This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of July, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2785], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her daughter, Mrs. [...] and by Miss [2778].

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2785].
3. As we find, there are disturbances which prevent the better physical functioning of the body. These in their primary cause rise from influences or pressures brought to bear from an outside or external force, which have brought about these as results.
4. While it will take a little time, we find that a great deal nearer normal conditions may be brought for this body.
5. There is a wrench, or a twist, in the pelvic bone - at the lumbar axis; causing the right limb even to be shortened - by contraction.
6. This also, with the compound condition that exists in the 8th and 9th dorsal centers, brings about the lack of proper eliminations; tautness to the nerve forces of the body; with sympathetic reflexes to the sensory system, - as portions of the vision as well as hearing are gradually being impaired.
7. With the lack of eliminations there is gradually the bringing about of a form of anemia. Also with the leaving of these poisons in the system, the ankles, knees, hips, elbows, shoulders, all at times cause a great deal of pain - especially when there is a great deal of certain elements in the air.
8. All of these, that make for a reflex condition to the organs, are the basic sources of the disturbance as we find for this body.
9. In making applications as would be the more helpful, or the most beneficial, -
10. First, we would have a colonic irrigation.
11. Then, at least twice in one week, we would have a thorough relaxing through the hydrotherapy treatments. These should include, first, a gentle relaxing with a very light cabinet bath, but more of the fume bath. And for this body use an iodine fume bath; that is, put nearly a teaspoonful of ATOMIDINE (which is atomic iodine) to a pint of water that would be so heated as to allow the fumes or steam from same to settle over the body while it is in the cabinet.
12. Following such a fume bath there should be a thorough rubdown with a combination of three parts Peanut Oil and one part Olive Oil - for this body. Let this be principally along the cerebrospinal system, across shoulders, across the hips, and especially across the area at the top of the pelvic bone, see?
13. After these two hydrotherapy treatments have been given, not before, we would begin very slowly to make corrections osteopathically. Let Irvin make these. Have two or three adjustments, - not hard, not all attempted at once, but have three in one week, see?
14. Then rest from the applications for five days.
15. Then have another series of four or five of the hydrotherapy treatments, - these about once or twice a week.
16. Then have another series of six or eight osteopathic adjustments, - these about twice a week, - this time include the corrections in knees, and especially in feet and limbs. Then include those in the area of the 8th and 9th dorsal, and in the lumbar and sacral areas. Then coordinate the upper dorsal and cervical area TO same.
17. In the matter of the diet, this should be such as to supply a great deal of energies for the body.
18. At times there are the needs for sedatives, for the headaches - that are from this unbalanced condition as well as the excruciating pain, especially if there is any dampness. Hence we would take Aspirin, but do take the Soda-Mint tablet with same - the Bicarbonate of Soda in pellets, see? Two Aspirin tablets and one Soda-Mint tablet - only if these become necessary, when there are the needs for reducing the pain.
19. As the corrections are made, we find that the stiffness in limbs, the shortness even in breath at times, the pain and nervousness through the body will gradually disappear.
20. Ready for questions.
21. (Q) What should be done for insomnia?
    (A) The removing of these pressures will allow the body to rest much easier.
    When there is the second series of the osteopathic adjustments (not before), we would begin with a little electricity every evening - using the hand machine violet ray, with the bulb applicator. Use this about three minutes across the shoulders, shoulder blades, down at least to the waist, but not over those corrected areas in the pelvic portion, or the sacral - but down to the waist line and then up to the neck, around the head, around the ears. This will relax the body. This should not be taken until there is the beginning of the second period or series of the adjustments, see?
22. (Q) What can be done to improve memory?
    (A) These corrections should be taken.
23. (Q) Frequent dizziness?
    (A) All of these conditions arise from the same sources of disturbance.
24. (Q) What produced the exterior pressure?
    (A) Accident of some nature.
    Do these things.
25. (Q) What causes the skin condition?
    (A) Poor eliminations! When these conditions are cleared up, and the better vital forces are supplied in the diet as there are better eliminations, this will be much improved. In fact, we should have little or no cause for the skin trouble after the first colonic - and one should be sufficient.

    (See extra sheet [which was enclosed] for Dr. James R. Parker's nurse, in the Bankers Trust Bldg., who is to give you the colonic. This is to be your very first treatment.
    After resting a little from the colonic, - take the sheet of hydrotherapy directions to Miss Jane Witcher, in the Taylor Building, Norfolk, Va.
    When Miss Witcher has given you a week's treatments - that is, two full hydrotherapy treatments as indicated - then take the entire copy of your Reading to the osteopath, Dr. C. W. Irvin. You do not go to Dr. Irvin until you have had one colonic and two full hydrotherapy treatments.
    When Dr. Irvin has given you the first week's treatments - three in one week, then leave off everything for five days.
    Then have another series of four or five treatments from Miss Witcher.
    Then return to Dr. Irvin for another series of six or eight osteopathic adjustments, in the manner indicated.
    If everything is not clear, please call us.
    When the time comes for the violet ray, we suggest that you obtain a hand machine and use the bulb applicator at home - as it should be used of evening, and to have the ultra-violet in the doctor's office would not produce the relaxation needed in the evening. Some beauty parlors carry this type of violet ray, or it can be obtained from any good drug or electrical supply house.)

REPORTS

1. 7/20/42 Remarks following reading: Fell about year ago and hit head on concrete. Since then has been unable to raise right arm higher than chest; also very painful at times. Before the fall, used to have trouble with right ankle and knee; white and brown splotches on skin (like psoriasis) had 15 yrs. Have ringing in ears like that when taking too much quinine; extremely nervous, unable to sleep; hearing bad at times; very dizzy quite often. Feel sure the Rdg. is going to help me. I want to do everything it says.
2. 3/19/43 Daughter referred Mrs. [2939] for a Physical Reading.
3. 5/26/52 Comment by IMG: "Yesterday I saw [...], Mrs. [2785]'s daughter. She told me that her mother had followed her reading that that it had helped her. She was very sure of that. She also told me that in 1946 her mother was burned to death. She was standing close to a stove to get warm, her clothing caught on fire and that she was so severely burned that in one week she died. Said she suffered terribly. Her other daughter was also burned badly in trying to save her and spent months in the hospital.
