8/29/41 GD's ltr. to Dr. Saxmann:
Dr. Harriett Saxmann,
7236 Yale Avenue,
Chicago, Ill.
Dear Dr. Harriett:-
We are suggesting that Miss [
2579], ..., Ave., Chicago,
bring her Physical Reading to you for interpretation and
help in carrying out the treatments suggested.
As I understand from the Reading, though you may interpret
it differently when you have examined her after having read
the Reading, she has a condition bordering on sclerosis
(cirrhosis?) of the liver - and the warnings are given as to
elephantiasis tendencies; unless something is done about it.
For the last 7 or 8 months she has not menstruated, and
within the last year she has begun to increase in weight
very peculiarly. Her skin has also become pimply and
unattractive, whereas previously she was a perfect specimen
as to figure and complexion.
The Reading outlines treatments as follows:
Atomidine - 1 drop in half a glass of water each morning
before breakfast for five days, leave off five days, then
take again five days; continuing in this ratio until six
to eight rounds - while would mean, as I understand it, a
period from 50 to 80 days; that is, such a period covering
the taking of the Atomidine AND the rest periods between
each series.
THEN she would begin with taking 1 drop of a Gold Solution
(Proportions being prepared by adding one grain Chloride
of Gold to 1 ounce Distilled Water) and 2 drops of a Soda
Solution (proportions being prepared by adding 3 grains
Bromide of Soda to 1 ounce of Distilled Water) in half a
glass of water each evening for 3 days; leave off 3 days,
take again three days, and so on for 5 to 6 rounds. This,
as I understand, would cover a period of another 30 to 36
days - including the period of taking the Gold-Soda AND the
rest period between each series.
THEN - which would be 80 to 116 days from beginning the
treatment, and not before that - she would begin having
the low electrical vibration from the short wave electrical
forces - that is, the Diathermy. At the same time, and
WITH such electrical treatments, or by the same one who
gives them, she would have a gentle massage with a
combination of oils prepared in this manner:
To 1 ounce of Olive Oil, heated, add - in the order named:
Tincture of Myrrh.............1 ounce,
Peanut Oil....................2 ounces. Use this
especially on joints of the limbs and the neck, and
across the diaphragm of the body.
This last would be the treatment which I feel you could give
her, but I suggested that she get in touch with you right
at first so you can help her understand the Reading - and
her own condition as described in the Reading, and also
encourage her to follow the directions to the letter, not
adding anything to nor taking anything from them.
THROUGHOUT the period, from the very beginning, her diet
is to be watched carefully. She is to keep away from
combinations of starches at any meal. Fried foods are
not to be taken. There are certain foods to which she is
allergic. Consequently, she is not to use such foods with
any of those that grow above the ground, but only with those
that grow under the ground. For instance, tomatoes are not
to be taken with corn, peas or beans, but rather at the same
meal with potatoes or the like. She is to eat plenty of
foods - such as salsify or oyster plant, especially - that
carry the salts tending to eliminate the hardening tendons
of the body.
The Reading indicates that the Atomidine would be too severe
a glandular cleansing without being followed with the
Gold-Soda properties in the manner indicated. However, she
will not notice much change in her condition during the
taking of the medicinal properties; only after the
electrical treatments and massages are begun. Consequently,
for the first 3 to 4 months she need not expect to be
benefited outwardly by the treatment; but after that she
should begin to see changes rapidly - if she will stick to
the diet and to the other treatments.
The information is very encouraging provided these treatments
are followed; otherwise MOST serious conditions may gradually
develop.
If we were close to Miss [
2579] to talk with her and
encourage her, I feel that she would understand the
importance of carrying out the instructions and feel
impelled to do it. As we are not, then I am asking you
to please help her all you can. You are the only one I can
think of in Chicago who has had personal experience with the
Readings, whose word might have some weight with a stranger
just coming into the picture.
Anything you can do, I assure you, will be greatly
appreciated. Miss [
2579] is the niece of a very dear
friend of ours, whom we'd love very much to help.
With kindest regards to you and Dr. Robert from all here,
I am
Sincerely, Gladys Davis, Secretary to Mr. Cayce
