This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 27th day of June, 1932, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [2353], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [2353]. Now, we find there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body. Some of these have been of long standing, and have gradually builded those conditions that now arise, that cause specific effects in the physical functioning, causing distresses at times to the body. These, as we find, are in the eliminations of the system, and affect the body in different forms.
2. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, Mrs. [2353] we are speaking of, present in this room:

THE BLOOD SUPPLY, under such conditions, is very good at present - but unless there ARE changes must become affected, as the organs are being disturbed as respecting the increasing of pressure in the blood supply, and the amount of toxins that are carried in the system - which are shown by the manner in which the circulation is disturbed in the extremities, the swelling that occurs in ankles and limbs, the pressure that occurs when the body attempts to lie down, or the changes that are effected by the body being prone, or the body sitting up. These show that there ARE disturbances, yet the effect - save in the manner of pressure in the blood supply - is not affected as yet.
4. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, we find this is very good, save as to how partially this is the cause or the seat of much of the disorder, as the pressures that have produced those conditions in the colon itself, as well as the effect that is produced in the organs of the pelvis, the disturbance with the kidneys themselves, which make for those toxic forces that may effect the system, produced by pressures in the nerve system, preventing the body from having those impulses through the proper eliminations.
5. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY THEMSELVES, the conditions that are produced here are varied portions of SYMPATHETIC conditions that arise from the character of disorders and disturbances in the system.
6. The seat of the disturbance then, as we find, comes with the digestive system, which makes for an extending or dilating of the colon in the transverse and descending area. This makes for that shortness of breath that comes with the quick palpitation of the heart at times. These also produce the poisons that affect the kidneys, that affect the circulation to the lower portions of the body, or in the extremities, producing at times the nausea when the body attempts to eat, the lack of appetite, the cause of the indigestion that occurs at times, making for - with the pressures produced - those inactivities of the liver and the slow action of the gall ducts themselves. These are secondary conditions and NOT the causes. The causes are from the conditions in the colon itself, and the pressures in the nerve system.
7. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions in the present:
8. We would take Eno Salts in regular doses, not large - nor so that the effects are to deplete the system too severely, but level teaspoonful taken every morning in HOT water - as hot as may be taken - for a period of six to eight days. Discontinue for two or three days, then begin again with the same amount.
9. When there are those pressures in or about the heart area, and the lungs, take one grain of Calcidin, which will relieve the pressure in the respiratory system and will add sufficient calcium and iodine to reduce the amount of pressure that is caused in this area.
10. Once each week the body should have a high irrigation, that will REMOVE those pressures in the colon which have caused this dilated area - and that produce pressures in the system and hinder the circulation through the pressures in the system.
11. We would also use each evening (and this we would continue, not stop at periods as with the properties taken) the electrically driven vibrator over the lumbar, the sacral and the lower DORSAL area, especially. When there is the shortness of breath, or the necessity of rising when trying to rest or sleep, use at the brachial center - or just between the shoulders and at the base of the brain. This will relieve the pressures in this area, that are of the spasmodic nature.
12. In the matter of the diet - it is very necessary to be mindful of this, that the eliminations and assimilations are kept well. This is as an outline, though may be changed or altered to suit the tastes of the body - but will be found to be very effective:
13. Beware of using too much salt in anything cooked.
14. Mornings - citrus fruits and the juices of same, followed with brown toast or the like.
15. Noons - green vegetable, or vegetable salads. No meats, and none that carry any salt of an excess quantity.
16. Evenings - vegetable soups, well cooked vegetables, brown breads or those that are well toasted at all times. These will assist in REDUCING the acidities of the system. Fruits, in their season, may be taken in the place of the salads, or may be used occasionally in the morning meal. However, do not mix cereals and fruit juices - that is, do not have them at the same meal.
17. Do that, and we will find these conditions in the body, [2353] will not only be relieved but their CAUSES eliminated from the body.
18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) How much Calcidin may be taken, or how many doses?
    (A) The one grain tablet, or one at a time may be taken - though they may be taken every HOUR until the spasmodic condition or pressure is relieved.
    We will find, with the irrigations, with these vibrations from the electrically driven vibrator at these particular centers each evening for five to ten minutes, after the second or third of these - and the salts taken three or four days - these conditions will fast disappear.
    This, we will find, will aid also in the vibrations that are necessary for relieving those pressures to the sensory organism, aiding in the taste, the hearing, and the eyes, to be more normal.

3. GD's note: Although Mrs. [2353] did not give us her exact age, she did mention that she had four children and several grandchildren.
4. 5/22/63 Granddaughter reported that Mrs. [2353] was 57 years old, that she had 2-3 ailments any one of which could have killed her, but the main 2 she could remember were Bright's Disease and Diabetes.
   Mrs. [2353]'s daughter said she did not follow the treatments as given in the reading; she went a few times to a chiropractor but felt worse after each treatment, so she gave up. She took to her bed and would not go out of the house, said she just felt too bad. The family felt that if she had made more of an effort to get out and among people she would have fared better.
   She died 2/19/33.
