3/13/24 EC's letter to [
2197]'s cousin:
P.O. Box 463, Dayton, Ohio
Mrs. [...], Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Dear Mrs. [...]
Enclosed you will find a copy of the reading on your cousin,
gotten at your request, and I'm very much in hopes that you
will insist that the family and friends have this carried
out, for I feel very sure from the experience of others that
should this be done this young lady will be normal and
alright. I'd like very much to hear from you, from time to
time. As to who this Gilbert is, referred to in Baltimore, I
do not know. I've never heard of him before. I am sure some
of the physicians at the Institution, or some of your local
men can tell you who they are.
As to remuneration [She had sent $2 when verifying the
appointment.], of course, our whole time is given to this
kind of work, and we ask that those that are able to
contribute as much as is possible. We believe that when we
try to do our part others will appreciate our position, for
we are limited to the number that we are able to give, not
being able to make more than two in one day; as this requires
the services of three people you can understand something of
our position. However, understand, this is left to the
discretion of those who apply to us for help. Trusting you
will see that this young lady's friends and relatives do the
best for us they can, and trusting we have been of a service,
we are
Yours very truly, Edgar Cayce
