5/10/33 Her friend, Mrs. [
310], wrote: "Poor, dear [
2457]
has her hands brim full, but goes along in her [
2457]
fashion, just making the best of all, accepting what she can
not prevent or remedy.
"She is purely an inspiration to me. Her mother is still
with her [since [
2457]'s younger sister [
5684] was taken to
the asylum], except for the few hours in her own home each
day. Her dandy baby boy [
305] is getting his 8th tooth and
is a bit cross naturally, but grows fast. Her 17 yr. old
daughter [
259] looks fine, and plans on graduating from Camp
this time.
"Her husband [
3657] is purely trying himself [with drinking],
or so I would feel, I fear, if the potion were mine instead
of [
2457]'s, but she says very little to me of it all."
[GD's note: In later years Mrs. [
2457] indicated that her
husband, Mr. [
3657], was not so worried about finances and
consequently did not drink as much, so their life together
was more companionable.]
7/22/46 She reported on her daughter [
259]'s Life Rdg.,
saying: "I know my Life Rdg. is being fulfilled in 'service
to others'."
3/29/49 She wrote HLC: "Thanks for the note. In a different
way, you are as busy as your Dad was when on the earth
plane...The last birthday I like to remember was June 1944 -
the last day I was at Va. Beach - tinged with joy and the
sadness of parting - on the way back (on the train) in
meditation and memories. Did make one Congress. So many
people don't understand...Hugh Lynn, we may be peculiar to
many, but I am glad to be peculiar, in what I believe and try
to practise."
9/04/60 Her husband [
3657] died suddenly, in his sleep.
3/06/66 She died in her sleep, while visiting her daughter
[
259].
