2/10/42 (Tuesday Evening) [
2072]'s letter to EC:
Dearest Eddie,
Yours are the nicest letters in all the world; do you know
that? Little Del (she and her mother are here for a few
days) brought your letter up this morning. I was kind of
looking for - should I say - hoping for? a letter from you
this morning and then her happy bright little face delivering
it. Wish you could see Del - for some reason, when she's
around I feel like "little Anna's" following me around.
I don't know why I should feel that way. She's such an
adorable child. I love to have her around and she's always
wanting to help do everything around the house; altho she
really can't help a great deal, it's fun watching her grow.
Why, you give of yourself each time we're with you, Eddie,
things that are so deep, and sacred and lovely. We could
just as well be the selfish ones in wanting you all to
ourselves; and if it were not that we all gained spiritually,
which makes us better able to give to others, - so, I don't
think any of us need condemn ourselves. Let's don't, it's an
ugly feeling, but let's just give and take everything lovely
we can from any and all of our companionships.
You know, I think I'm becoming more "normal", as the physical
reading told me that was what was needed. And I think
readings and you are about the best normalizers I know of.
I feel like I've gained a whole new and correct concept of
life! How many assurances we do have to put our trust and
love into, knowing these things we have been so sweetly and
beautifully given! And it means so much more when you have
someone knowing and believing with you.
The prayer and the reading was so very, very lovely, Eddie.
I would say that as one uses it they begin to understand and
appreciate its lovely simplicity. Many can, with quantities
and long words, say little, but few can, with few and
simple words, say so much. That is how the simpleness and
directness of the prayer impresses me. We like it and we
join with you daily in using it. God asks mighty little of
us - simply receptiveness to his guidance and thanks to Him
for our day - yet were we but to do these two things with the
sincerity such as yours - we will have done much.
Believe what Mrs. [
1770] said, won't you, and more -
everything your heart tells you. It knows a very great deal
if you'll listen closely.
If you promise it won't interfere with your coming here
to visit if you can at any time I'll tell you something -
promise now! [
1861] says we might (if it will work out) make
our next trip a weekend one - stay at the beach and go to
Sunday School and see you as much as is possible with you.
But if you can get away at any time, we want you to come
on, regardless of that.
Oh, I wish I could be with you a lot! I think you could
help me to grow very much, psychically. Thank you for the
suggestion of imaging a lighted candle back of the purple.
If I could ever be alone with just you beside me I think I
could attain a psychic state similar to your own. It might
be, thru love hypnosis, anyway.
Well, now, by promise, I must go to work on this chart. It's
such a limited thing, Eddie, I don't like it. My faith and
trust just won't go out to it like it will to your readings.
The readings prove themselves, but astrology is a mere guess
based on nothing too certain. God doesn't guess.
I think I will still accept "the forces" date for the Great
Pyramid.
True, of course, you are a founder and leader in your work,
and more, I think you'll continue it in your next life. I
hope so!
Next, I think Uranus can and does and has affected. True,
you may have simply taken up your old coat of psychism from
past lives but I still feel it is somewhat "voluntarily
directed evolution" (you are BEYOND much of what these
laws (?) of astrology say and hence they can not even be
correctly called upon or applied in your case, I feel).
"The true occultism hovers around...but does not enter his
life in its full force": Your subconscious has fully and
truly entered into the spiritual. Occultism seems to him
(Mr. McDermott) the one Supreme; it blocks his vision. What
need you bring occultism in "in full force," if you can
accomplish the spiritual results. I don't believe he
analyzes the position correctly because he can only base his
analysis on what he has read or studied - it is too narrow
and limited.
Yes, you are gathering past fruits, BUT as long as one is a
child of God with FREE WILL, and LIVING, how in God's name is
it possible to avoid using them?
So that we are daily growing, and by every act we are either
growing SPIRITUALLY or DETERIORATING. Ah, the spiritual
will, yes! it has taken supersedance over your own
regardless of your Sun, I think. And, oh, Eddie, your Sunday
School work, your Bible study class, your Glad Helpers Group,
your prayers, and all these things that have been started
and helped by you - stimulated and assisted by your own
free will and effort. How COULD it be, then, there is no
"self-generated effort"? I think Mr. McDermott knows very
little of the laws of Karma and free will. The very fact
that you stimulate spiritual growth in all of us who come
in contact with you is helping your own growth.
I wish he would come meet you, and I think he might go back
wondering about the astrological analysis.
I wonder if maybe the House of Psychic Forces from the past
being fully tenated 30 minutes earlier did not really affect
you, because it seems to me the Subconscious mind is EXACTLY
the source of your powers.
Humility, reverence, deference - yes! and by all means the
readings point out those "priestly positions in the past."
Certainly you are helping us all along the great Path
of Universal Love; and there are, too, the "personal
considerations in love." Certainly where love and
understanding is returned you can give much more. Where
there is misunderstanding by others it blocks what you might
give them through their own fault alone. But I don't believe
I have ever seen you hate a fellow man regardless of his
attitude toward you.
As for the rest - "a disciple of the path of lunar
initiation" - I don't know. Perhaps so. It is not
improbable. When one goes into this, too little is known by
we poor creeping critters. I'd say God only would have all
the records and know.
As a whole, I'm not satisfied with it. But, love to you,
and, for just now, I must close.

2/13/42 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072] - Little Anna;-
Thanks for yours of the 10th - glad that I can at least write
to some one who things my efforts are not too bad, but of
course feel differently toward you and [
1861] to any other
people in the world, might sound funny, yet is true and am
sure you both know why. Would like very much to meet the
young lady if she reminds you of what little Anna must have
been like - and little Anna I believe grows more real each
day - only when am with you do you take form in any other
way in my mind - but it is always little Anna grown up.
Glad you understand what I mean, but you both mean so much to
me - and little Anna is so real - well just hope don't ever
make [
1861] jealous, and some how feel had it been any other
way round, that might have happened, but he understood then,
and hope he always does now.
Good - glad to know you feel better for as the normal
activities of you physical are manifested, but the
corrections then the better you will feel every way am sure
and as we get a broader view of LIFE and its principles in
the Earth greater is the real joy of living that I may have
added to this phase of your experience is of course pleasing
to me, and a hopeful feeling that Mr. McDermott is wrong when
he says I am doing nothing of a spiritual nature this time.
Thanks for your opinion on the prayer - as said to you and
[
1861] personally was at first a bit disappointed, but when
had studied the information and heard from several others
who I feel should know about such things, have come to the
conclusion that you are about right, there is much food for
thought, and the knowledge of the Lord is so simple most of
us overlook the privileges and the opportunities we have in
rally knowing him, am in hopes there will be a real response
in this undertaking and feel that much will be accomplished
in same not for the material gain but the spiritual growth
as may be the experience of all who give it a real honest to
goodness try in their experience.
Have often thought of what Mrs. [
1770] said, and all ways
have a feeling of elation, yet that doesn't express it either
more the feeling of assurance that there was a something as
made you realize you had contacted something that had meant
much to you and it is that sort of expectant elation if you
what what I mean, and will hold to that thought with all
the other assurances you have given me since. So a fact is
realized, there is a continuity of Life, a proof that to self
at least can not be denied - know it is not a proof to any
one else, yet should it seems to me to be such positive proof
to we three, wonder what can and will come of it, tho realize
it is what we do with it as to how it will grow, a seed is a
fact, it can grow and bear fruit, so may a weed by same and
decrease the fruitfulness of the good seed, and eventually
destroy it altogether. So have we a seed of truth or a weed
of doubt??
Would be lovely to have you here at the Beach over the week
end, and if Mrs. C. hasn't rented her vacant room would you
come spend the time with us here, might have to bunk you in
separate rooms but if you wouldn't mind would be mightily
pleased to have you, and we would have more time to talk
and mull over things. Sure I intend to come the very first
opportunity, the very first time can get a week end with out
having appointments on Sat. and Sunday.
If you will put the purple over a cardboard with hole in same
and really put the small lighted candle behind same will help
am sure, wish we might try some meditations together. Oh
possibly we will some time - had a funny dream of you last
evening - caused possibly by what you said about Little Del
- but dreamed she was one of the little folks we used to
talk and play with years ago. Found it out in a reading
[See
294-128, Par. 9-A], will tell you about it when see you.
Thanks very much for your analysis of the chart - very nice
to have someones opinion you think a great deal of to agree
with you, but knowing people and the like makes me feel like
I do regard the chart readings - just hope I am not
egotistical and self sufficient in my opinions, but feel you
have given about the correct way of thinking about this
chart. Seems to me the Astrologer has the wrong concept of
Creation. From the Bible I gather the universe was made for
man's inhabitant [habitation?] in all his phases of evolution
and stages of consciousnesses the Stars, Planets and systems
were made for this Spirit of man to manifest in and for he to
rule, not these stars planets or like rule him. They are for
"Signs seasons years" true but being born under such and such
a sign then indicates what man did about his opportunities,
not what the signs will do to him. To me there is a vast
difference.
I do believe the work have done am doing should show some
attempt at least to be Spiritual minded. If it doesn't do
not know what would, and am persuaded the TRY is counted by
God for righteousness. It was of old - and HE has not
changed.
Thanks again and again for your taking the time to write me
as you have. Hope to see you soon - trust you are both very
well feeling fine and will come stay with us when you come
down.
With love and a kiss, Eddie [signed] Edgar Cayce
2/22/42 (Sunday, Washington's Birthday) [
2072]'s letter to
EC:
Dearest Eddie,
Thank you for your nice letter and all the nice things it
contained.
How interesting the dream about little Del being one of
the "little folk" we played with. If ever I got another
reading on my "lives" I want to ask among other such
similar questions if I have ever known Del before.
And, Eddie, do you suppose it would be possible for you to
give me my aura chart reading on the Sunday when we come down
for the week-end? Was my drawing of [
288]'s chart [
288-50]
satisfactory enough to merit the fulfillment of the promise?
As far as we know now we will be down Saturday evening March
7th and go into Norfolk early Monday morning for treatments.
It is nice of you to offer to let us stay at your home.
Felt almost as though that will put Mrs. Cayce to too much
trouble, though, so don't feel that you should do this.
Maybe we'd better stay at the Essex House or somewhere
close by. We'd feel more as though we weren't imposing.
So far haven't been able to find the purple for the
meditation experiment. Tried with a candle and a pastel
purple circle, which is too light; and tried closing my
eyes and holding in imagination a candle-light back of deep
purple for a period of time. I haven't given up and am still
experimenting, though would you say a candle about the size
of a Xmas tree candle, or, a birthday cake candle? Is a
table candle too large, do you suppose? Eddie, have you ever
experimented with this since we used to use it, and wasn't it
the "little folk" themselves told us this way?
We have had cold, crisp invigorating weather lately and I
suppose yours has been much the same.
I was thinking over the fact the other day that my favorite
church hymnal of childhood days was "The little Church in the
Wildwood" and couldn't help but connect my love of that song
with Eddie and Little Anna. I KNOW the meaning for that
love of it lies there; but whether it is anything more than
a subconscious remembrance of similarity in places where we
used to play or not - maybe you can help me clarify it. Did
we ever go to church together or was there a church nearby?
Your Sunday School Class sang this song one time when we were
down there and I actually felt all over again the joy it used
to give me in the United Brethren Church in ..., Indiana and
I hadn't sung it since I left there in 1921.
Love to you, Eddie and our regards to Mrs. Cayce and Gladys.
Eddie - please,
Little Anna
2/25/42 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072]
Tho am sure the first part of this should be addressed to
"little Anna" for had a very unusual dream of you last night
or this morning. Dreamed you, [
1861], and I had gone to Ky.
- to the old home place, while it was all changed, but was
describing it all to you and [
1861] - when as if time turned
back and [
1861] exclaimed - "OH every thing is as it was, how
can that be, is this real, what has happened to us all - do
we imagine this is so - what has happened to others, do they
see as we do or not?" And everything was as it was when
[
1861] was building the home, and you and I were playing with
the little folks at the hay rick. Wasn't that a funny one.
Almost as an answer to the other dream, am sure little Del
must have been among our playmates, certainly would like to
meet and talk with her.
Will try and arrange it so as to give your Aura-Chart reading
[
288-50] the Sunday you are here - do you wish any of the
group to be present or just we here at home. Oh yes think
your drawing was beautiful, a little different from that made
by Miss Wynne to be sure but equally as pretty or better,
some of these are very lovely. Especially Gertrude's is the
prettiest yet.
Will be very glad to have you here, unless the room is taken
or something of kind, and doesn't look as if it would be,
and assure you would make you both just home folks, if you
wouldn't mind, so when you come come on out here if you will.
Believe if you would fix your purple over a card board even
if you made it some two or three thicknesses - have cardboard
with hole in same, then the small candle is the better I
believe, this was given some one in a reading long long ago
never saw but the one fixed and it was like that, never sat
but the once with same - for me there seemed too much to
enter the room - might have been the persons or the form
for me, but will tell you about it when see you.
Yes - we used it when we used to play together, do not know
that it was the little folk who told us, or was just chance
- but we used it first to play house for we always played
we were keeping house together - we were the little home
builders right.
Was sick last weekend. Glad you didn't come then. Came
near having pneumonia - and you know what that means - my
how vivid the picture of you comes back at times - most
weep, when let myself loose, so just can't do that too much.
Have to laugh, as to the "Little Church". Well, just wish
could take you there where we went to church - it is just the
ideal little church in the wildwood or was more those days
than now, but the old Church still stands and do hope you
may one day see that.
The school where we went was just across the road from the
Church. We played in the Church yard and the wood around
same, and there were more pretty Violets in that wood -
they must still be your favorite flower - for they were then
and many the day you had your little arms full of them -
literally, will tell you something of them when you are
here this time.
Must go tho now, have a lot of work to do today as have been
out for several days.
Looking forward to seeing you both on the 7th.
With love and kisses eddie
3/01/42 (Sunday) [
2072]'s letter to EC:
Dearest Eddie,
I have waited to write you as something came up which will
cause a slight change in our plans. We are coming to Norfolk
Friday (6th) for treatments instead of staying over for a
Monday treatment, and, if we still may, will come on down to
the beach Friday late and stay Saturday and Sunday. [
1861]'s
college classes are to be dispersed, beginning Friday, as
the Glee Club is going on tour to sing in other cities,
until Tuesday.
Thank you, Eddie, for wanting us to stay there. If our new
plans don't interfere and if you still have room nothing
could be lovelier than to be with you - all a day or two as
"home folks". It would be the nicest honor ever to be just
one of you - we wouldn't mind, indeed, we'd love it! But if
this doesn't work out we will stay at the hotel or something.
We sincerely hope you are very, very much better. Sorry you
were so very ill.
The dream - what a nice one! Wish it could come true.
Wouldn't it be fun to slip back and forth from here to there
and there to here whenever we wanted to? 'Cause I love you
NOW too, and now that I know you now as you are I'd want you
partly this way, too, (but maybe MOSTLY that way of THEN).
How I'd love it if you could give the aura-chart reading wile
we're there. And certainly if any of the others wold like to
hear it they may. I don't want to be selfish, for I know how
I grow by and love to hear other's readings. So you may ask
any whom you choose.
I liked your telling me about the little church and violets.
I'd rather have violets than any other flowers I know of to
this day.
[
1861] is waiting to carry this letter to mail so I'll close
for now.
See you very soon, with Love, [

3/09/42 (Monday) [
2072]'s letter to EC:
Dearest Eddie,
There's a special thank you in both of our hearts to you and
for you. That was the nicest and pleasantest two days, and
we're indeed grateful for your having given us so much of
your time and self. I never cease thanking God for you but
moments like those we have had intensify that thankfulness at
times.
Thank you, too, for my aura chart [2072-7]. I appreciate
your giving it more than I can find words to say.
I guess you know there isn't anything we like or look forward
to so much as just sitting down and having you tell of your
experiences. Then the next best thing is to read something
you have said, either persoanlly, or, as a channel for the
Forces.
Next thing would be to have you here a few days. Please
HASTEN those days and come soon.
It is getting late. I won't write more tonight, but did want
to let you know how much happiness it gave us to be with you
awhile.
With kisses, [...] - Anna
3/11/42 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072]
Thanks for yours of the 9th - have thought of you and [
1861]
a lot since you were here, hard to realize whether the visit
was from [
2072] and [
1861] or from Little Anna and Barney.
The more often I am with you the more am so sure of the past
- well makes me live in sort of a dream world. Felt bad
about not walking up with you to the station, glad you had
nice trip in and was more convenient that you had gone on the
Bus. Hope you had nice trip home and neither of you too cold
from getting damp. Has been blustery here ever since you
were here, but is very pretty out today and not so cold as
has been.
Glad you enjoyed your little stay here - was a real joy
and pleasure to have you, and hope you can come back again
before very long. Do wish to make the trip to ..., several
there would like to meet and then do enjoy being with you and
[
1861].
Will be anxious to see your chart all fixed up - just hope
it brings you a world of pleasure and is a source of help and
guidance - and possibly you will get a bit of the joy it was
for me to try and be of a help for you.
Been a long time since have had any thing that was as much
pleasure as having you here - makes me think of the times we
had together - the Hay Rick - Barn on the island, at Circus
and one or two days at school, and just lose myself in
dreaming when allow myself to dream like that - and wish
to have you all to myself again as then.
But write again soon, love to each of you
With a big kiss eddie
3/17/42 (Tuesday) [
2072]'s letter to EC:
Dearest Eddie,
Happy Birthday! and altho we may not be there in person to
wish it with the others, we can't help but think of you and
hope you shall have a very happy birthday.
I'm sending you some kisses I made for your birthday. I hope
they will get to you alright and that you will like them,
but they are such delicate, ephemeral morsels I can only hope
that a prayer may help them get there somewhat whole. Don't
know what sort of travellers they are! (I might suggest that
if they are badly crumbled, they're good tossed on top of
home-made ice cream at the last moment before its served.)
Let me know how they arrive, please, won't you.
We've talked and reminisced often this past week over
experiences you told us about last week end. How we did
enjoy every moment with you, and I sometimes come away
from you wondering & full of thought.
The story of Wallace [EC's dog] far surpasses any dog story
I have ever read. Have you ever wished he'd reincarnate and
come back to you?
I think you could help me with something on the aura chart
[2072-7]. Remember the three faeries were to represent love,
hope and faith. The love fairy could be represented with a
trifle more rose predominating in its coloring, couldn't it?
But what color are (1) hope and (2) faith?
Another thing, do you have extra copies of the 16 readings on
the verses of Revelation [[
281] series]? If so, we'll send
you the money for them and would like for you to send them to
us.
Where is Dr. Ketchum? Is he in California somewhere? We've
forgotten the city.
You may have by now heard from Mrs. [
2716] for she was very
much interested and delighted to be able to get a reading.
I venture to say it will be an interesting reading and the
answering of several of her questions will mean a great deal
to her, I know. She is a sincere and unselfish person.
I must close now so [
1861] can mail this as he goes downtown.
Love and kisses [
2072]
3/19/42 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072]
Was very lovely of you to send such a lovely box of kisses.
They are lovely and very very fine and arrived in excellent
shape. Thanks so much. Wish you might have been here
Tuesday night - Tuesday is the regular meeting night for the
Bible group, and as many would not want to make two trips
so close some decided to surprise me and come Tuesday so I
surprised them and had the lesson that night also. Oh there
was a big crowd about 65 I believe were here, and plenty of
eats. To much of that am afraid as haven't been feeling so
good in that way since, ate something as didn't set well with
me.
Was so lovely having you and [
1861] here for the week end.
Wish it might be for several weeks instead of just week end.
Maybe we could get talked all out, tho think never would run
out of stories at least and then might give you a chance to
talk some, but think of you only as "little Anna" and rarely
think of you even when with you as [
2072]. Am sure am all
wrong in doing that but how can I help it - maybe if would
stop and listen a bit would know and realize it - but guess
that is the selfish streak in me.
You should take the story about Wallace and make a good story
about him, think you could illustrate it so it might be a
real Saga of a dog.
Should think in coloring the faeries - one would be more
golden - the other more silver - and the other more blue
with lots of color of course in each, but those colors
predominating for each - don't you think so - what faeries
have see are like that, tho do not know them by name or do
I know which would be which even if you used this idea. But
what do you think of that idea?
Miss Gladys says tell you she will get the Rev. readings
to you, she will see what there is on hand and make more of
those that she has copies already of. Dr. W. H. Ketchum is
in Palo Alto, Cal. Do not know his street address.
Haven't heard from Mrs. [
2716] as yet, will be on the look
out and will be glad to try and help.
Have had a few days like spring - but is March again today
here and right cool. Don't feel good either, so better ring
off before get to feeling sorry for myself.
With lots of love to each of you eddie

Dearest [
2072]:
Time seems to run on and on and haven't been able or felt
able to get away as yet, but will if the Lord is willing.
Don't guess can make it now before hope to have you all with
us again but will, the Congress may be short this year owing
to tire and Gas situation but felt we had to have the meeting
any way so will have it the
19-20 and 21st of June, do hope
you and [
1861] will plan to be here again, we have so much
stirring about this month, may be hard for all to get in
humor as E. E. marries on the 13th. That will be just a week
before. So it goes but will be looking for you to be here
for sure.
Suspect you were glad to have Mrs. [...] back even tho all
went well. Glad she had nice trip and is feeling better.
Del must be a very cute child - reminds me of what a young
lady said to me one day in Montgomery a few years ago, was
having dinner with them, and after dinner she said - "Mr.
C. would you like to see my attempt at raising roses.
Would love to have my roses meet you."
The rain has been nice - my garden is very late but is
looking up a bit now. Have just gotten it all worked
out. After the rain should grow a bit now.
My roses are beautiful just now and such a quantity of them
for so small a place this year. We are expecting the book -
A Search For God - most any day now. They promised it by the
5th, but as with most publishers something has held them up.
Think you will like it - will Autograph a copy for you if you
like.
Certainly will see you all on the 27th if nothing happens
to prevent. Seems so long since saw you - heard from Mrs.
[
1770] yesterday. She was asking about you two. Heard some
one else mention about the picture of Leslie Howard in Mister
V. Don't think it has been here as yet, but don't go to the
pictures near as much as used to - guess it is a habit.
But haven't liked so much war - the way it has been
presented.
Speaking of Archeology, when Mrs. Chisholm [Louise B.
Chisholm] was last here she brought us a piece. It is
a copy of Nefertiti. Has quite a story behind it and is
a very beautiful figure - bust - an Egyptian piece was
the Mother-in-law of king Tut. Feel sure you will enjoy
seeing it if you haven't already.
Thanks again for letting us hear - do hope to see you on the
27th and be sure and be here on the
19-20 and 21st of June.
With love to each of you eddie

Dear Eddie,
Yes you may count on us for Congress. We've been planning on
that for some time - well, I guess since the last Congress.
That's our anniversary celebration and the anniversary of the
first seeing you and there's nothing so nice as being with
you again at that time.
And we would like at the time we are there at this time to
get a re-check life reading for [
1861]. Would it be possible
to get it on Monday following Congress; and then if not
possible on that day, on Tuesday; unless you might be
able to give him one during Congress?

solidified tears shed by the fairies when an angel brought
them word of Christ's crucifixion.]
I thought you might like to have this clipping on the "fairy
stones" of Patrick County. Had you ever heard of them? It's
a pretty little legend, isn't it and who knows but it might
be true!
Edgar Evans getting married! It must give you much pride to
have helped the growth of two such splendid sons (entities)
as Hugh Lynn and Edgar Evans.
My letter will be short tonight as we will be looking forward
to a longer talk Wednesday night, the 27th, with you. We'll
be down then.
I like the "would like to have my roses meet you."
Thank you - we would indeed like to have our copy of "A
Search for God" autographed. Will be looking forward to
that!
May I have a big hug and kiss?
Goodnight and love, [

5/28/42 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072]
Was sorely disappointed at not being able to get in to see
you and [
1861] last evening, but never felt much worse, and
had to have the Dr. with me before the evening was over, am
both up and down this morning feel out of pain but certainly
feel very rotten. Thanks for the clipping about the Fairy
stones - that is a very lovely legend.
Hope we have a lovely meeting this year - and feel that well
will - certainly hate to think of not seeing you all before
that time but will be glad to see you then. Yes - as said
have made the appointment for the check Life reading for
[
1861] for the morning of the 22nd - that is the Monday
after Congress. Hope that will be all OK.
Mrs. Cayce is all agog trying to get ready for the wedding
- believe she is unconsciously making even more preparations
for this wedding than H. L.'s but then he is her baby,
and guess one can't help it - this is rather an unusual
combination each of them are the baby in the family - and
it is the first and only sweetheart of each.
Am sorry to have missed you last evening - hope you both had
good treatments and are feeling fine. All my loss but just
could not make it.
With love to you both.
A hug and kiss for little Anna
Eddie
5/31/42 Mrs. [
2072]'s letter ends with this paragraph: "Know
anything that is a remedy for hives? I've been sitting here
with them tormenting me all evening - four or five big bumps
and they've been with me now three days and seem to be no
less itchy."
6/02/42 EC's letter to [
2072]:
Dear [
2072]
Thanks for yours of the 31st - am only beginning to feel
better much had rather strenuous week end as people were down
from Friday until last night. New people and ask so many
questions and talk so much, well - one wonders just hope
have been the means of help.
Feel very much complemented to have been missed - but am sure
I am the one that really missed something - glad you had nice
evening of it.
Will be mighty nice to have you at the Beach again and see
you every day for few days any way - be sure and come over
the evening you get here won't you. Dry here - feel like
we need rain badly, garden looks a bit puny and thirsty.
Think E.E. gets home Friday night the 12th; be married
the afternoon of the 13th and they will leave at once for
Cambridge. Have an apartment there for the time he is still
in school - when he is changed will depend on as to where he
is sent whether the little lady can go with him or not - but
as she says if he is in the U.S.A. she will be right there.
Will try and tell you about their reading when you were here
- gave they were associated in Egypt.
Yes - Congress Fri. - Sat. and Sunday. This business of
getting about is the trouble. Hope we have enough for a
congress - but the folks in Norfolk can't get out very well,
so when they come will have to spend the day - that is why
will have lunch this time on Friday.
Hives - must have been eating too many berries - mild
solution of antiseptic is best - try bathing parts affected
with Glyco - use regular strength if not too severe - have
good eliminant of the Senna base. Syrup of Figs or the like
that should help.
Love to each of you, with a kiss for little Anna
Eddie

3/27/50 Mrs. [
264] wrote that she had used Johnson's Baby
Castile Soap for her hands (in toilet as well as dishes)
for several years, as recommended in 2072-6, Par. 18-A: "It
keeps them soft. All other soaps that I have tried cause
hang-nails and splitting nails."
