This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of February, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2454], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1223].

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2454].
3. Now as we find, there are disturbing influences that prevent the better physical functioning. These appear to be as a complication, though the varied disturbances are from the lack of a balancing in the abilities for the better assimilation.
4. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [2454] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. The blood supply indicates a form of anemia, or the lack of sufficient quantity - more than quality - in the blood forces.
6. This has been hindered by first a condition which existed in times back when there were great strains on the mental and physical body. The activities so tired out the general physical forces and their abilities in functioning as to cause an unbalancing in the glands as related to assimilation in the various organs of the body.
7. By and through mental stimulation the body has often gone or acted, then, purely on nerve energies. This, of course, has gradually caused greater strains upon the body.
8. While such mental stimulation is well, we find that there is the lack of influences to cause in the physical body the activity necessary for assimilation. Consequently, there are disturbances to the strength and vitality of the body, as well as the inability of proper digestion. Thus the organs of the system are disturbed or put under stress.
9. To be sure, the nerve forces of the body are the more active. The effects may be said to be here, rather than the causes. However, because of the general energies of the body being often forced to be used, we find that at times the body feels a heaviness and a tiredness through portions of the system, especially in the areas of locomotion, - as in the lumbar and sacral area; an aching that extends even at times to the small or middle of the back, then through the areas between the shoulders also. Then at times the body may have a kind of headache at the base of brain, causing a great deal of anxiety to the body. In these areas of the nervous system there are engorged or enlarged ganglia, and these would be found to be rather sore to the touch, - at times spreading into the muscular forces of the body.
10. As to the functioning organs themselves, - we do not find these being other than latently active as causes, because of the slowing of the central impulse from lack of quantity - or quality in quantity - of the blood supply. For, the general nervous forces being exercised through the system cause a slowness to the deeper circulation. Hence the organs are not diseased but at times become dis-eased.
11. These as we find are the disturbing forces with this body.
12. In making administrations, we find that these need to be rather in the form of what may be called "boosters," with the general mental attitude kept as it is.
13. Then, we would begin first by taking small quantities internally each day of Pure Olive Oil; not so much as to cause regurgitation or the body to belch same, but a quarter to half a teaspoonful two, three to four times a day, for periods of ten days at a time. Then leave off a few days, and begin again. This will act as a food for the whole of the alimentary canal.
14. Also begin with the taking of ADIRON; three pellets each day, one with each meal. And eat the meals! for there is often the tendency for the body to lessen on the appetite.
15. Too, we would begin with the use of the electrically driven vibrator each evening when ready to retire. Do not hurry through with this application. Take twenty to thirty minutes in giving this treatment. Use the cup applicator along the spine, especially over the areas of the neck and head, between the shoulders, and across the 9th dorsal, and through the lumbar and sacral area. Also use the sponge applicator across the abdomen, or stomach and abdomen, and especially across the diaphragm area.
16. Then, as for the diets:
17. Refrain from ANY fried foods.
18. Include all kinds of fruits and vegetables in the diet, these in combinations - of course - that agree with the body; preferably, though, more of the leafy or fresh vegetables rather than the dried - such as dried beans or the like.
19. Of meats, - only fish, fowl or lamb.
20. Fruit juices should be a portion of the diet often.
21. Do these and we will find we will bring near normal conditions for this body, [2454]. We will soon find conditions on the improve, and better abilities for the assimilations. To be sure, this will be gradual, - it will require a little time for results to be seen, - some several weeks, - and then occasionally recurrent disturbances; but be persistent, and these will eliminate causes, thus assisting the body in its entirety to be attuned to those high mental and spiritual ideals of the body. The physical forces will thereby be attuned to the greater abilities that exist, as to the activity of the mental self over the physical body - with correct spiritual attitudes.

23. (Q) Do I have sufficient understanding of the spiritual law to bring complete recovery from this apparent illness?
    (A) As has been indicated, without this understanding the body would have collapsed long since! But there are energies lacking. The active forces and principles as indicated are just as divine as mental attitudes, and are at times necessary for COMPLETING the unison of activity of physical, mental and spiritual being.
24. (Q) Why does deep meditation seem to weaken me physically?
    (A) Because there are those centers affected as indicated, through which connections or activity may be said to exist between the spiritual, mental and physical forces. Precautions need to be taken, then, as to overstimulating the activities of the superficial circulation as it coordinates with the mental and spiritual centers. For, deep activity in these directions brings to the body a headache, or a dizziness and a tiredness, - which is because of a lack of complete coordination between the superficial and deeper circulation.
25. (Q) Could I have another child?
    (A) Could have another child; but it would require that the physical body be builded to a better coordination in the vital energies necessary for creating the activities through the physical; else it would be detrimental to the body - under the existent conditions.
26. (Q) When would it be advisable?
    (A) When the body has gained a better equilibrium physically.
27. (Q) Should I have a special kind of diet?
    (A) As indicated, a generally well balanced diet, adhering to the warnings indicated in order to keep a balance, stressing certain characters of foods. But do not become so diet-conscious as for the diet to become master, rather than the self being master of the diet.
28. (Q) Am I physically able to take a boarder into my home at this time? Would this be advisable?
    (A) If there will be the application of those things suggested here, in three to four months the body might have strength and vitality sufficient to undertake this, but not in the immediate.
    Do these things indicated for the PHYSICAL activities of the body.
    KEEP that mental attitude which has been indicated, for this has been and is the real life force of the body.

   Reading's Recommendations: A form of anemia, lack of sufficient blood causing inability for proper digestion of food, putting stress on all organs general clogging of the body. Treatment - Take olive oil for periods of 10 days then leave off a few days and take again, three pellets of Adiron a day. 5. 7/12/51 [2454]'s verbal report to IMG:
   "This reading was followed just as outlined, and in six months I went from 108 pounds to 150 pounds.
   "In making this report, it will be of special interest to some, that not only was the physical condition described exactly in minute detail, but the condition of anemia, the reference to the blood forces and the unbalancing in the glands is a condition that will be better understood if something of the background is given.
   "At the time referred to in the Life Reading [2454-3], that is, the years of 28 to 34, there was an unusual period of stress mentally, physically and materially, during which time I ate very little, going for weeks with only a cup of coffee a day, or a milkshake. At that time I was not aware of the spiritual significance of being, to go within myself and inside of a second, bring forth enough strength to sustain me throughout the day. However at night, I would collapse, having to repeat this 'going within' each morning for the day's needs. Sometimes during the day when I would go out for a milkshake, I would then again have to go within to replenish my energies.
   "The desire to have another child was put aside because through meditation it was given to me that I'll have all I can do to raise this one. However, it is of interest that there was nothing done to prevent conception from taking place. I am now 52 and am still menstruating and feeling as when I was 25 years of age. Menstruation is regular and normal.
   "The reason for seeking a reading was because of an acute kidney infection. The doctors told me that the kidney would have to be removed as soon as I was able to be moved to a hospital. I did go to the naval hospital, but I refused to have the operation performed. The kidney was disgorged, but after using the hand driven vibrator, for three days the kidney had gone down to normal size and I was out of pain. "I have learned that this condition came about because of the use of novocaine or any drug necessary for pulling teeth. This is always followed by the kidney infection. This has happened five times and each time when novocaine is taken (or any of its derivatives) it is followed by the kidney infection. This covers a period of about twenty years. Through meditation, I have learned that I was a dope addict in my previous incarnation and that is why I can't take dope now."
