This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of September, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2346], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1469].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Born September 7, 1896, Monday, 2:30 P. M., in Philadelphia, Penna.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions that may be asked:
2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2346].
3. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, these are chosen with the desire and purpose that this may be a helpful experience for this entity.
4. While faults and virtues are indicated in analyzing the records, the purpose is that the entity may so apply self as to fill that consciousness which will bring the virtues more into activity and the faults less.
5. The entity is very unusual; very intuitive; very psychic. The entity should be associated or affiliated closely with those who study such from the spiritual angle, and not as phenomena only.
6. Oft the entity has had the experience of being called (and is) the dreamy type; day dreaming, as well as at times having or experiencing dreams of the three types; and the entity should keep a record of its dreams. For, these ARE a means, a manner of expression that may be applicable in the experiences of being helpful to others; enabling the entity to warn others as well as self.
7. The entity's high mental abilities are indicated through the astrological aspects. For we find that not only Neptune but Uranus and Venus, as with Mercury, are the ruling forces with this entity.
8. These will bring extremes, cause nervous temperament at times, and at others placid when all about the entity would appear to be chaos.
9. In Venus we find the beauty of ENJOYING beauty. We find also from Uranus the extremes, and the interest in the occult as well as the mystic. As a child the entity was afraid of the dark.
10. As to the appearances in the earth, - these appear to be many, that even influence the entity through the present experience.
11. Hence these appear rather as complexities to others at times; and always to others the entity appears rather mysterious, closed within self.
12. The entity finds at times those influences of the unseen rather tempting, and at others rather disconcerting.
13. But hold only to those that have the spiritual import. Hold to the spirituality rather than an ism.
14. As indicated from many sojourns, the entity is highly emotional at times, and yet placid or clam at others. These are rather the extremes.
15. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those early periods when there were the settlings in the land; when there was the close adherence to the tenets of the founders of that "city of brotherly love."
16. The entity was among those who, according to some, were "possessed," and according to others just the highly evolved or developed entities. The entity was quiet, communing with self and with those influences that arose about self, through the mystic forces of the teachings of brotherly love.
17. In that experience the entity was never married, and yet held about self many of those things that kept the entity always at a distance and yet sought for, or the companionship of the self sought by many.
18. These have made for those urges latent of the desire at times to be quiet and alone, and at other periods the feeling of the necessity to have much company and many companions, - which has brought those experiences of the dreaming into this present sojourn.
19. The name then was Mazie Hemingway. The entity gained in the mental and spiritual, and brought into the present experience many of those things as of the mystic and of the dreamer.
20. Before that the entity was in the land now known as Holland, or as a Hollander.
21. In those periods of the early activities when there were the warring influences between those of the Norse land and the lands just below same, or the Huns, - the entity was active in those directions, even through those periods of turmoils and strife among many, in which there was the thought of the beauty in nature; especially flowers, and the cultural things pertaining to same, and the cultivating, the gathering, the planting, the care of same. The greater activities of the entity were spent in those directions, yet capable of using self in the rearing of a family - some of whom are in the experience of the entity in the present.
22. Throughout that experience the entity gained; for its care of things close to nature brought a temperament and a tendency for the appreciation of things of beauty in nature, and also their expressions of the creative influences in the experience as applied to others. Hence we find that there was a growth for the entity.
23. Then the entity was in the name Marel Duodundo. [Merel Duranda? or Dieudonnee? or Dieuwerdina?]
24. Before that the entity was in the promised land, during those periods when the Master walked in the earth.
25. The entity was among the children about the land where the Master dwelt. The entity came directly under the influences of the Master through those periods when there were the gatherings of the children for His blessings, as He walked by the wayside.
26. The entity held to those tenets, those truths; which are the principles of His teachings even in the present, - the beauty of a smile, the beauty of speech, the beauty of companionship, for the helpful, improving influences in the experience of others were as the watchword of the entity throughout that sojourn.
27. The entity was acquainted with some closely, others as afar, of those of the Twelve that followed with Him; and was blessed by them because of the care the entity made for the Master's household after the Crucifixion.
28. The name then was Suphor. The entity GAINED throughout the experience. The entity brought to James, the brother of the Lord, the helpful influences through the aiding in the activities in the first church.
29. Before that the entity was in the Persian and Arabian land. There the entity was the offspring of the teacher Uhjltd and his companion through the greater portion of that experience. Thus the entity was closely associated in the activities of that experience as the developments went on.
30. Thus we find the entity gifted in those things pertaining to some characters of music; some of the healing; some of the beauty of relationships to those of other lands.
31. The desire for travel arises from those experiences, because of the stories or tales told in the hearing of the entity through the early experience there, - as Marpha.
32. In the experience the entity gained through the greater activity; aiding through those periods of turmoils when there were the temptresses from the Grecian land. The entity became acquainted with those, but was not drawn away from the activities and teachings of its own experience.
33. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land. There we find the entity was again closely associated or affiliated with the activities of the Priest; for the entity then was the youngest of the daughters of the Priest through that experience, and a close associate with the activities of the Priest's companion who was banished or exiled with the Priest.
34. Through that experience the entity brought helpful forces to many, in its aiding in the Temple Beautiful especially. For, there the entity acted in the capacity of the high priestess in that temple.
35. Thus the adornment or dress at times are as dreams or visions of the entity, especially in certain dreams it has had. These hark back to what may be termed the experiences of its own self in activity through the various sojourns in the earth.
36. The name then was Sam-Ar-Arth.
37. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then:
38. First, analyze self and self's purposes and self's desires. For, the entity is unusually gifted in the psychic and mystic forces, as may be indicated from its experiences and appearances.
39. As the warning has been indicated, - hold to that which is of the spiritual nature, or import, even greater than to that of the mystical or metaphysical nature.
40. But know in Whom as well as in what ye believe; that is, know who is the author of thy faith, of thy hope, of thy promise.
41. In the home, and in associations with those whom the entity aided much in other sojourns, may the greater work be done. These activities of the entity, in whatever field may be chosen, will be well.
