REPORTS

  1. 1/14/42 Daughter [1866]'s letter to EC:
    Mrs. [...] ..., Ohio
    Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Thank you for taking the reading on mother so promptly! I was nearly frantic when she kept getting worse. She had not been feeling well for several weeks but would not give up and when she did consent to a doctor she had acquired a serious heart condition.
We took her into the Hospital Tues. Dec 30 - We had three doctors & House nurses but she past on Friday, Jan. 9 about 9 P.M.
Her services were beautiful & were held Monday at 3 P.M. I am just heat-broken.
    Most sincerely, [1866]
  2. 1/17/42 EC's ltr. to [1886]:
    Dear Miss [1866]:
Thank you for letting me know regards your Mother. Sorry indeed to hear of her passing, can appreciate your sorrow, am sure those of us who have experienced just such, can sympathize with those just experiencing same; tho my own Mother passed on in '26 still miss her as if it were but yesterday. But we know they live on, they have only gone through God's other door and we must not sorrow too much for them, only causes them sorrow, but so live that we may as they, pass in that Faith that HE doeth all things well.
Was quite sure knew of your Mother's passing with the message from your father, but that is another story.*
May His Strength be yours now - for HE is the Resurrection and the life and our Faith in Him will carry us through.
Hope you are well and with all good wishes to you and the Dr. [2227]
    Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
  3. 1/20/42 Daughter [1866]'s ltr. to EC:
    * [GD's note: In a dream during 2646-8 EC heard Mr. [287], the husband say [who died 2/01/38]: "No, No, Mr. Cayce - [2646] wants to come on - don't stop her, please."] Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I received your lettr to-day. Thank you so much for such comforting thoughts!
You spoke of having a message from my father. Would it be too much trouble to tell me, I would so love to know:- Was it in a dream or during a reading?
    Sicerely, [1866]
  4. 1/23/42 EC's ltr. to [1866]:
    Dear Miss [1866]:
Thanks for yours of the 20th. Please know I was not trying to get your curiosity up at such a time, nor do I wish to appear curious or out of the ordinary, but am sure you know that your Father and I were very close for some time. He took many of the readings, and we discussed many phases of the work. Naturally we discussed Life after death. There was never a pact, as to any such thing as communication - if such were possible - rather the understanding the one would assure the other if such could be. Your Father's passing then meant a great deal to me, for he was one of the best friends a man ever had.
The first time had any message from him was a good while ago, regards word would have from Mrs. [2415] [sister of [2646]], and sure enough few days after did have a letter from her this came in a dream. Then when the young man [[2321], son-in-law of [2415]] passed on, during a reading your Father spoke, telling that he had passed on, neglecting to do some of the things that had been suggested. Then few days later we had the letter telling us he [2321] had passed. But when had your wire, and undertook the reading for your Mother saw him [287] during the reading he said - "No, no, Mr. Cayce, [2646] wants to come on; don't prevent her", - but the reading [2646-8] gave as you had.
That is why was very sure knew when your Mother passed - Just know they are very happy together now.
Do trust all is well with you - and that HIS Mercy and Grace will keep you at this time. Only those of us who have lost our parents realize just what it means. Thanking you, with all good wishes
    Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
  5. 1/24/42 Sister [2415]'s letter: "Guess you knew of my sister [2646]'s passing. I don't think she has been very happy since [287] went on. She was terribly lonely."
  6. 1/31/42 EC wrote her about above experience.
  7. 2/26/42 Mrs. [2415]'s letter: "That was certainly a peculiar incident when you were going over [2646]'s body, how [287] came to you. Do you often have things like that happen?"
  8. 3/04/42 EC's reply: "It was unusual to have such an experience when getting a reading, but have had such before, but not very often - a very positive assurance to me of a consciousness in after life, though know I cannot prove or show it to anyone else - but bears out much we may read in the Scriptures regarding such."
