TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2763].
3. As we find, while there are a great many conditions that apparently upset the better equilibrium, there is little that may be called organic disturbance. Rather is there the tendency towards a functional disorder, as of a body needing recharging.
4. Thus, while varied disturbances cause anxieties, these rather come and go, and change about, - save those that are a part of the sensory system.
5. These, though, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [2763] we are speaking of, present in this room:
6. The blood supply is low in vital energies, as indicated from the nature or character of disturbance; though as to pressure, as to numbers in leucocytes and red blood, and the like, these vary according to the abilities of the body to rest sufficient, or to be in the open air sufficiently, or the change of diets.
7. These all change or alter, and thus indicate rather the functional disturbances, even through this portion of system, rather than any organic nature; either in the heart, liver or kidneys, or lungs; though all at times, through the nervous forces of the body, become so fagged as to be upsetting, - but the disturbances are functional rather than organic.
8. In the nervous system, - here we see the reflexes that cause or indicate the greater portion of the depleted feelings and expressions through the activities in the body.
9. As has been indicated, the organs of the sensory system are close to what might be called organic disturbances; so that the activity of the throat, the eyes, the auditory forces,t he sense of smell and the sense of taste suffer the more through the nerve depletion.
10. But as we find, these may be materially aided by the adding of energies or forces as to materially change these conditions.
11. Also, as there is naturally the close functioning or association with the nerve forces of the assimilation or digestion, the intestines and stomach at times cause anxiety. There is rather the nervous indigestion, or the condition where the things that agree at one time apparently disagree at others. Yet with exercise or other activities these may pass to a great degree at times.
12. With these general upsettings, naturally there are reactions through the functioning organs. But, as indicated, there is little or no organic disturbance, but sympathetic nervous conditions as related to the functioning.
13. Thus the necessities of constituting to the activities such conditions in the present that will aid in eliminating those tendencies of accumulation of drosses in varied portions of the body.
14. Take little or no internal medicines, - while diet, hydrotherapy, and body electrical forces of the low nature will be most beneficial (that is, through the using of the Radio-Active Appliance).
15. Very soon, then:
16. We would have at least once a week the very gentle but very positive hydrotherapy treatment, until six to eight to ten treatments are administered. These should include, at least through the six week period, two or three colonic irrigations; not only to cleanse the colon but to give a stimuli for better eliminations.
17. At the same times these are taken, have a very gentle sweat, - this, however, should not be other than a vapor sweat; not dry heat, but the wet heat - as of a fume bath. Add one teaspoonful of Witchhazel and twenty drops of Rosewater in the pint of water that would be boiling in a cup, or a spray, or a fumigator - as in a croup cup or the like, in the cabinet.
18. After such a gentle sweat there would be a rubdown with Pine Oils all over the body, gently; especially the areas across the lower portion of the spine, or the sacral and lumbars, across at the 9th dorsal, between the shoulders, and especially the neck and throat; to stimulate a better circulation and a coordination in the activity of the sensory forces of the body.
19. We would also have, or use regularly at home, the Radio-Active Appliance. This will enable the body to gain strength and recuperative forces. Have this applied at least thirty minutes twice each day, if at all practical. When ready to retire of evening would be one good period to apply it, and when or if practical use it for thirty minutes in the morning. And for this body, attach it for five days to the same wrist and the same ankle, before changing to the other wrist and ankle, see? Be sure that the Appliance is in the ice for at least ten or fifteen minutes before it is attached to the body. Keep the attachment plates clean. This will give better coordination, making the extremities more in accord with the body and the fluid circulations as related to lymph and nerve and muscular forces of the body.
20. In the diet, - keep the body-building forces, but keep sufficient each day of the food values that tend to make for sufficient bulk for proper eliminations; such as prunes, figs, raisins, whole bran. All of these should be included at least once each day in the food values. Have plenty of sea foods, too. Have these at least twice each week.
21. Do these, consistently; we will have better coordination and bettered conditions for this body.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) May anything be done to improve eyesight?
    (A) Better coordination created not only by the vibratory forces of the Radio-Active Appliance reacting in body, but those stimulations in the massage and rubs will aid in correcting - or stimulating normalcy.
There has been a continual tendency for a throat condition because of the circulation between the central nervous system and the sympathetics to the optics, as indicated, - or those centers from the 3rd and 4th dorsal to the 3rd and 4th cervicals have been low in their stimulation to the sensory forces, owing to the manner in which the body was carried in its presentation at birth.
24. (Q) The throat?
    (A) The same as just indicated.
25. (Q) Sore gums?
    (A) Here, as we find, the best is to keep down the acidity in the body, and to massage same with Ipsab or an equal combination of salt and soda. Use the salt and soda at least twice each day. Use the Ipsab about every other day. And once a week massage the gums with just Spirits of Camphor.
26. (Q) To stimulate correct bowel movement?
    (A) As indicated.
27. (Q) Where and to whom should I go for these treatments?
    (A) To Reilly's. The Appliance may be used by self.
Do these things, and we will make for better conditions for this body, [2763].
28. We are through for the present.

Copy to Self (two copies, one for Dr. H. J. Reilly, The Reilly Health Service, 1250 Sixth Ave., RCA Bldg., New York City - see note [which was attached] to him)
    Copy to Ass'n file
(See folder [which was enclosed] regarding Radio-Active Appliance and where obtained; also Ipsab. When writing about the Appliance, ask if they have one in New York that you may borrow or rent for the period needed.)

REPORTS

1. Remarks to GD after Reading: Is here on a short visit to her daughter, Mrs. [...], ... St., whose husband works at the Naval Base. She was walking from the church and passed this house, asked whose it was, and the lady told her it was a doctor - someone who went in a trance and told people what was wrong with them. She immediately decided to come and get a Reading, as she had been suffering all her life and had been so ill-treated by doctors. Had all her teeth taken out unnecessarily when she was 20 yrs. old and has had sore gums ever since; very anemic and rundown, though worked hard all her life. Said she intended to follow the Reading and felt she would get results.
2. Undated - GD's letter to Dr. Reilly:
   Dear Dr. Reilly:-
Attached is a copy of Physical Reading for Mrs. [2763] who has been the rounds with doctors and has suffered for years. She has come to us as a last resort and we are sending her to you. She is in very moderate circumstances, so we'd appreciate your showing her every consideration in regard to price of treatments, etc.
I am sure that after a few of the Fume Baths recommended here, she will feel like a new person.
Thanking you for past favors and for this, I am
Sincerely, [signed] Gladys Davis Secretary to Mr. Cayce
