This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of May, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2455], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2455].
3. As we find, in some directions there is apparently at times even more irritation in the superficial circulation, - from the conditions that exist, as will be indicated. However, in many other directions there is much improvement, - as in the corrections that have been made to set up a better coordination in the eliminating systems.
4. The conditions that exist through the thinning of the walls of the intestines allow the poisons to find expressions in the lymph circulation; thus producing the irritation to and through the epidermis itself.
5. Through the warm weather these show the tendency for greater activity in the perspiratory system; thus causing greater irritations and a good deal of anxiety to the body.
6. As we find, now, we would do these:
7. Twice to three times each week we would take internally about two ounces at the time of Yellow Saffron Tea. This would be prepared in the proportions of a heaping teaspoonful to a pint of boiling water, allowed to steep as ordinary tea; or half a teaspoonful to a cup of boiling water, see? This should be made fresh each time it is to be taken.
8. Also about twice each week - but on opposite days - we would take about half a pint, or more, of Mullein Tea. Preferably, at this season, the Mullein should be gathered fresh. Use an ounce (in weight) of the flower and leaf of the Mullein to a quart of boiling water. Let this steep as ordinary tea, and it may be kept for a period of a week, provided it is put in the ice box or kept very cold.
9. In the evenings when the bath is taken, we would apply Cuticura Ointment followed by Resinol - both applied, you see, one following the other. Apply these especially over the areas of the abrasions. Do not apply it in the hair, but around the edges - and on all other portions of the body where the skin is irritated. If we rid the condition from the system, then these disturbances should be eliminated.
10. Keep close to the diets that have been indicated; cutting down on the foods that give the great quantity of calories, increasing those that give the greater vitamin content; especially B-1 and B-4 - as in all foods that are yellow in color. Yellow corn meal made in bread, cakes, mush or the like; carrots both raw and cooked; yellow peaches - let these be practically the only sweets taken.
11. The grape juice we would keep consistently, to supply the vital forces as in B-4 for the body.
12. This is a reducing diet as well as a diet for the skin irritation, you see.
13. Occasionally - once in ten days or the like - we would STILL have the osteopathic adjustments.
14. After the teas have been taken for at least two or three weeks, we would then add the low electrical vibrations of the Violet Ray; not the bulb applicator, but the rod applicator to be held in the hand - and when this is taken it would be preferable to put the bare feet on glass. Just hold the rod in the hand, you see; one time the right hand, the next time the left hand, if so desired. When this is begun, take it for about three minutes at the time, three times a week - but NOT until there has been the effect of the properties in the system (from the Mullein and Saffron Tea). Just use the rod in the hand, you see; instead of alternating to the feet - though if you want to play with using it on the feet, alright! It isn't necessary - just the alteration from one hand to the other will be sufficient to get the vibratory force needed for the body.
15. Be mindful that there are no carbonated waters, and that no sugars to any great extent are taken into the system - if the body would be rid of these conditions.
16. This disturbance is of a blood nature, but of the LYMPH blood, and - as we have indicated heretofore - is produced by poisons that arise from the system's lack of coordination in eliminations.
17. Keep the alimentary canal well cleansed, even though it is necessary to take enemas once or twice each week.
18. Do these, and we will get to the seat of this condition.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Is there an absolute cure for psoriasis?
    (A) Most of this is found in diet. There is a cure. It requires patience, persistence - and right thinking also.
21. (Q) Why have I not responded more to following the treatments outlined?
    (A) The body has responded very well. There has not been the healing of the thinned walls or perforations through the small intestines, because of the lack of time and the need - now - to supply those things that work with the lymph flow through the areas - that is, the properties indicated to be taken internally, and the local applications to remove the re-infections that come to the epidermis itself.
    Do these and we will find bettered conditions.

   "...I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the lovely reading. I truly feel as though I've had a beautiful dream, for my mind is more at rest than it has been for months. I'll never be able to explain how unhappy and worried I was when I tried so hard to get rid of those places and it seemed that I was getting no better. I started the diet and treatment two days after the reading. I just can't tell you how much better I feel, in body and mind. The places on my body are fading away and I have lost seven pounds in six days. I am going to follow the reading through, every line of it..."
2. 9/25/41 She obtained 2455-3.
3. 2/21/66 Mrs. Leon M. Martin's letter, R.D. 3, Ephrata, Pa. 17522:
   "Dear Friends of Virginia Beach - when we were first at your Association in the summer of '64 my husband spent quite some time going through the readings looking for one on Psoriasis. He found one and was granted to copy it for future use. I went through with the instructions all but the last part where a low electrical vibration of the violet ray is needed, not the bulb type but the rod applicator to be held in the hand. Cayce prefers to put the bare feet on glass and hold the rod in one hand, then the other hand, for treatments. But now we don't know of any place where we could purchase one... We would be very happy to have this information. I am being helped a lot thus far in following these instructions."
