Mr. Edgar Cayce
Ass'n of National Investigators,
Virginia Beach, Va.
My dear Mr. Cayce:
I have just finished looking over for the tenth time I think
the Life Reading which you sent me. It is very interesting
and instructive. Each time that I look it over it suggests a
new line of thought to me. Of course, knowing nothing about
the phenomenon with which it deals I am totally unable to
give an intelligent opinion on it; but these Readings have
proved so accurate and comprehensive from the physical
standpoint that I have come to have a childlike confidence in
their expositions.
It may be interesting to you to know that I have been reading
a great deal along this very line during the past year - a
strange coincidence - , and have become very much absorbed in
some of the theories advanced by this branch of science. I
believe that a certain amount of study along this line is
very beneficial, especially to some people - my type, for
example - and it is certainly fascinating. But I am also
aware that too much introspection tends to make one self
conscious, and to much delving into things of the mystic
world makes one impractical and unfit for the commonplace
duties of the world in which we live. If I were economically
independent I should be tempted to give most of my time to a
study of these things, so deep is my interest in them.
This reading offers one explanation, a very reasonable
explanation for some of the troubles, mental and physical
that I have been having. And since I have no explanation at
all, and know of no one who has, I am bound to accept for the
time being the conclusions drawn there and am bound to try
for the present the suggestions offered. That part relating
to personal characteristics I know to be correct, and the
rest, I have no reason to doubt.
As I am not entirely "out of the woods" physically, I feel
that it necessary and worthwhile to follow up the other
Readings as suggested. We might get something very helpful
by doing so. Just as soon as you have the opportunity I wish
you would do this. If you find it convenient and possible to
give these Readings on an evening, please wire me, "collect",
the date and hour, to be at ..., this city. If this is not
possible, I should like to have same arranged for a Saturday
afternoon or Sunday morning, next, if suitable. In this case
you will have time to write me the hour that you choose.
With many thanks, and best personal regards, I am
Sincerely yours, [

P.S. Our system of delivery here is such that a "Special"
