit of that
as prompted that saying.
Yes - my intentions are good - and will surely give myself
that great pleasure - if the Lord is willing, don't know of
anything that could be nicer, than being with you and [
1861]
and in that lovely home, where harmony rules - the Peace and
quiet there must be lovely. Well where you are it is always
lovely am sure.
Scarcely a day that don't pick up the Book and read a line
or so - there seem to be so few books that I can read, have
oft wondered just why, just now and then do I come across
such. O I read a magazine occasionally - scan the papers and
a few monthlys and the like, but seldom a real book like so
many do. Am not bragging about it - rather lamenting the
fact - for am sure so may get real help in such but THE OLD
BOOK if I find the time seems to answer all questions - and
hunt there for it.
Have always wanted a workshop, it usually winds up in being
used for something else, possibly this won't - while it can
only be a summer place like it and am sure will get a lot of
pleasure out of it - have about gotten it arranged - except
for a few more tools hope to have some day. You would like
to look on - in a workshop, and help also. You could always
be the best little advisor that I ever knew.
Think we should have a good meeting next week - tho haven't
heard just who or how many are coming this time, at times is
a bit disturbing - but know must leave it in HIS hands and
those will come that may be a help one to the other. Dreamed
of you the other evening, a very lovely pleasant dream -
included your Mother as I knew and my Mother also, feel it
was blessing on giving you and [
1861], Mother's birthday,
don't think I am a particularly observer of days - but there
are a few through the year seem to just naturally remember.
My own birthday - others remind me of that - 18th of Mar.
10th of May when you and I well can never forget that.
23rd of June Mother's birthday - 8th of June day my
Grand-Father was drowned, and was only one with him - 8th
of Aug., day my Grand-Mother passed over, was alone with her
at the time, the conversion - can never forget 26th of Oct.
- when my own Mother passed on - alone with her. Guess tho
you see several seem separation - yet - realize they were
periods of changes - definite changes in this experience of
life.
No - have never undertaken a Spiritual and Mental reading
for myself. There has been so much Spiritual advise given
in each reading for me, have never undertaken one alone.
Might - yes - am sure should do that. Now, that am reminded
of same - will be glad for you to have a copy tho when do.
Have a lot to do tho - so must run along - tho think could
spend most of the morning rambling on and on - possibly
saying little but thinking a lot.
See you next week - be here Wed. afternoon for Prayer group
reading??
Love to each of you, and a big kiss
Eddie [signed] Edgar Cayce
