5/31/49 Wife [
2454]'s report: "[
2746] is now hydrographic
officer on a cruise to Iceland - two floating laboratories
right along together, only one is several miles from the
other. He is studying under Dr. Sherwood, head of
Oceanography Institute in Washington, D.C., and Dr. Schipps,
head of Oceanography Institute of La Jolla, Calif. They are
taking tests of the ocean currents, remapping them; will go
to England, then through what they call the Atlantic ridge,
or the other side of old Atlantis, clear down to Lisbon,
Portugal, and then to Africa and back up across; be gone
about two months or more.
"I told [
2746] to keep every scrap of his tests, personal
notes, etc., even if it didn't seem important. I saw some of
their notes on how the earth and the ocean were formed, and
it is pitiful the little information they have to go on.
([
2746] has been made Lieutenant Commander.)
"He had a choice; could have chosen a particular spot, but he
said he would go wherever he was sent. It is wonderful how
God works things out if we will just leave everything in His
hands. This is a great opportunity for [
2746], in line with
information we've gained from the readings of EC, and there's
no telling how far-reaching the effect may be of [
2746]
having such close association with the top ranking men in the
oceanography field."
3/29/51 GD's letter to [
2746]:
Dear [
2746]:-
As perhaps you saw from the recent Newsletter, Tom Sugrue is
writing a book on prophecy. I've just sent him the address
of Commander Walter M. Wynne, U.S.N., who is an expert in
oceanography - has maps of land changes - Tom wants to get
permission to use the maps in his book. [See Source Key file
#2746 for Commdr. Wynne's Outline Map of the U.S.]
It has occurred to me that while you are stationed in
Philadelphia you might get a chance to go visit with Tom and
tell him what you have experienced in your tests and
re-mapping of the ocean currents during the last two years.
You and Comdr. Wynne might find much in common, too. I'll
give you the addresses:
Thomas Sugrue, 33 Riverside Drive, New York, N.Y.; Walter M.
Wynne, 160 Park Avenue, Elberon, New Jersey (Box 235)
Love and bye for now, [signed] Gladys
Your maps and tests, being more recent, may be of more help
to Tom than Comdr. Wynne's.
P.S. Hope you'll be coming home soon.
P.S. #2 Also how about [
877], your third Life Reading told
you to meet, since you'd been close in the Gobi land? He is
at ...
2/27/52 Wife's letter: "...[
2746] likes his job here, in the
field of 'propaganda' and is doing real well; only wish he
would be able to follow the same line all the time. I wrote
some of his lectures and he really got the comments. Guess
it disturbed a lot of set ideas. He was complimented by the
commandant, so guess he won't get kicked out of the Navy.
Then this a.m. his captain asked him if he would do one on
Bacteriological Warfare, so think this should be a good one
to get our teeth into..."
2/20/63 GD's note: Mr. [
2746]' has continued to be actively
interested and helpful in the A.R.E. work.
