6/15/40 (Saturday morning) Mother, Mrs. [
2184]'s letter:
..., Avenue
..., Virginia
Dearest Mr. Cayce,
Guess you will be surprised to hear from me but I have
been intending to write for quite awhile. First one thing
happened and then another. Same people only write when they
want help, but I'll tell you I'm really in earnest. I wish
to get my baby son [
2289] a reading, but as things are now I
haven't any money to pay you even a small amount. I have
carried him to Dr. Claiborne Wilcox (baby's doctor) and he
being one who trusted me still hasn't done me the good I
think you can do.
Mr. Cayce my baby needs your help and I'm asking you to help
me. If you will be so nice as to grant my son a reading I
surely will pay you when I receive some money.
I am expecting a little from [...] [estranged husband] soon
and then I will turn it over to you. Please trust me.
If you will, I will do my best to carry out the reading. You
helped me once [See
2184-1] and I'm sure you can help my son.
When you receive my letter please give me a ring.
My phone number being ..., you reverse the charges.
Thanking you very much,
A friend in need, [
2184]
These are the questions (as follows)
Q - What is the general condition of my baby?
Q - What is the cause of my baby's eyes (for the last three
weeks) being so red? (The whites of his eyes?)
Q - Has "Argyal," [Argyrol?] hurt his eyes in anyway?
Please suggest something to cure them.
Q - Has cutting 6 teeth (at one time) anything to do with it?
Q - Is the present formula agreeing with my baby? If not
please suggest proper one.
Q - Do all juices agree with my son. If not suggest as to
the proper ones.
Q - What kind of vegetables are good for my son.
Q - What is the cause of my baby's pulling his head to the
left at times?
Q - Should I give him cod liver oil? If so what kind?
Q - Is my baby's stomach strong and in good condition?
If you feel as though you can't help me please let me know
I'll understand.
6/20/40 [
2184]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I am sending in another question. It is one of the important
ones. Please ask this:
Q - Is my baby inclined to be bow-legged? If so what must I
do to help straighten them.
Thank you, [
2184]
I won't be able to be present for the reading, but would like
very much for you to let [
263] know what time it is going to
be and I will do my part. [

REPORTS
7/24/40 Mother, [
2184]'s letter:
... Avenue
..., Virginia
Dearest Mr. Cayce,
Here I am again, but again I really need your help and need
it very badly.
My baby [
2289] has been suffering with something you would
call, "Thrash." [Thrush?] His lips and tongue have had
white blisters on them. They have disappeared now and his
lips and mouth look as if they are raw. They are very red.
Not knowing for sure if it is the "Thrash," [Thrush?] I
really would like for you to tell me just what it is, knowing
that you can do it I am calling on you. So please give him a
reading as soon as you possibly can. These are the questions
as follows:
Q. 1. What is wrong with my baby's mouth? What is it's
cause? What must be done to clear it up?
Q. 2. Is my baby's throat sore? If so how can I heal it?
Q. 3. Why does my baby not drink but 2 and 3 ozs of milk at a
feeding? Why does he not eat his cereal? etc.
Q. 4. Is the Haliver Oil I'm giving him the proper oil?
Stearns Halibut Liver Oil with Viosterol.
Q. 5. Is the solution Potassium Chlorate the proper solution
for my baby's mouth? If not please suggest.
Q. 6. What can I do to help my baby gain weight?
Q. 7. What can be done to help his bowels?
Q. 8. How much vegetables must I give him at feed time?
Should my baby have egg now. If so just how?
Q. 9. Must I give my baby vegetables and juices while he is
sick?
Q. 10. What causes red spots to break out on his body at
times? Is it caused from much acid in his system?
What is it's cause?
What can be done?
Mr. Cayce, my baby has been bad off and I don't know just
what to do. So please help me. We will see to it that you
are paid, and paid well.
Call ... [telephone number] and reverse the charges letting
me know when it will be.
Sorry to hear of your having been sick, glad that you are up
again.
Thanking you
So very much [
2184]
7/25/40 See
2289-2.
