Mr. Edgar Cayce,
115 - 35th Street,
Virginia Beach, Va.
My dear Mr. Cayce:-
I saw Mr. Lankford [Hon. Menalcus Lankford] the other day and
phoned you just after you had left for Kentucky. I called
Mr. Lankford back and told him the sad mission you were on.
[Dr. House's funeral] I called him again on yesterday and he
told me he was leaving at 4 o'clock for Washington and would
be gone for a few days, but would be glad to take the matter
up with us at any time upon his return.
He stated that the matter [of station house for Cayce
Hospital] would have to be taken up at Old Point first. I
told him that I saw no reason why the summer house could not
be erected on the property subject to removal upon notice and
he thoroughly agreed with me. Certainly this would not start
any precedent for the Government, as the
Chamberlain-Vanderbilt Hotel and several other private
buildings are on the Government reservation at Old Point and
I think the Catholic Church at Cape Henry.
I am leaving tomorrow for ... for ten days or two weeks. Dr.
Berger was of the opinion that it would be beneficial to me;
however, she did not wish me to leave before seeing you. I
was down again today with the hope of seeing you. I saw Mr.
Brown and Mr. Edward [Edwin] Blumenthal.
I will be glad to have a line from you at ..., Va., R.F. No.
1. I feel much improved and hope to come back still better
and resume my treatments in the wonderful Cayce Hospital.
Very sincerely yours, [

Mr. [

R.F.D. #1, Virginia
Dear Mr. [
2504]:-
They told me when we returned that you had only been gone
from the house just a few minutes. I was certainly very
sorry to have missed you. I was sorry to have missed Mr.
Lankford. It was circumstances, of course, over which we had
no control. He has sent me several communications, and I
think I have the thing in shape now, so if I could talk to
him just a few minutes I believe I could get it alright -
possibly be better for me to write him, so we will have it in
black and white - think that's the way they require it.
Certainly want to thank you for your interest in the matter,
and I hope we will be able to get it all settled
satisfactorily very soon.
Hoping you are feeling the very best, and with kindest
personal regards to yourself and wife from all, I am
Sincerely, EC:GD
