This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of August, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2800], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. Nancy Lansdale.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2800].
3. Now, as we find, while the body in its functionings is very good in many respects, there are hindrances which prevent the better physical functioning. And with these corrections in the present, the body would be better fitted physically for those activities and those contributions this entity may make to the welfare of many a cause or purpose that may be done through individuals in this experience.
4. We find that the disturbing factors have to do with what might be called degenerized body-functioning. And there needs to be those applications that would assist the body to be revitalized in the central urgencies of the body-functioning.
5. While there is little or no organic disturbance, the tiredness that arises from fagged nerve energies and plexus through the body causes such a slowness of activity in many of the functionings of the system as to lack the abilities to properly revitalize.
6. Hence we find the blood supply and the whole metabolism, while not unbalanced exactly, is irregular. And with the physical or mental energies used, there is a slowing at times and at others a very quick pulsation.
7. Also through the nerve forces we find at times in the extremities - the arms, the hands, the lower limbs - a heavy, leaden feeling. At times there is not exactly a headache but rather an uncomfortable feeling, - not entirely clear as to whether it is from the reflex action through eyes, ears, taste, or the sensory system, or whether it is a tired headache. There is a little fullness in the throat at times, a heaviness through the lungs, in the abdominal area and across the pelvis - as a tired heaviness.
8. As we find, with this slowing up of energies, there is the tendency for the poisons or used energies of the body not to be eliminated properly through their correct channels. Not that there is a general excess lack of proper eliminations in the alimentary canal, yet there are toxic forces through the colon, as well as through other portions of the body, that cause this pressure upon the nerve forces of the body-energies.
9. Not that it is a glandular disturbance, as yet, though it may become such unless measures are taken to eradicate these conditions.
10. In making administrations for this body, then:
11. First, we would have a series of hydrotherapy treatments. Under the direction or supervision of such as Reilly we would have these. Have them twice a week for the first four to six. After that, once a week. In the first series take at least ten such treatments.
12. Each of these general hydrotherapy treatments would include, first, a very light dry cabinet sweat, then the fume bath. And for this body use an equal combination of the Witchhazel and Rose Water, about a teaspoonful of each in the container that will allow the steam to settle over the whole body.
13. Then there would be the needle shower of hot and cold water, followed by a thorough rubdown using this combination of oils:

    Olive Oil..............2 ounces,
Peanut Oil.............2 ounces,
Lanolin, dissolved.....1 teaspoonful.

14. Mixing these thoroughly, use as a massage over the whole body.
15. During the first or second week, do have at least one good colonic irrigation. If there is the continuation of indications of mucous in such a colonic, after a rest period of some time, - say at the end of the first series, - have the second colonic.
16. During the second week of the treatments, during that five day period take one drop of Atomidine in half a glass of water each morning before the meal is taken.
17. Then during the rest period from the first series, which would be for at least ten days, use each day for at least thirty minutes the vibrations from the low body-electrical forces of the Radio-Active Appliance. The attachments should be alternated, that is, the right wrist, left ankle; left wrist, right ankle - at least thirty to sixty minutes each day.
18. And use that period, when the Appliance is attached, for meditation; when the body would meditate upon its purposes in the earth, its thanks and praise to the living God; its desires to be the channel for a blessing, for a helpful experience, for the knowledge of God in the life and experience of others.
19. In the matter of the diet, - do take all those foods, whether in breads or cereals, that are reinforced especially with Vitamin B-1 and Iron; these in whatever form that appeals to the body, and in whatever form desired, whether in cooked cereals or the dry preparations, with fruits of any or all characters, but especially those that are yellow in their color.
20. Hence, at least three times a week there should be the grated raw carrots as a portion of the diet; also yellow peaches, also squash and such vegetables and fruits. These will aid in better activities throughout the alimentary canal, with the cleansings that have been indicated both for the alimentary canal and the purifying of organs by the activity of iodine (Atomidine) upon the glands and organs of the body.
21. Of course, the hydrotherapy we would repeat after the rest period; the massage, and another five day period of Atomidine, and then again the rest period - when the Appliance would be taken.
22. These will make for betterments for this body, fitting it for a greater service.

24. (Q) What should I do about pain that often recurs in my left ear?
    (A) This as we find will be removed, for it is a part of those pressures as we have indicated - that are accentuated in the organs of the sensory system. And, with those massages about face and head, and the removal of pressures in the body by the removal of poisons and the proper distribution through their regular channels, these disturbances should be relieved. It is not a local but rather a constitutional disturbance.
25. (Q) Is there any way that I could get along with less sleep than 9 or 9-1/2 hours?
    (A) This can be done by a general training. But at least eight to eight and one-half hours should be the amount of sleep for this body. This may be regulated when the general physical forces and energies of the body are better restored.
26. (Q) After having stopped smoking for years I have fallen back into it and it seems very difficult to stop. Is there any suggestion possible that would help me with mastering it?
    (A) This is not a harmful habit if it is done in moderation. Let this be rather as an example to self, as a proof to self of that concentration as may be had through the periods of meditation when using the Radio-Active Appliance. This will assist the body in creating a proper balance in relationship to any habit in its experience that the entity may desire to correct or to eliminate.
27. (Q) How can I overcome strain and tenseness that makes me taut and interferes with rest? (It undoubtedly has something to do with the fatigue.)
    (A) As just indicated. This has been included in the causes and the corrections for the general conditions. And, as given, these will fit the body for the service it desires to contribute to those activities in this experience.
    The spiritual enlightenment as may come through those periods of meditation will assist the body in making its choice of the service it would give.
    For, today - as given of old - there is set before thee good and evil, life and death; choose thou.

I am most grateful for the outlined treatment and know that it will be of benefit. The only trouble about the Tacoma Park Sanitarium in Washington is that it is so far out and Dr. Reilly suggested another place that was nearer the heart of the city..."
2. 12/21/42 [2800]'s letter: "...I have been very much helped by the use of the Appliance and am continuing it because I seem to have more energy and endurance than for a long time. In your reading for me you didn't mention how long it should be continued, but I assume until one no longer feels the need of it. Sleep is more refreshing to me than before when I used to wake up more weary almost than when I went to bed... The treatment that you suggested for me has done wonders..."
