3/30/40 Son's letter to EC: "I thank you for your letter of
March 22nd. Yes, we received the reading, and we will, you
may be sure, follow your suggestions carefully.
"Was it through inadvertence or otherwise that my third
question - Would following a diet help her general physical
condition, and if so would you suggest such a diet? - was
left unanswered? Inasmuch as I have to be housekeeper, nurse
and cook for the two of us, my selection of foods is, no
doubt, often unwise. Perhaps I am feeding her wrongly. I
can eat almost anything but she can't, so I would prefer to
adjust myself to her requirements if there is any preference
that you recommend, or foods that should be avoided.
"A stroke of good luck has come my way in that one of our
neighbor friends is driving to Miami with her son to visit
another son, and has invited my mother to join her for
companionship. They expect to leave Thursday of next week,
April 5th. Is there in Miami any osteopath who is
sympathetic with your work, or will any osteopath be able to
understand?
"I am bothering you further only because I am so anxious to
cooperate in every way with your suggestions that the
greatest success may be demonstrated.
"With kind regards, I am,"
4/01/40 EC's letter to [
2149]'s son:
"Yours of the 30th just received - thank you. Regarding to
the question about diet - if you will notice - page 2 second
paragraph [2149-1, Par. 10] there is to be the use of certain
foods. Then on page 3 [Par. 19] first full paragraph it
gives the certain food. This may appear to be nothing as it
is to be taken only once each week and there is no reference
to other foods - not that she is to live on Artichoke - but
to eat anything she desires except sweets. But must eat at
least one (1) artichoke of the Jerusalem variety each week
that is why no special question was asked - as all this is
intimated - and specific in those parts referred to.
"Will be nice for her to have a trip to Fla. but do hope she
will not let this interfere with her treatments.
"Hoping to see you when in N.Y.
"P.S. We have no special Osteopath in Miami - but would see
Dr. Dobbins and ask him to recommend some one to you there."
6/09/42 Son's letter requesting data be sent to his friend's
wife who was considering requesting a Physical Rdg.
"I mentioned your work, and told her of your correct
diagnosis of the health condition of both my brother [
756]
and my mother [
2149]."
7/60 Dr. Walter N. Pahnke's comments in preparing his
breakdown of 96 cases of epilepsy from the Edgar Cayce
records: Case [
2149]. Given in 1940. This case was
classified in group 1. Nocturnal fits were described, as
well as discomfort on the lower right side, in the
correspondence before reading. In follow-up reports, the
patient seemed to believe that the diagnosis given by the
reading was correct. There was no follow-up report on the
results of the treatment.
