Time and Place: 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Virginia.

GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions as I ask them:
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2778] this we have had before.
As we find, as has been indicated, there is slow but sure progress in the corrections that - if the correct mental attitude is kept towards self, towards others, for the cause that lies within - will bring about better and better physical abilities for the body to handle or control self.
In the present we find that the superficial nerves of the limbs are gradually being enlivened, the hips and the knees are little by little being strengthened.
We would continue the applications for the carrying of certain medicinal properties vibratorially into the system, and continue with the massage.
The massages as we find are very, very good. We would massage more in the bursa of the feet; as under the toe, in the instep and in the heel. The increasing of stimulation in this direction will cause the nerves of the ends of the sciatics to be enlivened. This sill make twitching sensations at times in the calf of the leg, under the knees, and in the thighs, but these will not be too aggravating - and will indicate to the body that there is being reestablishing the communication, as it might be called, between the lower limbs or the locomotories and body-forces.
These we would keep, then, in the manners as indicated.

(Q) Why do knees and elbows sometimes ache?
(A) This is the attempt of the circulation at times to come through. Such effects may be expected at times. Thus the manner in which changes are suggested, of a minor nature, in the treatment for the feet and the extremities.
(Q) What causes occasional swelling in feet and legs?
(A) The body attempting to adjust itself.
(Q) Should I be able to discard one or both braces within the next year, if treatments are continued properly?
(A) Whether it's next year or in the next century, do you want to carry on or do you want to just quit! These depend - it is not a question as to whether the effect will be created, but as to whether there is the coordination between mind, body and purpose. Whether this comes tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, or the year after - all time is one time. It may be accomplished tomorrow. Are you ready for it? Ask yourself those questions, rather than how soon it is going to be - when is it going to happen. It will happen when you are ready for it! Are you ready?
(Q) Would it be advisable to take vitamins - in what form?
(A) For what? There is being supplied to the body those energies in their proper proportions. Resistances are being supplied vibratorially. There may be an overabundance of vitamins. Most of this is fad, save as to what may be necessary to create a balance. If there is a proper balance in the diet, you do not need extra vitamins. And you are eating very well! You have a very good diet, a very well balanced diet in most meals. We wouldn't upset it. We would keep to the right way.
(Q) Any further advice, physical and spiritual?
(A) As indicated these must be coordinated - purpose, desire, hope, and the application in self should be in accord with the administrations being made.

Dear [1523]:
Just a short note to wish you well and to hope that everything is working out right for you - since being home, among my family and friends the thought and conviction has occurred to me, that more than likely I wasn't as understanding and loving with you, as I should have been, since my main, expressed desire, was to help you find yourself, and I am deeply sorry, and in future, if you so desire it, I will do everything within my power, to be kinder & more tolerant - and if our ideas aren't always in agreement, maybe in time, we can both be open minded enough to see merit in each others ideas - after all, we can learn something new each day.
I won't be coming back for several more weeks as my heart has gone temperamental, and requires rest & more rest - I'm not low or discouraged about it as I've always known that every once in a while I'd have to stop & cater to it for awhile - and it has behaved exceptionally well for years - So -

5/18/49 Report by former employer to GD: "[2778] always asks about you when she writes. She says she's getting new braces and going to be able to wear silk stockings and her own size shoes at last. She's getting along fine - is taking a business course, learning to do stenographic work - to add to her bookkeeping. [2778] is a good bookkeeper. Of course she does manicuring, too, but her long-suit is bookkeeping. She's at the same address: ..., Pa.
10/27/54 Report submitted by [1523] who did the massaging, etc.:
After the first Physical Reading was given for Miss [2778], I was asked by GD, to deliver the reading and go over it with Miss [2778], explaining or clarifying any points that might be questioned. In addition to following through with this request, and because I felt so sorry to see anyone in such a physical condition, I made arrangements for Miss [2778] to have a room (and board) with my mother [1541], who lived right across the street from me, and further engaged my father [2051] to make a rub-down table - had the heat cabinet made and wired, and generally setting everything in order so that the treatments could be carried out. In the Beginning I was to have had help [934] with the massaging. I had offered to massage 2 or 3 nights out of 7. In the final analysis, I did all of the massaging. So far as I can remember now, the treatments extended for almost 2 years, beginning in August 1942, and running until May, 1944. During the course of treatments, I learned that the patient had been in and out of hospitals or institutions for Polio from the time she was stricken until her late 'teens. At least 3 or 4 major operations were performed on her feet and legs and thighs, to relieve the drawing in her legs as well as prevent the toe, ankle and knee joints from becoming crystallized. She wore braces which fitted around the thighs, holding the weight of her body from her hips up, when she walked. She spoke often of having no home life and felt that she was not wanted by her parents and in particular - that her mother didn't wish to care for her. I have no way of knowing whether or not this was true, but she felt her "rejection" strongly, and often referred to it.
Three months after starting the treatments the patient was able to stand without crutches or braces, and for the first time in her life bore her weight on her legs. However, she could not keep her balance, not stand for any length of time.
By the spring of 1943 the improvement was so marked that the muscles were beginning to respond; for instance her toes, and the muscles inside the knee would move. The feet and toes which hung from the ankle as if they were broken, showed signs of control, with the texture of the skin changing. Thus, in the first months, her progress was outstanding and her attitude was optimistic, construction, and expectant. As suggested in the reading we were following the treatment, just as outlined, including the attempt to exercise in the water. This coming in the fall of the year, made it necessary that we go to a pool. It was such a chore - this part of the treatment was not followed more than 4 attempts at exercising in the water (salt water pool).
September 15th 1942, she had a life reading, this giving her further information (or ques) as to the "why" karmicly speaking - she had Polio.
By January, 1943, she was beginning to look forward to the attention the treatments were providing her with. The focus of purpose apparently shifted from getting well to RETAINING THE CARE. As she persisted in this attitude, the therapy sessions became strained, and disturbing to both of us. The insistence on personal attentions - perhaps seeking the "babying" she had felt deprived of all her life, made it necessary that we attempt to reach an understanding of what our individual purposes and desires were. At this point I asked her, "Would your rather have the personal attention, or would you rather walk?" and she replied, "I'd rather have your personal attention, if I would have to choose between the two."
Following the second physical reading we tried prayer sessions for a while hoping to improve the situation. This did not change the situation and by July she was undecided as to whether or not she would continue the treatments. Several times she had threatened to discontinue - and I urged her not to do that.
March 9th, 1943 she had a check Life Reading on the period from which this karmic condition seemed to come, and both she and I were given a different slant on the picture, giving a better understanding of the responsibility of each - one toward the other.
July 6, 1943 a check Physical reading made it quite plain that she should continue the treatments [see third Physical Reading, 2778-4, Par. 15-A]. Following this the pressure increased as various members of my family became involved - taking sides, etc.
Finally, after a year and eight months, she said to me one day - "I'm not going to take any more treatments" and this time I made no effort to talk her out of it. She left Virginia Beach and I did not see her again.
In March, 1951 she wrote that she was using "shorter crutches" and wearing braces only from the knees down. The crutches were "almost like canes" and they were "much better and less confining than the old ones." In the same letter she said that she had kept the treatments up until 1946, but since she left my mother's home and did not take the equipment with her, I would assume that she kept up the rubs, as best she could do them herself, leaving off the rest of the treatment.

12/14/55 Mrs. [1523]'s letter to Miss [3286] attempting to answer her questions about the karma of polio, since Miss [3286] did not obtain a Life Reading. Copies of Miss [2778]'s Physical Readings were sent to Miss [3286] and this brief in re her two Life Readings:
Briefly - however, this girl [2778] was a daughter of mine in a previous incarnation. This was explained to her in her life reading. When she asked about my interest in giving her the treatments, she was told that "I should - I had neglected her enough in the one [incarnation] just before this". At that time I felt such responsibility that I made the mistake of taking the entire blame for her condition this time. This was partly based on the fact that I knew from my own life reading, some of the events, and thus my inclinaiton to go all out in fulfilling my "karmic" debt to her. This was also partly due to the fact that I did not know how to properly read between the lines in her reading. Later when there was a great deal of pressure as a result of our relationship [See Par. R3 above] - she asked for a check life reading on that period. It was then that she was told that my responsiblitity to her had it's limits, and pointed out that her karmic violation in the period previous came from "willfulness". Then upon checking her first life reading it could easily be seen that she had set the karma for Polio in motion in the Atlantian period, an incarnation in which she had been responsible for many losing the use of their limbs. This explanation may be so brief, as to not be very helpful to you in understanding this case, but time does not permit me to go more into detail just now - this aside from the fact that it is very difficult to do via mail. I could and would be glad to go over this with you in person, making suggestions for treaments for you, etc., should the opportunity present itself. I would like to further comment that I do not think that Polio comes from murder, nor do I think that this case would typify the source of karma for all Polio cases.

5/09/68 Mrs. [1523] gave A.R.E. this letter which she had received from Mrs. [2778], dated 5/07/68:
Am curious to know just what possible purpose was served in the lies about me and the distortion of my Life Reading in the book about Mr. Cayce by Noel Langley. [EDGAR CAYCE ON REINCARNATION, pp. 252-253] This bears witness to my evaluation of you 25 years ago as a heartless, vain woman who was going through the motions of doing good solely for her own advancement. I did give you credit for being truthful then, now I know what a phony you were.
If there is any honesty in you, you will tell Hugh Lynn and Mr. Langley that you sought me out AFTER I had the first Reading, insisting you were going to help me and refused to take "No" for an answer.
It was you who presented herself at my lodgings at the Beach and picked me up bag and baggage and took me to your Mother's home, where you expected me to sit alone in my room night after night.
It was you who resented your Mother welcoming me as a member of the family and begrudged the food I ate, even though it was being paid for at the going rate and I did dishes and gave manicures in gratitude for being treated like a human being.
It was you who resented it when I made a life for myself and finally left your Mother's home when you were so obnoxious, accusing me of wanting an unnatural association with you - It takes an evil eye to see evil when none is intended! It was you who later sought me out on the Beach, not once, but many times - professionally as well as socially. You came to my hotel several times on your own accord without an invitation. You were very happy to accept my hospitality!
If Mr. Cayce were functioning today he would never allow such license with his material. Surely, you and Hugh Lynn know, as Mr. Cayce said, "Ye must pay for every jot and tittle." If the rest of Hugh Lynn's speeches and writings are as false as my history was made I shall not be at all surprised to read in the papers one day that he has been stricken with the inability to think or speak.
The whole matter is in the Lord's hands - He takes care of all problems. I have long ago forgiven your misunderstanding and mistreatment because I hope not to have any further associations with you in this or any other life.

7/16/77 Mrs. [2778]'s letter: "...The one I want at this time is 2778-2, Life, [given] 9/15/42...Will be waiting to receive it, as a friend is going to paint my Life Seal..." [Her Life Seal is mentioned in 2778-2, Par. 4--6, 10, 14, 17.]
7/21/77 Letter to Mrs. [2778] with copy of 2778-2: "...You mention in your letter of July 16th that you plan to have your Life Seal painted. If it is at all possible and not too much trouble, we would appreciate having a copy for our files. Please read and study your reading and know that we are interested in what you think of the information..."
