1/04/29 EC's letter to [
2597]:
Mr. [

..., N.C.
My dear Mr. [
2597]
I certainly didn't think - when I last saw you in Asheville
- that it would be so long before I wrote you a line to tell
you how much I enjoyed being with you and knowing you better,
and meeting your family, and how I appreciated the kindness
and courtesy shown me while I was there. But soon after
leaving Asheville I went to New York for a couple of days and
contracted the "flu" while I was there, and have been "laid
up" until the last two days. So I had rather a feverish
Christmas.
I certainly hope that things have been well for you and
yours, and that things have been going along nicely. You
will let me hear from you, won't you?
I want to ask if they have had the opportunity to ship out
the part of the furniture that they said was on hand, and to
have some idea of when we might expect the rest - so that we
can make our plans and arrangements regarding the Hospital.
I would appreciate your letting me hear from you regarding
this.
With kindest personal regards, and asking to be remembered to
your family, I am
Sincerely, EDGAR CAYCE [EC:GD]
