TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [2434].
3. As we find, these are rather acute conditions, and unless there are changes may become rather serious.
4. We find that these arise from an acidity in the system, and the lack of that coordination with the eliminating system of the kidneys carrying off that they should - and the incoordination between kidney and liver elimination.
5. Thus the stress upon the heart and lungs, in circulation.
6. We would administer, daily, at least, two ounces of watermelon seed tea. Prepare this by pouring two or two and a half ounces of boiling water over a tablespoonful of crushed or ground watermelon seed, and allowing to steep as ordinary tea. Do not boil the seed, but pour the boiling water over same, see, and allow to steep. Strain then and drink.
7. And then in the osteopathic adjustments, stimulate better activity of the eliminations from the 6th dorsal center. This should be from the left side and down, for the relieving of the tension there.
8. Then keep the body quiet, and keep up general eliminations well.
9. Keep up the tea two or three days, then leave off.
10. Ready for questions.
11. (Q) What is the condition of the kidneys?
    (A) As just indicated, this is an incoordination between the eliminating systems. Thus the necessity of that character or quality of nitre as may be obtained from watermelon seed tea.
12. (Q) Does this cause the pain in back of head?
    (A) Causes pain in back of head, as this comes to part of that circulation of heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and naturally a block in the 6th dorsal is the area of the pressure on the brain, for there the coordination between kidneys and the liver enters to the superficial and deep circulation.
We would also, of course, put a counter-irritant back of the neck. Musterole or Mustard to redden, not blister.
13. We are through with this Reading.

Two copies to Daughter (one for Dr. Smith [Arthur E. Smith, D.O.] - Air Mail, Special)
    Copy to Ass'n file
(Obtain watermelon seed from a good seed store.)

BACKGROUND

1. 1/23/41 She obtained 2434-1 for skin rash on hands and gas on stomach.
2. 3/06/43 Daughter wrote: "She has a pain in the back of her head. Also her kidneys are not right. The doctors say she has sugar. The osteopath says it's acid. She is feeling very miserable. Please send answer as soon as possible, for I am very anxious to relieve her."

REPORTS

1. 3/12/43 Daughter [1747]'s questions: "Mother is feeling a lot better and I am now writing for a check rdg. She hasn't been feeling very good for some time and has a bad cold, has had most of the winter. The burning sensation has left but she still has that pain in her head but not so bad. Dr. Smith asked me to ask these questions:"
   1. Is the gall bladder involved? 2. Is it only liver congestion? 3. Will the juice of lemon with 2 teaspoons of Glycerine act as a relief? 4. Shall we repeat the watermelon tea? 5. Is there a special diet? 6. Why the acid when she has been taking alkaline tablets? 7. Does her body create too much hydrochloric acid and cause this acid condition?
2. 3/18/43 See 2434-3.
3. 6/30/52 Daughter [1747]'s report:
"She was quite sick with this. And wasn't getting any help from the Dr. But after the way she took the 1st reading I didn't insist. But told her that I thought a reading would be the way to get better.
"The whole alimentary canal was sore and raw. She couldn't sleep. And she was in great misery. The watermelon seed helped it very much.
"There was great burning when the kidneys functioned.
"A lot of pain in the head and neck.
"She got better after following the treatment."
