11/41 [
2628]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce;
I am asking a friend of mine to give you the enclosed check
for $20.00, which is a Good Will offering from me to the
Association for Research and Enlightenment.
Of course no gift is ever tendered without hope of some
return, and so I shall look forward to receiving from you
such literature and information as you may feel that I am
entitled to receive. And if you can do so, I would
appreciate loads of personal help, which I am sorely in need
of.
Unfortunately I cannot come to you for personal readings, but
I am sure that distance does not afford any barriers in your
work. I am unable to come to you because in the first place
I am not in good health myself, having a very bad X-ray burn
on my neck brought about many years ago upon the removal of
my right breast and subsequent treatments. In addition to
being held back due to that infirmity I am earning my living
by nursing. My patient needs me at all times, and due to his
peculiar malady [alcoholism] it seems to create difficulties
without end whenever I do try to leave anyone else in my
place for a few hours.
Naturally I have opposition in my position and it is to help
me get away from that that I am asking for your help. One
who has been associated with my patient for many years -
shall be known as [M...] is a great thorn in my side, and her
removal from my immediate surroundings would alleviate my
sufferings.
1. Is there anything I can do to overcome the effects from
the X-Ray burn on my neck [which I have had since 1922]?
2. Is there any way I can keep my patient from being annoyed
by those who are constantly trying to get money from him?
3. Is there a chance of his getting rid of the camp, which is
so cold and disagreeable for me?
4. Is there a chance of my patient providing for me in case
of his death?
5. Is there a chance of my getting married and having someone
to take care of me? 5-1/2. Or am I going to keep my
position?
6. How can I eliminate from my ken the maid my patient has
had for many years, who is such an annoyance to me?
7. Should I give up my position and go into psychic work
myself?
8. If I should get married, would I meet in the future this
man who is now my patient?
