This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of Mrs. Robert R. M. Emmet, 1 Grace Church St., Rye, New York, this 12th day of November, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self and husband, through Mr. David E. Kahn, Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2617].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the better physical functioning of the body.
4. These in their main or specific cause are from a glandular disturbance, which affects through the nerve forces of the body.
5. It is not present associated with that called multiple sclerosis, yet it is of that nature that causes physical inertia - or the so easily tiring as to prevent, without a great deal of rest, the supplying to those coordinant forces or centers between sympathetic and cerebrospinal nervous system sufficient energies for stimulating the circulations through the body of blood and lymph.
6. Thus we find days when the body feels fairly well, others when EVERY condition - the assimilating system, the optic forces, each of the sensory organs - is lacking in the activities sufficient to produce near normal activity.
7. To be sure, these also give the lack of abilities for the proper eliminations, as well as assimilation; so the headaches, with a little nausea at times, are also a result of this general debilitation.
8. Those activities that produce this, from the glandular effect, cause the inability of the system to keep a coordinant activity of the proper chemical balance through the body. Those elements lacking, when combined in chemical terms, are gold, silicon, and those that supply the effluvia in the blood for coagulation where used energies are distributed and eliminated from the body.
9. These, then, are the conditions as we find with this body, [2617].
10. They produce in the blood supply quite a variation as to blood pressure; slowed pulsation at times, and at others - for a little while, with sudden activities - a very quick pulsation, with a concurrent activity of inertia; almost to the point as of a fainting, or of such slowing of activities as to produce cold, clammy conditions in portions of the extremities, especially.
11. In the nerve forces, as indicated, there is the lack of stimulation. But because of the lack, there is the inability of the adrenals as well as the thyroids to produce sufficient of those activities from properties taken within the body. However, as is found, though there may be changes in the diet, in the adding of this or that chemical force to the body, these are rarely - in the present - assimilated; or these do not respond normally in this particular body.
12. Thus all of these conditions must be taken into consideration.
13. No ORGANIC disturbance as we find is indicated, rather weakness - as in the quantity and quality of the lymph and emunctory circulation. There is often a slowing condition in the respiratory system. Hence at times the conditions through the lungs, the throat, the bronchi and larynx. Sympathetically such conditions have their reflex in the sensory system, or the impulses as of suggestive forces from exterior force of the body.
14. At times the digestive system rebels at properties as might be taken.
15. The liver becomes sluggish or overactive, as does the pancreas and the kidneys. For, these are the counterbalances, to be sure, in those portions of body that are affected BY dietetic reactions.
16. In making applications for beneficial effects for this body, we would add these in this way and manner; and these are the effects they would have upon the body:
17. First, begin with taking one minim of Atomidine in half a glass of water each morning before any meal is taken. This, of course, is iodine - or that effect in the system needed not only to quicken the circulation but to purify such glandular forces of the body.
18. Take the Atomidine in this manner for ten days.
19. THEN begin with the use of the low Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold and Camphor alternately, one used one day, the other the next. The Appliance would be attached each day for thirty minutes, as follows:
20. One day, when using the Gold Solution (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water - and use at least four to six ounces), the large nickel plate - through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially - would be attached at the umbilical and lacteal duct center. For this body, this would be four fingers - or the hand's breadth - to the right of the umbilical cord or navel center, and two fingers above that point. Then the small copper plate, attached last, would be attached to the 9th dorsal center, or between the 8th and 9th dorsal center.
21. The next day, when using the Camphor (commercial strength Spirits of Camphor), the larger plate would be attached over the liver plexus - or that area just between the last rib AND the cardiac center of the stomach, to the right side, see? while the smaller plate should be attached to the 3rd dorsal center, between the 2nd and 3rd dorsal center.
22. Continue rotating these attachments; using the Gold one day, the Camphor the next.
23. Keep the attachment plates clean.
24. This vibration should be with the extra charge; using then, for this body; to the gallon and a half of Distilled Water for the charge:

    Copper Sulphate.....................2 pounds,
Sulphuric Acid..................1 1/4 ounces,
Zinc................................2 drams.
NO amount of Charcoal. Do not use Charcoal in this
particular solution.

25. Charge the solution for at least a day before it is attached to the body, see?
26. Each day following the use of the Appliance, massage the body thoroughly with Pure Peanut Oil; this the whole length of the cerebrospinal system, particularly on either side of the spinal column. This should be applied in a rotary motion. Begin at the base of brain and come down on one side, then go back on the same side. Then come down the next side and go back on that same side, massaging all that the body will absorb. Then massage it across the abdomen, especially the area across the diaphragm; that there may be the absorbing for the organs of assimilation much of those properties as stimulate activity not only to lymph but to the organs there.
27. Then the diet:
28. Mornings - each day take one of the cereals OR the fruit juices (not both at the same meal, however) that carries a great deal of the B-1 vitamin. The re-inforced cereals, dry or cooked, are well. DO take, during the morning meal, ONE drop of Wheat Germ Oil. Preferably, for this body, take that prepared by the Lawrence Laboratories; this in solution, NOT in the form as prepared by some other pharmaceutical companies; ONE drop during the morning meal, see? This should be continued throughout the period of the treatments for the body.
29. Noons - take especially beef juices; not broths but beef juices; not more than a teaspoonful, and take at least three to five minutes to sip this quantity, a little bit at the time. Follow same with vegetables soups, GREEN vegetables; as lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, celery. These should be a part of the diet each day, whether at this particular meal or at others.
30. Evenings - well cooked vegetables, especially the leafy and of the green nature; beans, lentils, salads, ALL of these should be a part of the evening diet. Fish, Fowl or lamb should be the principal meats.
31. Not that these would be the only foods taken, but these should be the things stressed in the diet for the three meals of the day.
32. Do these, and be consistent and persistent.
33. When there is the use of the Appliance as the body rests, with the taking of the Gold and Camphor through same vibratorially, as indicated - let that be the period for meditation and prayer. KNOW that the physical being has its counterpart in the spiritual. Let thy prayer then be, though in thine own words:
34. FATHER, GOD! HEAR THOU THY SERVANT, AS I SEEK TO KNOW THY WAY WITH ME. USE MY BODY, MY MIND, IN A SERVICE TO THEE. THUS BRING THOU THAT HELP, THAT SUSTENANCE AS WILL STRENGTHEN ME; THAT I MAY BE A CHANNEL OF BLESSING TO THEE.
35. We are through for the present.

The osteopath, Dr. Austin, lives in ..., is treating her in full accordance with the readings and is very anxious to see and know you as he himself feels his ability to carry out the readings.
