8/10/42 Letter from [
2514] to EC: "I received my rdg.
Saturday. I looked for it Thurs. and Fri., and was so
afraid it wouldn't come Sat. It is the most disturbing
rdg. I have received yet.
"We have studied and worried about the solutions, and, as
yet, we can't figure out what we have done wrong. I want to
tell you just what we do and you see where we are failing.
We charge the machine every 25 to 30 days usually about the
thirtieth day. Every 45 days we change the solutions. That
is giving 15 days treatment for each solution. The gold we
have made up all at one time at the Drugstore. We use the
four ounces and put the rest in a sealed jar in the dark.
The camphor we buy at the store (4 oz.). Then Mother fixes
the Atomidine 1 ounce Atomidine to 2 oz. distilled water.
Having the machine all fixed we were expecting to see
great improvements. Perhaps we aren't wiring it correctly?
Mr. Godfrey told us to connect the machine directly to the
body and not run it through the connections on the side of
the box. Is this all right? He also sent a separate short
wire for the 3 solutions to run to the negative pole. Is
this all right?
"Then he sent some plain tops for the bottles to keep on them
except when it is in use. He said to put the tops with the
leads in the bottles 15 min. before connecting the wires.
Is this all right? We clean the plates and connections every
time. We just can't imagine what we have done wrong. The
only thing I know that I've done is that this last time I had
to use the Atomidine for the 16th time. When we started to
fix the bottle the Atomidine had spilled out and there wasn't
an ounce. I got some from Mrs. [
2526] and the 17[th] day it
was new. Can you possibly tell me what I am doing wrong?
"About the salts packs? Oh my! We don't know what to do!
How often should these be given? Should they be put on
these blisters and places behind my knees? On the sores?
Can you tell me about what proportions the salts should be
to a certain amount of water? Please see if you can't tell
me a little more about these. Looks like I'll just have to
take my bed, doesn't it? Or do I take the Salts packs and
the Oil Packs the same day?
"I hope these aren't too many questions, but we have been so
upset about things since Saturday. I do so want to do things
right and it is awful to try so hard, then to have something
go wrong.
"Hoping to hear from you soon..."
8/13/42 Letter from EC to [
2514]: "Have yours of the 10th
- am sorry you are upset about the information in last rdg.
- do not see from your description where you are wrong in
any thing in the application of the appliance, but with
the enclosed directions check it over again with what you
are doing and see if everything checks - can't from your
letter, tho, see where anything is wrong.
"The use of the epsom salts packs - only when you are in real
pain or stiff use it almost saturated solution, that is, say
dissolve 1 lb. in 1/2 gal. of water something like that; no,
would not go to bed, only as you have to take the treatments.
Believe this will ease you up a lot, you will just have to
try it and see if it is too hard on the raw places, believe
would be better to put gauze over the sores and places like
under your knees before putting the salts on - when dry or
it gets a bit crusty, take off.
"Try this out, Mrs. [
2514] do hope you will soon be feeling
much better - write me again about this, never too many
questions, but think you have everything in shape - only
check with the instructions and am sure you will have it
right.
"With every good wish,"
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
"Just had announcement Miss [
528] just got married."
9/10/42 Letter from [
2514]: "I am writing you for another
ck. rdg. Any time will suit me fine.
"For a while, that is the past 3 wks., I felt terrible. Both
of my hips on the sides were so awfully sore that I could
hardly stand it. I have this huge sore on my right hip, so
naturally that hurt a lot. Honest, Mr. C., you just can't
imagine anyone having a place so big on them. This past wk.
I've been able to get a little rest so am feeling better.
"I do so wish I could cure up behind my knees. Is there
anything else I could try? I want to hurry up and get to
walking again.
"We haven't had much success with the Salts packs. I've been
so sore I couldn't stand the heat. The back of my legs are
softening real nice, but the top is still firm.
"What causes this place on my right side that is so sore?
Why does it keep peeling off? Is there any relief I can
get from it?
"I'm looking for some good news in this Rdg."
