Mr. Edgar Cayce
Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce,
This is the first opportunity that I have had to write you
giving you the history of my case. In 1936 this condition
came on me in my room in the Hunington Hotel in Hunington Pa.
It was a very sudden attact [attack] that put me on my knees
with very severe pain in the pit of my stomach and running
back to the spine to the third and fourth Dorsal. I was in
this condition for three days with a Dr. all the time and did
not get any relief until I called in a Chiropractor he gave
me relief and was able to get some sleep. In this time I had
lost forty three pounds. I had complete Exrays taken and
from this time to 1938 was in three Hospitals for
observation, I also took eighteen continuous treatments
Abrams Methods in Brooklyn N.Y. In this time the Medical men
told me I had everything Gall Stones, Stomach Ulcers, Cancer
and what have you. But about this time I ran across Dr.
White from Penn Yan New York and also had been taking
treatments from Dr. Stinebaugh Dean of the Universal School
of Chiropractors in Pittsburgh. With the help of these two
and also some things that I had worked out for myself I knew
that the Drs. that I had first was talking through there that
because I would have been dead or a lot worse, which of
course was not the case as I had gained considerable strength
and also started back to work. The trouble I had was
combining what I knew about myself, the M.D.'s advice and the
Chiropractors. I might also say that every Exray and all of
the tests that they ran at the Hospitals and I think they
gave me all of them turned out to be negative.
I feel that you have combined all of my trouble and also gave
me the information that seemed impossible for me to get, I
have taken four treatments from Dr. Newman and also have been
taking the medicine. Dr. Newman said that you had surely
called the cards on me and was very enthusiastic about it all
and I am very sorry and so was he that I couldn't stay in
Birmingham to complete the job, but now I am home for two
wks. I hope and will continue with Dr. Pike of Albany, who I
believe is very familiar with your methods.
I would like you to know that I more than appreciate your
help and have responded to the treatments also that I knew
the time that you had contacted me in the reading and when
you were through. I checked it with my watch.
I am also very thankful to Mr. [
470] and Mrs. [
1100] for
telling me of you and I think that you will agree when I say
this would would be a lot better off if we had more people
like both of them.
Yours very truely, [

[Letterhead:] One of Kentucky's Finest Hotels - Henry Clay
Hotel - Fireproof - 150 Rooms - Herbert R. Smith, Manager -
Ashland, Ky.
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I thought perhaps that you would like to hear from me in
regards to my treatments. I have finished the first half and
have a course started on the second. Was very fortunate in
as much as after I had taken four treatments in Alabama I
came home and had a three weeks vacation and also had a very
good Dr. Of course while I was home I could do and get
anything I wanted and the second week I was home all of the
gas that builds up completely disappeared and no one only
myself knows how much better I felt.
Since starting back to work again I have not been in one
place long enough except for Pittsburgh where I had four
treatments from the same Dr. This of course isn't so good
and not only that but it has been just about impossible for
me to get raw milk and I have had to discontinue the Acigest
for this reason and have wondered if you could tell me a
different way to take it. I didn't think it fair to myself
or you to continue this without letting you know, not only
that but I do know how my system took in the Calcios and also
that I feel a great deal better with a great deal more
endurance than I had before.
Trusting that you might be able to help me on this question
as you have helped me before.
Yours very truly, [

2546]'s letter [from Henry Clay Hotel] to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
Enclosed you will please find my check for $10. for which I
would like very much for you to give me a check reading. I
expect to be here until about Jan. 15th and would like very
much if you could give me the reading on a Saturday or Sunday
as this seems to be the only time that I could be sure of.
As I have told you I am a thousand per cent better in every
way and have not had a sign of an attack until this last
vacation when I went home for Xmas and think that this was
brought on because I was over tired, fortunately it was a
light one but was very sorry to have any as I know that it
will cause my wife to worry.
I of course have finished the treatments in my first reading
and have tried to follow it as closely as possible, but have
slipped up on the Acigest as I told you before and wish that
there might be some other way to take it as it is nearly
impossible to get raw milk, also any suggestions as to
holding down my weight will be appreciated as I have gained
about twenty pounds and think that I am getting too heavy.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish you and Mrs.
Cayce a very happy New Year and also thank you for all that
you have done for me.
Yours truly, [
