6/26/42 [
2746]'s letter to EC:
U.S.S. [...]
Dear Mr. Cayce
A few years ago I would have no more thought of writing
a letter like this, than I would have thought the Divine
Master was a part of us all. Even today it surprises me.
You have seen hundreds of us, the average American youth.
Most of us are taught that, there is a God, (on Sunday
mornings), that He should be thought of (once in a while),
that He should be worshipped and feared (secretly), but
seldom if at all that He should be loved. That He is in some
far distant place called Heaven, but never that He is a part
or around us. We don't really have to worry about Him till
our shoulders begin to sag.
Our chances to realize our Lord are very slim. Yet deep
within, some of us are quite sure we should treat Him
much better. But what do we do about it? We could do
something, but we have been invited to a party tonight
and that's important. Anyway He's a good fellow. He
will understand and wait.
The majority of us are not capable of thinking. Our minds
have a "One Way" sign tacked up. When some one brings up a
new subject, if it strikes our fancy, all is well and good.
If it doesn't our minds close like the shell of a clam.
That's what happened when I first heard of you. You to
whom I shall always owe a debt of gratitude. Mr. Cayce
the process of eradicating that "One Way" sign and opening
my mind to thought has taken nearly five years. Now I am
beginning to see out ahead. If that fog of uncertainty
settles on my course again, I know my Reading will guide
me to safety.
I'm sorry I've taken so long to thank you, but better late
than never. My best wishes for you and yours.
Sincerely, [

Mr. [

..., Conn.
Dear Mr. [
2746]
Thank you for yours of the 26th - I appreciate your letter
more than will ever be able to tell you. I know and realize
Mr. [
2746] the information in the Life readings is some times
hard to understand - and one might easily pass it off as a
fancy tale, but when it answers to something within, well,
it isn't so easily laughed off. It is such experiences that
makes life worth while to me, for can I be a channel to point
my fellow man to the way of LIFE and GOD - then it is indeed
worthwhile - thank you for telling me of how yours struck
you.
May His Blessings Keep you ever - and am sure you will find
Him near at all times to give you that Peace He promised to
all who would accept Him as their friend and Brother. Know
we are glad to try and help at any and all times. Had a very
lovely meeting this year, wish you might have been with us
- we were privileged to have Mrs. [
2454] and Mrs. [...] and
their contribution to the meeting was real to every one here
- just hope they felt it worth their time and trouble in
coming.
Thanking you again and with all good wishes.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
