10/10/40 Dr. [
2381]'s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I wonder if you could please add the following to the
questions I submitted, with Mrs. [
1947]'s help, the other
day (yesterday in fact).
If my wife and I are to separate permanently what should I
contribute to the support of our children added together with
her support of them?
I read with her the various readings given my wife and our
children thru your services. I may be wrong, but I believe
she is misinterpreting and misreading some of the contents
and has become perhaps too emotionally wrought up about some
parts. Others are fine. I want to become more attuned to
the principles and spirit of the Association and its fine
work. I knew nothing of it until she told me yesterday and
had been unable to understand her thoughts and actions until
then. She seems to have worried terribly about some things
which were proved not as she thot and interpreted them to be,
and decided to leave our home for a while to await spiritual
guidance in ... Hence the letter to you yesterday, upon
which rests her returning to ... We would both be very
appreciative if you would have the copies sent airmail as
soon as possible as we are both hoping for the best.
Very Sincerely, [
2381]
1. My wife and I are temporarily separated. Will her future
and mine be best as husband and wife, or should we separate
permanently?
2. Would the contribution of each of us in our life's work be
made best together, or separately?
3. If together, how can it be worked out to the satisfaction
of both?
4. By approximately what time will we be together (as husband
and wife?) Where would this be best?
4 1/2. If we are to separate permanently, what should I
contribute to the support of our children, added together
with her support of them?
5. If we are to be permanently separated, what should be
my future?
6. Should I remain in ...?
7. What should be my work, and how can I best handle it?
8. Should I remarry? When? Who?
9. Will I have other children?
10. In the event of war, what should be my contribution?
11. Will I write a book? When? When should it be published?
12. In case I change positions, where, or in what state
should I locate?
13. Would there be a possibility in North Carolina? If so,
should I accept it?
14. If I do remain in Oregon, what are the possibilities for
advancement or success? What position will I eventually
occupy?
15. Excepting the need for a tonsillectomy, should I have a
physical reading?
16. Any further advice?
(Please make a third copy, and send it air mail
simultaneously to Mrs. [
1947] California. Thank you.)

1947-6 and her
answer to it.
10/24/40 Dr. [
2381]'s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I wonder if you would be kind enough to give me your
interpretation of the answer in my recent reading to
question No. 4, page 5 [2381-1, Par. 41-A]. Does that
mean that we would be together "in the next few months"
(as husband & wife) - "and in the west for two years -
then etc." Or does it mean something other than that.
I am confused a bit and would appreciate your interpretation
very much. The favorable chances are there. For your
convenience, I am enclosing a self-addressed stamped
envelope.
Sincerely, [

10/30/40 EC's ltr. to Dr. [
2381]:
Dear Dr. [
2381]:
Thank you for yours of the 24th - appreciate your confidence
in my judgement of the information.
As I understand it - You will be together as husband and
wife - and in the west for two years; then in the East -
N.C. or Ky. or the like.
Just hope each of you find something within your selves that
answers to that suggestion - if so am sure it will work out
to the best for every one concerned.
Will be anxious to hear the conclusion of the matter - we all
have to love Mrs. [
1947] and the children since knowing her
- and do hope all is well for each of you.
With all good wishes
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce

2/23/41 Wife [
1947]'s letter:
"In addition to that, my final decree (divorce) was granted
Feb. 15th, with custody of the children, and some support
until they reach their majority."

two men friends and advisability of marriage to one of them;

11/23/44 Mr. [
2381]'s ltr. to EC (sent forms, answering NO,
11/28/44. GD.):
Dear Mr. Casey [Cayce]:
I am wondering if you would kindly write me indicating
whether my former wife, [
1947], has sought to secure any
additional so-called readings from you during the past two
years?
As you may perhaps know, none of your prophecies actually
materialized for her and they only wrought trouble in our
family.
For your convenience, I am enclosing a self-addressed stamped
envelope for reply.
Sincerely, [
2381]
GD's note: Mrs. [
1947] did obtain two Physical Readings in
1943 - see
1947-10 and
1947-11. [In the fall of 1946 we
heard that she married another professor, one about whom she
had not asked in a reading.]
