Present: Edgar Cayce; Hugh Lynn Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

Time and Place: 4:00 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Tenn.

TEXT

  1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.
  3. In some respects the body shows improvements, more in the lower extremities than in the upper part, shoulders and arms. These have drawn considerable, - the tautness across the small of the back, across the upper portion of the limbs.
  4. We would massage these well with Unguentine, following the Oil Packs as we have indicated. Not that it should be bound on, nor merely spread on, but gently massage as much of the Unguentine into the body as will be absorbed. Then spread a cloth with same, as a dressing, or an old cloth, and leave on same until the evening - when it would be removed and then the areas bathed off with warm soda water, rather strong; that is, about a tablespoonful of baking soda, level, to a gallon or gallon and a half of water - to be used as a solution for bathing off these portions.
  5. Where there are stiffened areas, apply the saturated solution of Epsom Salts; not so hot as to be uncomfortable, but sufficiently warm to relax the body - when these are very stiff.
  6. Keep up the rest of the treatments. If there is broken tissue, apply a lotion or an ointment made of Ichthyol, or Ichthyol Ointment.
  7. These as we find are the things for this body.
  8. Do not sit or sleep in draft.
  9. Do not get overheated and too soon cooled off.
  10. Do these, and we should keep the body on the improve.
  11. Ready for questions.
  12. We are through for the present.

  1. 10/13/42 Mrs. [...]'s letter: "Mrs. [2526] of ..., Conn. recommended you to me - wanted me to write you about my baby."
  2. 8/31/43 Mrs. [2514]'s letter: "Is it absolutely necessary that I take the osteopathic treatments? Dr. Winn [James A. Winn, D.O.] refused to treat Mrs. [2526], so I'm afraid he'll refuse me too."
  3. 5/15/44 Mrs. [2514]'s letter: "Guess who came to see me the other week? Yes, Mrs. [2526]. They are in ... now and she was just passing through on her way to Nashville. She has been taking treatments (ex-ray, etc.) from Dr. King [at Vanderbilt Hospital?] for quite some time. I think she looks mighty bad but she seems to think she's better. I do wish she could progress like I have."
