This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of December, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2640], through Mrs. [1935], recommended by Mrs. [808], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body, answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2640].
3. As we find, the body is somewhat on the improve from those conditions which have existed in the body. While there is still much to be desired, these are the conditions as we find them with this body in the present:
4. There has existed an infectious force through the system, producing an excess toxic condition. This having allowed or caused the disturbance to arise in the appendicial area, there have been operative measures. Thus a recuperative condition exists.
5. We find that this disturbance in the appendicial area has been rather the effect than the source of the infection.
6. As indicated from the condition which has existed and does in the present exist to a great extent in the gums and teeth, - these are a source or supply of infection.
7. This has been produced by the lack of certain chemical elements necessary in the body-chemistry. Thus this portion of the system working against the other has produced a source of infection. This gradually being absorbed by drainage through the alimentary canal has reduced those abilities of the body to assimilate properly without an excess of acidity and those tendencies for infections to be carried throughout the alimentary canal; reducing the resistance in the lymph carried through the alimentary canal.
8. Thus the source of infection, the source of disturbance in the assimilation, the conditions that have been a part of the general conditions of the body.
9. As we find, there may be advantage taken of the conditions that naturally arise from the body-rest. And there may be added to the body-supply in the present that as may aid in bringing about a better equilibrium; aiding in eradicating the sources of this disturbance to the body.
10. We would begin, and for three days each week, before the morning meal, take one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water. Take, say, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Then leave off until the next Thursday, and so on.
11. Also begin with the use of the low Wet Cell Appliance that carries into the system, alternately, Chloride of Gold and Spirits of Camphor; one used one day, the other the next.
12. The first day, when using the Gold, - attach the copper plate to the 4th lumbar, while the large nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water), would be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus.
13. Next day, when using the Camphor, - attach the copper plate to the 9th dorsal center, and the nickel plate, through which the Spirits of Camphor Solution passes vibratorially (commercial strength), to the area over the liver duct, - which would be about four fingers straight above the area of the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus (and where the Gold attachment has been made).
14. Let the Appliance be used thirty minutes each day, you see; one day with the Gold, the next day with the Camphor.
15. When the body has sufficiently recuperated, DO have the teeth and gums treated. But begin now with the use of Ipsab as a massage for the gums.
16. These do.
17. And DO be mindful of the diet.
18. Do not undertake exercises too soon. Be mindful that the food taken is that easily assimilated.
19. Do have good assimilation and elimination of that taken. Thus be governed by those activities.
20. DO take CALCIOS about three times each week; the quantity as would be spread upon a whole wheat cracker - preferably at the evening meal.
21. Do these, for the better conditions for this body.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) Will the infected area be entirely healed so that the organ will function normally again?
    (A) When there has been brought about better chemical reactions in body, yes.
24. (Q) Was the operation recently performed on me necessary to remedy the cause of the infection?
    (A) Not necessarily necessary, unless there had become or been shown greater activity; though as we find, under the conditions, it was well.
25. (Q) Any further suggestions?
    (A) Do these things if we would make those conditions in the system near normal.
26. We are through for the present.

    Two copies to Mrs. [808]
    Copy of Ass'n file
(12/15/41 GD's note: See extra sheet of directions [which was enclosed] to be sent to Mr. Marsden Godfrey, 2709 Lafayette Blvd., Norfolk, Va., who will prepare a Wet Cell Appliance for you. See article [which was enclosed] explaining theory of this type of Appliance. Mr. Godfrey also has some of the Ipsab on hand.
CALCIOS is manufactured and distributed by Colloidal Health Products Corp., Atten. A. A. Nichoson, Greenvale, L.I., N.Y. It sells for $2.50 a jar. According to the Readings it is the best way of assimilating free calcium.
At your convenience, please let us have a history of your case to the time of obtaining the Reading, so we may have something with which to compare our information. Also please fill out and return the enclosed regular membership application for our files.)

BACKGROUND

1. 10/10/41 "They took her appendix thinking that might cause the infection in the eye."
2. 12/05/41 Mrs. [808]'s letter: "[1935] asks for a Physical Rdg. for a friend of hers - isn't exactly an emergency but is quite serious and doctors haven't been able to help her."

REPORTS

1. 5/25/50 GD's note: She told E.C.F. worker that she didn't follow the reading; a friend tried to interest her.
