This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of August, 1941, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. [2345], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2153]; this we have had before.
3. There are many changes in the general physical forces of this body since last we had same here. While there has not been as much improvement as might be desired by some, there is a great deal of change for the body - and for the better.
4. If it is understood that this change is a gradual growth, or rebirth in attitude, in outlook, in not only the body-forces and functionings of the physical body but the attitudes of individuals ABOUT the entity, there may be appreciated more the improvements that have come about.
5. As we find, the lesions and adhesions which are a part of the physical forces show some improvement. Yet with these also, while there are short periods of these being broken up, there are those tendencies for these to re-adhere. This would indicate that some changes are needed in the chemical reactions or influences through the system.
6. While the properties that have been and are being administered to prevent the spasmodic reactions in the nerve forces are helpful in allaying, they are NOT curative.
7. Hence, while these are being kept allayed, there needs to be those changes necessary for the removal of the CAUSES.
8. Hence mental attitudes - these are then gradually on the improve. Keep these up. But these are not wholly dependent upon the physical body of the entity, but those ABOUT the body and responsible for this body and its mental and physical reaction in this material plane.
9. These then are the applications as we find in the present:
10. There are some conditions where the lack of proper elimination causes pressures in the extremities, forming a sort of neuritic reaction - as indicated in the limbs, the arms, at times even in the shoulders and across the back.
11. Owing to the very nature, the age, the development, these are easily broken up with activity. But unless these sources are relieved, or kept relieved, we find that these would eventually come to be more serious.
12. Then, in the applications for the present:
13. First, - is to keep those attitudes, desires, hopes, in that manner which has been heretofore indicated. These come and go; thus at times become only wishful thinking without the attitude or desire changing activities of individuals towards others or towards this immediate condition.
14. Then in the physical forces of the body, - we would keep those applications suggested in the varied periods for relaxing the area through the caecum and the gall duct areas; these about the lacteal centers, especially. This would be done by the Packs and the Massages. These should be given again, periodically; that we may keep the more perfect accord in ALL the segments along the cerebrospinal system, and keep the adhesions from forming - as much as practical - by the stimulation of lymph flow through the areas where these tendencies have been and are still indicated. These we find indicated more especially in the right side, or area from the upper lobe of the liver to the caecum area.
15. We would be mindful to keep the eliminations good. For this we would alternate laxatives between those of a mineral and of a vegetable nature - as the other stimulations are given through the Packs and Massages. If desired, INNER CLEAN here would be very well. Also that which supplies weight would be well, as in Psyllium or the like.
16. All of these should be considered in keeping the body- functionings good.
17. At times also there should be used the oils, or Petrolagar - but this always of the Alkalin nature rather than the Acid.
18. Then keep those things suggested in the diet and in the activities of the body; the outside exercise, all forms of exercise - not too severe, but that which requires activity in the open. Riding, rowing, walking - all of these should at times be a part of the experience for the entity.
19. And these as we find will continue to keep not only the attitude and the physical forces of the entity but of those about the entity much toward betterment.

21. (Q) What should be done for trouble with knee?
    (A) Increase the eliminations, and have the gentle massage occasionally with Peanut Oil. This would be good following the bath, all OVER the body, as well as more specifically that limb.
22. (Q) Why has not the body responded as indicated in Rdg. of last August that she would?
    (A) As indicated here, while there has been improvement there has NOT been all of the attitudes, all of those things that are a necessary part of the treatment for the improvement. When that information was given, it was precluded that what was suggested would be done in the manner indicated by ALL concerned.
23. (Q) Any other advice?
    (A) Keep the spiritual attitudes also as a part of the whole. These are necessary. For, know - as indicated in His promises - health as well as wealth comes from God. This abused, or misused - the individuals MUST pay! For God is not mocked.
24. We are through for the present.
