TEXT

1. GC: You will you will answer the questions which have been submitted regarding this case, as I ask them:
2. EC: (In trying to locate the address - "What peculiar trees!")
3. Yes, we have the body, [2426]; this we have had before.
4. We find that as yet there is little change for the better; though not all of the suggestions we have indicated are being followed.
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) Why does abnormal temperature persist daily?
   (A) From the very nature of the disorders themselves; a strep that causes, with the activities of the body, that of temperature.
When this arises, rest - and use an equal combination of pure grain alcohol and peanut oil (these cut together, equally) to massage, with the tips of the fingers, along the spine. We find that this will reduce temperature, as well as supply better conditions for a better circulation to that area especially over or along the cerebrospinal through the rib area.
7. (Q) Why the loss of weight continuously?
   (A) Lack of the assimilation.
8. (Q) What will cause weight to increase?
   (A) This question is hardly in keeping with the best interests for the body; that is, the manner in which it is asked. There needs to be first the eradication of the causes of the infection through the system. This area in the lungs which causes the coughing - this is an inflammation that affects the portion along the cerebrospinal system through which there is the space between the lung and the body-force itself - or the pleura, see? This is irritated; thus the needs for the Infra Red light. This has not been given properly. It should be given over the area of the back as indicated, and will aid in relieving the troubles; so that, WITH better assimilation, the body will gain weight.
9. (Q) When massages are given, what particular parts of body should be especially stressed and treated?
   (A) As has just been given.
10. (Q) What is meant by deeper relaxation?
    (A) Just what it says! ANY osteopath who UNDERSTANDS his business should know what deep or slight manipulation means.
11. (Q) What has Adiron accomplished thus far, and how long should I continue it?
    (A) This has not assimilated properly, as it should, with the system. Hence as we last indicated, we would continue the Vitamins - especially the B, A and G; which as we find just now may be had most in One-two-three tablets - that's the name, you see,
12. (Q) What reason is there for good and bad days occurring?
    (A) Sometimes there's more rest and recuperation. These come from the varied natures of the disturbance as we have indicated.
13. (Q) What term would be applied to my ailment?
    (A) Strep!
14. (Q) Is the heat light being used the proper one, and is it applied correctly?
    (A) As we have indicated, it should be the Infra Red and NOT a carbon light. We have given the directions as to how the Infra Red should be alternated with the Ultra-Violet Mercury Quartz light; the Infra Red on Tuesdays and the Ultra-Violet on Thursdays. However, if only the Infra Red is to be used - we would use it about three times each week, and it should be at least for thirty minutes.
15. (Q) Would red wine and black bread be helpful for strength?
    (A) If it is easily assimilated. It may be tried out by the body. But take it as a food; that is, as a separate meal by itself, in the late afternoon or evening.
16. (Q) Why do I cough so much and what will stop it?
    (A) It is from the very nature of the disturbance, and that is why we have suggested the Light effect to the bronchi - through the pleura, from the back, see?
17. (Q) What kind of tissue is found in the affected areas?
    (A) As just given - strep!
18. (Q) Where are the affected areas?
    (A) Wherever there is blood!
19. (Q) How can healing be accomplished quickest and best?
    (A) As given, by the massage, the rest, the light, and THINKING health.
20. (Q) Would an operation aid in removing the affected tissue to bring about healing? Please discuss.
    (A) We do not find that an operation would be other than such as to make greater distresses; for there is little healing forces to be relied upon in such drastic measures.
21. (Q) Can healing be permanent?
    (A) If it is healed at all it'll be permanent!
22. (Q) Would the climate around Celina, Ohio or Long Island or Brooklyn, N.Y. be good or better for me?
    (A) If this is undertaken, do not begin such until it is much warmer weather; and acclimate self to such by passing the summer there, rather than beginning at this season or period of the year.
23. (Q) What is the best exercise for me and how much?
    (A) There should be little save walking and that necessary for the general activities.
24. (Q) How much rest should I have?
    (A) About ten hours each day.
25. (Q) Why do my joints ache and swell, especially at my ankles?
    (A) The very nature of the strep in the system.
26. (Q) What will relieve the ache and swelling?
    (A) Staying off of the feet as much as possible, except at the regular periods of activity; and following the applications suggested.
If these things will be done as we have outlined, consistently, persistently, we find that these offer the better possibilities and - combined with the right way of thinking - will bring the better conditions for this body.
27. We are through for the present.

2. 4/21/41 Husband's ltr. to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment Virginia Beach, Virginia
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
Shortly after my last letter to you, my wife and I both decided to discontinue the treatment as outlined in your readings, the reason for which is as follows. Your instructions were followed to the letter for some ten weeks with the result that my wife's condition was steadily growing worse. At no time were there any definite indications of improvement. In fact, at the end of the this ten-week period, she was so desperately ill that it became necessary to do something else.
She is now following the advice of her doctor here, which includes a new type of treatment, and the results have been so satisfactory as to expect a complete recovery.
If you will be so kind as to send us a statement for whatever we might owe for your readings, we will endeavor to pay for same as soon as possible.
   Yours very truly
   cc to Mr. [257]
3. 5/12/41 EC's ltr. to Husband:

Something do not know what was all a miss, hope we may learn something from same. But am most happy to know she is better and hope she continues on the improve.
You do not owe us any thing, are happy to try and help - but hope some day there will not be any charge of any kind for such.
Thanking you and with all good wishes
   Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
