2514]'s letter to EC: "I want to write you for
another ck. rdg. Any time that you set will suit me fine.
I'm so in hopes I'll get some real good news and some more
treatments this time.
"We are all so encouraged over my improvement. Of course I
still have bad days but the good ones make up for these. My
knees are clearing up fine and I haven't had any bad sores
for a long time. If I can just keep on improving everything
will be all right before long. Seems like ever since I've
been sick my whole family has had more trouble and work to do
than ever before. It has been a constant struggle to keep up
the treatments but we are now seeing our rewards. If any 2
people have 'stars in their crowns' it will certainly be my
mother and my husband, for they have certainly worked with
me. I have been just that much added work to their already
full days. For 5 yrs. now [...] has massaged me every night.
God has been so very good to me. He's kept my baby well and
strong for I wasn't able to nurse him if he should get sick.
He's given Mother strength to do the work of 2 or 3 people.
I only hope and pray all the work won't break her down. I
hope the day won't be far off when I can stand up so I can
take some things off of her. I can hardly wait until I can
bake [...] a chocolate pie for he loves my pies so.
"Our family is being broken up next week. My brother is
leaving next Wed. for the Army. We hate to see him go, but
most of all we hate for him to have to leave his little new
baby. They have a little new baby girl only 2 wks. old.
It's going to be so hard on him to have to leave the precious
little baby. She's my namesake, so of course she's very dear
to me too. I am so afraid [...] will have to go. His number
is AWFULLY LOW. We are praying that he won't have to go.
However, if he does, we'll just have to make the most of it.
Let's hope the War will be over before they have to break up
the American families. For it certainly takes two to raise a
child.
"I certainly do hope I get a good rdg. this time. In taking
the lamp should it be placed over the middle of my body?
Mother says it doesn't get on my feet good. She thinks maybe
I should use it on the upper part of my body then on my lower
part so I'll be sure and get it all over. What is correct.
"We certainly did get a scare the other day. We needed some
zinc but couldn't find any. They said it all belonged to the
Government and they couldn't sell it to us. [...] got a
lineman to give him a small piece off his truck to charge it
this time. Then the next day he found a piece at a small tin
shop. This war is hard on me. Everything I need is rationed
- beef, grape juice, etc. I only hope I can keep on getting
the things I need.
"These are my questions: (1) Should time on light be
increased? (2) What can I put on my feet to keep these red
places from itching so bad? (3) Should I continue beef
juice, grape juice, Acigest, Calcios?"
