This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of August, 1928, in accordance with suggestions given by Mr. [900].

Present: Edgar Cayce; David E. Kahn, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. Edgar Cayce, Mr. and Mrs. [900], Mrs. [136], Mr. [2694], and Mr. L. B. Cayce.

Time and Place: 5:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

TEXT

  1. DEK: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [2694, present in this room, and the business associations and relations of this body, with special reference to the real estate holdings in the Cavalier Shores and Ubermeer property in Virginia Beach, Va. You will give this body any advice that will help him solve his present problems, and you will answer the questions that I will ask you.
  2. EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, [2694], here, and those associations and business relations and conditions, and as reference to real estate in Cavalier Shores and Ubermeer, Virginia Beach, Va. In reference to these conditions, much may be given as respecting conditions as would eventually arise as respecting property in those districts; for, as has been given, this is in the district that has been given would advance so in price. The conditions to be met are the PRESENT EXISTENT conditions that are URGENT. There is at the present time the tendency for real estate to be on the down, or the inactivity in such; yet these hold, and these treated with those activities that will yet in the present season occur IN the district, may be made profitable - especially with those from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. THESE channels offer the best opportunity of disposing of such at this PRESENT time. These peoples, who may be interested in such, will be in the vicinity, or Beach, during the week of August fifteenth. Now find 'em! They'll be here!
  3. (Q) Does the body [2694] know which of these -
    (A) (Interrupting) When he meets 'em he will know, yes! Seek them. We won't give it all to him. They'll be here!
  4. (Q) Shall he accept trades in this deal or outright sales?
    (A) Outright sale of these. We have given.
  5. (Q) Should he consider the building of additional property this year?
    (A) Not under present circumstances and conditions!
  6. (Q) Is is advisable for him to take on land holdings this year?
    (A) In some MANNERS, yes.
  7. (Q) What is the best section for the land itself for future investment?
    (A) From 24th Street to 117th Street [GD's note: 117th later became numbered 79th].
  8. (Q) What will be the effect of land values and real estate values after the [Cayce] hospital at Virginia Beach is completed?
    (A) And in operation. There will be an advance in SECTIONS adjoining, though not very close, save in those in the same territory that would be used as holdings for those that would be in touch with the work considered there.
  9. (Q) Will the body be able to handle the present financial emergencies until these deals come through?
    (A) Two weeks? Yes.
  10. (Q) What should the body be careful of when these deals begin?
    (A) Just handle the deal!
  11. (Q) Are these people coming with the idea of paying good prices for property?
    (A) If they have to!
  12. (Q) What is the near future's value for real estate in general at Virginia Beach?
    (A) After the present year or season, an advance in all properties - especially in district as given; for the most improvements will be within that district.
  13. (Q) Is there room for another big hotel at Virginia Beach? that is, from an investment standpoint?
    (A) Room and RUMORS also of same!
  14. (Q) Would an apartment house be profitable at Beach?
    (A) Further up, yes - after another season.
  15. (Q) Which would be the best place to build an apartment house?
    (A) In portion of Ubermeer district.
  16. (Q) On the beach or away from beach?
    (A) Away - but not TOO far a distance.
  17. (Q) Will there be additional improvements in the way of city development in the neighborhood?
    (A) Of necessity, through the conditions as are in the district.
  18. (Q) Would newspaper advertising assist in interesting the people who are yet to come?
    (A) Yes. Handle in the proper way and manner, and especially in these places given - Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
  19. (Q) Would personal letters to certain capitalists who have made reservations at the hotel tend to interest them upon arrival?
    (A) Not much.
  20. (Q) What other advice should the body have to give a stronger foundation to his business and his business interests?
    (A) Much may be said on this. Dependent upon the phase, or the nature of the advice and in what directions same would be sought. In the financial and of same - don't get SCARED; but keep self straight and right. It will work out in time.
  21. (Q) Would it be advisable for [2694] to take into partnership with him certain men he knows in New York and who are now interested in certain other propositions with him?
    (A) Be well next season. Not at present.
  22. (Q) Will next year generally be a good year here?
    (A) Should be the beginning of the best, for there will be nearer stabilization; for much will be weeded out in the next twelve to fourteen months.
  23. (Q) Will [2694]'s connection with the hospital of psychic research aid him in developing his affairs?
    (A) Dependent upon the manner in which same is used!
  24. (Q) Is there any further advice for [2694] as to how he can assist the hospital to be successful?
    (A) Be a booster! We are through.
