TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, there is rather a complication of disturbances as prevent the better physical functioning of the body.
4. These arise partially from conditions which have long existed with the body. Gradually they have grown into complications because of the effect upon the circulation, especially as related to the hepatics; thus affecting all portions of same in the present.
5. Then, these are conditions as we find with this body, [2521] we are speaking of, -
6. The blood supply indicates that there has long existed this unbalanced metabolism, with a subluxation existing in the cerebrospinal system; which has produced, gradually, a condition in the area of the gall duct that is affecting the hepatics, - the liver and kidneys, the heart, as well as the superficial circulation in the present.
7. Thus there are the inabilities for resistances to be builded in the body.
8. These as we find are the sources of the disturbances, with a complication of the effects of the poisons in the system attempting to be eliminated through other channels.
9. As we find, aid may be given. As to curative forces, - this will depend upon time and upon responses the body may make, the consistency with which the applications are carried out that will be necessary.
10. For, with the complications, the various disturbances should be taken into consideration; and the conformity to the effective forces through the bodily functions will be taken into consideration at the varied times.
11. First, as we find in the present:
12. For one hour each day for three days in succession we would administer the hot Castor Oil Packs over the gall duct and the liver area. These need not be so hot as to become uncomfortable, but apply at least three thicknesses of flannel saturated in the castor oil; not just pouring on the oil, but wringing out the flannel in the oil, see? and apply directly to the body (to the skin, you see). Then place over the Pack an electric pad. Keep this warm, so that the body will absorb all that is possible of the oil.
13. Following the third Castor Oil Pack, at the end of the third day, you see, - give internally two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.
14. Rest from the applications three days. Then repeat the whole procedure, - the three days of the Packs, followed by the Olive Oil internally.
15. THEN, - after the second round of these applications, and after the Oil has acted, - have a HIGH COLONIC IRRIGATION.
16. THEN begin with a tonic, which would be prepared and taken in two compounds, alternately; one every two hours, for at least forty-eight hours.
17. One would be prepared in this manner:
18. To a pint of rain or distilled water put 2 ounces (by weight) of green Mullein, with the flower. Let this come not quite to the boil, - just simmer. Strain, and keep cool. Mix with this 1/2 ounce of Grain Alcohol, and a level teaspoonful of beet sugar, preferably - not cane sugar. If beet sugar may not be obtained, use a level teaspoonful of honey that has been boiled.
19. The dosage of this would be a teaspoonful every four hours; that is, the other will come between, you see.
20. Prepare the other compound in this manner:
21. To 2 ounces of Distilled Water add 1 tablespoonful of Strained Honey. Let come to a boil, then skim. Then add, in the order named:

    Grain Alcohol........................1/2 ounce,
Tincture of Stillingia...............1/2 ounce,
Essence of Wild Ginseng..............1/2 ounce.

22. The dosage of this would be a teaspoonful at least every two hours, or BETWEEN the taking of the other compound.
23. In the diet, - keep strength-building foods; as fresh grape juice, sipped. Press the grapes and save the juice from same. At least an ounce to two ounces of this during the day will be most nourishing and beneficial.
24. Take at least a teaspoonful of Beef Juice during a day; not the beef, but the juice; not more than half or a third of a teaspoonful at a time, and this merely sipped - not taken all at once, but sipped, so that it is almost assimilated from the activity produced by the salivary glands - and this swallowed.
25. Other than these, the body make take whatever it desires in the diet; though do not give too much starches.
26. Of course, plenty of water should be taken at all times, - sipped; preferably not too cold, nor too warm.
27. Each evening before the body is prepared for rest, - or following the sponge bath each day, whichever is preferable, - massage the body with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil. Do this especially along the whole of the spine, and across the area of the diaphragm.
28. Later we will advise electricity of the low nature, but do these things suggested first.
29. Begin the tonics after the second series of the Packs, you see. Keep these then for a week. THEN have the third series of the Castor Oil Packs, followed by the Olive Oil.
30. THEN we would give further suggestions.
31. DO THAT.
32. Ready for questions.
33. (Q) Should present treatment be continued?
    (A) If so desired, but these things indicated here should be done.
34. (Q) What should be done to relieve the pain in the leg?
    (A) If we will remove the poisons from the system, as we are preparing to do here, we find that even after the first of the applications - and the eliminations are set up by the Oil - the pain will be MUCH relieved; that is, after the first series of the Packs, see?
This is the pressure of poisons upon the nerves of the limbs, - and the rubs and the packs will aid in relieving the disturbances. These are effects, not causes. The causes are the poisons from the subluxations in the hepatic circulation. Hence we have poisons from both the kidneys and the liver that disturb the body.
Do as indicated, and when these have been carried out we would give further instructions.
35. We are through for the present.

Copy to Self through Mrs. [...], daughter
    Copy to Ass'n file
(See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Castor Oil Packs, also Pure Beef Juice.
See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] for druggist in preparing one compound. We would refer you to Bill Meredith or Mr. Ingram at Meredith's on 17th St.
For preparing the compound with the Mullein, we suggest that you get in touch with Mrs. John Verhoeven, at her mother's - Mrs. Ben Gimbert's in Oceana, and get her to help you gather the mullein and make the compound, as she has had experience in preparing a similar compound for her mother. She will be glad to help you with it.
Let us know when you have completed the full line of treatments recommended, so we can make an appointment for a Check Reading to give further instructions.)
