7/01/26 EC's letter to Mr. [

Mr. [

..., Ohio
Dear Mr. [
2229]
Yours of the 23rd, with enclosure, for which I thank you,
received. I want to thank you, Mr. [
2229] for writing me
just as you have respecting this reading. The experience is
rather unique to me and my associates, as it is the first of
this kind that we have had respecting any of the Life
Readings. Now, of course, I am not going to try to convince
you there is something in it, when you already know there
isn't, but out of about a hundred, who have been given for
people in all parts of the country, in every walk of life
almost, this is the first - but, I know this already: If
these were infallible, I must have sprouted wings long since.
I'm sorry though that this hasn't proven more worth while and
more interesting to you, who have studied somewhat along
these lines.
Now, for the reading for your boy, through circumstances
over which we have had no control, we find that we are going
to have to change the date for this. As you know, it is
necessary for the individual to be at the address as is given
on the appointment card on the day and hour the reading is to
be made. We are having to change this up to Tuesday
afternoon, the 13th. Please let me know if this is
satisfactory.
Again thanking you for your letter, but hoping yet you may
find something interesting in the paper sent you, I am
Sincerely,
Edgar Cayce EC:GD
7/13/26 [
2229]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Last night, in refreshing my memory as to the exact time
when my boy should be at home to get your health reading.
I read over your letter and saw that you asked me to let
you know if the proposed time was satisfactory.
I recall that I intended to write you at the time, and also
that I did not do so. So I am hoping that the reading will
be given at that time, this afternoon, just the same. Am
having the body stay at home.
If by any chance you called off the reading due to my not
confirming the date, I'd like you to set another date just
as soon as possible. Make it before August 7, if possible,
for the boy and I go East at that time for two weeks.
I am sorry that I neglected to write you as I should have
done, but am still hoping that you will give the reading on
the date set.
Sincerely yours, [
2229]

My dear Mr. [
2229]
Replying to yours of the 13th, will say that we did not get
the reading for the young man, as we did not hear from you
and there were so many others that were begging for the time,
we felt it would be better to take one we know than go on in
uncertainty. We will have to make the appointment for the
young man on the 5th of August, as per the card enclosed.
I'm sorry to have to put this off so long, as we already had
the appointment, and move it up, but trust you will bear with
us this time, and that we may be of some service.
Sincerely,
Edgar Cayce EC:GD
