12/01/41 "I'm writing you for another Ck. rdg. This past 6
weeks certainly has flown by. I was so in hopes I'd be well
enough to go to Mississippi, Mr. [...]'s home, for Christmas,
but I'm planning for next year instead.
"I've felt real good the last few days, but last week I felt
terrible. We are having such changeable weather that it
keeps me aching most of the time. Seems that when it
suddenly turns cold my legs ache so I can hardly stand it.
I always call up Mrs. [
2526] and she's usually hurting too,
so I feel some better.
"As you know, the fall rabbit and squirrel are in. I wonder
if I can eat them, of course baked or stewed. We wanted to
know before I ate any.
"About the oil packs, I haven't missed but a very few days
taking them since the last rdg. I usually rest Saturday
and Sunday. Mother has been rubbing some oil on the driest
places before putting on the oiled cloths. Is this alright?
We thought I'd get just that much more oil, but want to do
what is correct.
"Why am I so worn out after the packs? They seem to take
all of my energy. Of course, I know I'm weak, but it doesn't
seem like they would make me so weak. [...] sometimes wants
me to go to the show with him but I just don't feel like
dressing. Is this to be expected?
"What makes me so wakeful at night? Nearly every night I
have to take something to quiet my nerves.
"Mr. Cayce, I have some old places behind my knees. They
have been there for months. At first I kept them dry
without bandages. Lately we have taken to bathing them
each day with Cuticura soap, the rubbing on the salve and
bandages. These places seem to run. They are swollen
looking pieces of skin that look like they are full of
little seeds. I can hardly describe them in words. I wish
you could tell me what causes them, and how to treat them,
if we aren't doing right. I believe they are another source
of drainage for the poison in my system, but we are worried
because they are so slow healing.
"What makes my bladder so weak? I seem to have so little
control at times. Is there anything I can do about this?
Should we use the cocoa butter all the time or just during
the menstrual period?
"Mr. Cayce, is my disease catching? It had never entered my
mind until one day a negro we had refused to rinse out the
cloths Mother puts over the pack. Is there any connection
between my condition and an old disease I had when I was
about eight years old? Can you tell me the cause of my
condition? I've always been so well and active that we
just can't understand what has caused this.
"This seems to be nothing but questions but hope to get a
very informative reading.
"I never have understood what you meant about the oil
bandage. Guess I'm just dumb!
"Thank you so much for your kindness.
"Any time you set for the reading will suit me. I'll be
here at home."
