Dear Madam;
Thank you for your airmail letter dated January 15,
requesting 1/8 ounce Atomidine Liquid.
We indeed are sorry to learn that you are experiencing
difficulty in obtaining our products in your locality. The
difficulty has arisen through the jobbers and local druggists
not caring to stock their shelves with cosmetics,
pharmaceuticals and drugs for the past few months. This
reluctance is due to Federal requirements governed by an
Act of Congress which became effective January 1.
Under this Act, known as the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic
Act, all manufacturers must make drastic changes in their
labeling of their products to meet the stringent
requirements. Some products are even forbidden from sale.
The purpose of the Act is for the ultimate good of the
consumer.
No doubt, your physician or druggist can tell you in more
detail regarding this Act.
We feel that this brief outline may assure you of our desire
to make our products readily available to our clients.
We are freely permitted to sell our products however,
technical requirements concerning our labeling have not yet
been approved by the Federal Food, Drug Administration.
Such approval will be forthcoming within the next few days.
until such time, however, we must decline your request for
Atomidine.
We regret the annoyance this must cause you and trust you
will appreciate our position at this moment.
Very truly yours,
Reginald S. Bisey [signed]

Dear Mr. Cayce,
The enclosed letter is self explanatory.
Am writing you now to ask for suggestions regarding where
or how I might purchase this atomidine. Also if you think
it wise to begin the osteopathic treatments at once and not
wait for the atomidine doses to be administered prior to the
osteopathic treatments as your letter indicated.
My daughter is so ill I dislike to withhold any treatments
that might be beneficial to her.
Hoping to hear at once from you. I am
Sincerely,
Mrs. [...]

Dear Mrs [...]
Yours of the 18th just to hand. Under the circumstances
would begin the Osteopath treatments at once. Am having
sent you from the local druggist a bottle of Atomidine, and
would begin this at once also. Think this would be best.
Sincerely hoping for the best for Mrs. [
2076].
Sincerely

Dear Mr. [...]
Thank you for yours of the 29th - and for the name of the
Dr. attending your daughter. Should he desire confirmation
from others of his school will be glad to furnish him the
name of and address of as many as he would like. Would like
for Dr. Dahl to make a list of questions to have asked
regards your daughter's condition if he would like to have
such. In that way have often found greater success with
such conditions.
Sincerely

2/15/40 Mother's letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
Thank you for your letter under date of February 2nd in reply
to Mr. [...].
Dr. Dahl, being a very busy person finds it hard to write
letters so has suggested that I keep in touch with you and
ask you the following questions.
Do you think it wise to increase the dosage of atomidine at
this time? How often would it seem advisable for her to have
the high colonics and do you think more than two treatments
per week from the osteopath a good idea?
Should you think it a good thing to have another reading
any time in the near future we shall be glad to have you
give one for my daughter.
Since her condition is of so many months standing and her
state of health so impaired we do not look for a marked
change for the better, in the very near future, but she has
asked me to ask you, would it be possible for you to give
her any idea when we might hope to see some improvement?
She finds it hard to keep her thoughts in an optimistic
trend due to her many handicaps, and lately she has often
given up to hysteria which we find hard to cope with. In
the face of her many handicaps, I can hardly see how she
could be otherwise.
Thanking you again for your cooperation. I am
Sincerely,
Mrs. [...]
2/16/40 EC's letter to [
2076]'s Mother:
Dear Mrs. [...]
Yours of the 15th just received. Will try and answer the
questions, as best can in light of experience with the
readings. Yes would increase the dosage of Atomidine say
two drops - but give it at the intervals indicated still.
As to how often the High Colonics - depends on the amount of
mucus is indicated as these are given. It is the purpose to
get rid of the accumulation of Mucus - but don't give so
often as to cause irritation - be governed by conditions but
this the best way to get rid of the Mucus.
Does the Osteopath ease her when he treats her then increase
to 3 times each week.
Do you give the olive oil after the series of Oil Packs - be
sure and do that - table spoon full or more - then the
poisons will be eliminated with the use of the Colonic - and
ease the tension - and get away from those periods of
hysteria.
Am making the appointment for a check reading for Mrs. [
2076]
for the afternoon of the 26 - 3:30 to 4:30 E.S.T. That is
2:30 to 3:30 your time I believe. Would suggest you make a
list of questions, Mrs. [...] - also have the Dr. give you
a list. Am anxious to see Mrs. [
2076] get the results as so
many others have gotten from such information.
Will include the question in next reading as to how soon to
expect decided improvement.
Hoping to be of a service in HIS name
Sincerely

2/20/40 Mother's letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Virginia Beach,
Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you for your prompt reply to my letter under date of
February 15. I am enclosing a check for $10.00 for another
reading. The time that you mentioned in your letter is
agreeable to us, Monday the 26th between 2:30 and 3:30. We
will keep this hour as a quiet hour as before.
Pertaining to questions, there are a number which I would
like to be enlightened about. My daughter wonders if there
could be any suggestion that you could make pertaining to
exercise for her hands, which are really helpless. Each
morning we give her a mild exercise of about 45 minutes over
the greater part of her body. Do you think this advisable?
Her speech also grows weaker daily, which is the greatest
concern to us. Have you any specific directions or
suggestions that you could give us that might help this
trouble? We are thinking that it might be possible for us
to take her to Florida about the first of April. Would you
think this advisable? We have heard that the sunshine and
surf baths have benefited others who suffered from like
conditions. She is anxious also to know if it might be
possible for you to give her any idea when she might hope
to see some improvement.
In your recent letter you asked me had we given her the
oil packs and the internal doses of olive oil. Since your
diagnosis and suggestions did not include anything of this
nature, this is something that we have not done. If you
will advise me just how this might be done for her we will
supplement her other treatments with this. I am sure the
answers to these questions will be very helpful to us. Dr.
Dahl, her osteopath, feels that I will ask you all things
necessary, and for that reason he has not communicated with
you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yours very truly,
Mrs. [...]
