6/13/40 Sister [
2164]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce;
The reading you gave my sister on June 8th - (the one for
[
2274]) - came Tuesday, and your kind little note to her,
yesterday.
I am answering for her because she works long hours and is so
far from well.
The reading surprised us. I rather think they always do. At
first my sister was disappointed & couldn't quite see the
diagnosis, but now she does and she will obey faithfully, I
am sure.
You said, in the reading, to continue with the Vitamin B1.
That was remarkable. When I arrived here I took her to your
friend Dr. John Thompson, & he gave her shots that helped her
very soon.
You said to "continue the osteopathic treatments," but she
has had none at all. I wonder how that happened. She can't
afford anything she does not have to have, and we hope to
RENT a Wet Cell Appliance. Do you know of any one in Detroit
who has one? Dr. Thompson telephoned two patients, but could
not get one. I shall write to Health Home Remedies. I mean
Home Health. My sister is in that depleted state of inertia;
she just can't go ahead for herself. She is very darling and
very sad and hurt for real reasons.
On June 15th I go to Cleveland where my address will be ...
St.
I am devoted to my prescribed treatment with hope, & shall
see it through and write you further.
Sincerely, [

6/17/40 EC's letter to [
2164]:
Dear Mrs. [
2164]:
Thank you for yours of the 17th - glad your Sister feels
better satisfied with her reading - am sure Dr. Thompson can
tell her whether he feels that it is necessary for her to
have Osteopathic treatments or not - he too no doubt is
acquainted with every one in the Detroit sector who might
have an appliance that she might rent or borrow - ask him
about the one that Mr. [...] had [for his mother, Mrs.
[
1069]] - believe he had one like she needs.
Wish you might be with us for the congress - believe you
would really enjoy it, several have already arrived so are
keeping us busy.
Know if we can help in any way we are glad to do so. Hoping
you are feeling fine and your Sister on the improve.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
12/29/75 Report from A.R.E. member, Edgar Jastram:
"In this case of common sciatic pains, extending from right
buttock down to right foot, no doctor was consulted.
"Pain slowly subsided and disappeared after about six weeks
regular daily massage with peanut oil and keeping warm from
hips downward."
