4/21/41 Miss [
1387]'s letter:
We were most interested in [
2487]'s reading. All the things
expressed we think are true and having been pointed up should
prove to be of assistance to her at this time particularly.
It was interesting to note that the one thing she has always
taught, Mathematics, was not mentioned at all.
Most of the reading I think we understand but there are a
couple of places I am not sure of; i.e., On the first page,
6th paragraph [2487-1, Par. 7], what does the first sentence
mean, "Without respect to the emblems or the influences as
arise"?
Then in the next paragraph " - For, having been an Atlantean,
these may be used for weal or woe" - What does having been an
Atlantean have to do with how one uses tendencies?
Three paragraphs farther on we come to "The purpose for
the manifestation is that the glorification of the Creative
Forces may be made manifest; NOT as in the free thinking -
which the entity holds as tabu; neither is the cloistered
mind to be ridiculed -" This is not clear to me.
In speaking of the Palestine appearance would you say she was
a Roman or a native of Palestine? The name sounds Roman but
could have been Jewish.
In the question we asked about our having been associated
before the reading said to parallel our readings. In the
appearances given me none are the same as hers - except
possibly the Palestine one might have been at the same time.
4/25/41 EC wrote inviting Miss [
2487] to visit him while in
N.Y. so he could go over the reading with her.
5/05/41 Miss [
1387]'s letter: "[
2487] was so happy to
have been able to know you 'in the flesh' as it were. She
jokingly asked me today if I thought you were really 'still
asleep' when you told her she should study for her Ph.D."
6/03/41 Letter from Miss [
1387] to EC: "...Poor [
2487] is
a wreck from her examinations. I don't see how she could
possibly stand the strain of taking a degree. She just
goes to pieces over the examinations. She is not so strong
and it just breaks her all up. I had to keep her together
practically by the force of my will..."
8/07/41 Letter: "You certainly have started me on work. I
have been in summer school all summer and may eventually get
that degree you say I should."
1/13/42 Letter from Miss [
1387] to EC: "...I haven't seen
[
2487] in an age. She is back teaching her school and hates
it as much as ever..."
12/25/42 "At present I am busy working on that Ph.D. I still
hope to get it. I believe I have a dissertation problem but
it does not yet have official approval."
2/05/43 Letter:
I am thinking about another life reading. I was under the
impression that once you had one that was all there was to it
until you were here this time. Now I think I'd like to ask
about my future work and have a complete reading on that
colonial period sometime.
Dr. Clark was very encouraging about my dissertation last
week. Maybe I can finish this summer and then I can do
some of the things I'd like to do.
You will be interested to hear that I developed such a love
for the 46 Psalm that when I read it to my girls (home room)
they decided it meant more and want me to conduct the opening
exercises more often. You see N.J. law says that we are to
read the bible each day as opening exercises and the children
usually conduct the exercises themselves. Tell Tom Sugrue I
need the book of philosophy I asked to have written.
How I ramble on!
Sincerely, [
2487]
2/09/43 She obtained a Physical Reading for her mother, Mrs.
[
2912].
2/21/43 Questions:
1. Is it to be that I am to marry in this incarnation? If so
please tell me, if possible to whom it will be and when?
2. If I am to be reunited with my mate this time please tell
me any important things that marked our relationship before
that will influence this union? In what country and era were
we associated?
3. In the last reading it was stated I should stay in
my present position for two years. This I have done.
What specific suggestions do you make for now changing
to something in which I will be able to more fully
accomplish what I incarnated for this time?
4. If I am not to change positions Is there any karmic
condition which I am to work out here? Have I previously
been associated with my present principal and is this
affecting our relationship?
5. It was suggested also in my reading that I was to write.
Can you advise me as to the type of material I should
attempt? Should it be in connection with my present field;
ie textbooks, or perhaps presenting material for more popular
consumption; or should it be in some entirely different line?
6. Should I join the Waacs, the Spars or the women's reserve
corp of the Marines?
