11/23/42 [
2803]'s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I have wanted to write to you before this to tell you how
deeply grateful I am to you for opening up a new life for
me through your wonderful psychic readings.
Of course, Mr. Cayce, your wonderful work is nothing new
to me for I had heard about you two years ago from [
1710]'s
friend, [B...], and then last year, while spending my
vacation on Virginia Beach, [
1523] told me how much you
helped her and my curiosity was aroused, although I was
skeptical about it until the last minute, when I called on
you to help me after three medical doctors were baffled by
my strange skin condition.
At the time of our first meeting, I had given up hope of
ever being completely well again and lost all faith in life
itself, but now after having both a physical and a life
reading which described my condition and the treatment to
follow and then explaining why I was going through such a
confusing period, my whole life seems to have changed since
and I am ever so happy and feel I will be able to meet any
problem in the future. You instilled faith in God in me once
again for which I am indebted to you, to say nothing of the
fact that my health has been restored, my home life is more
harmonious and life itself is more precious than ever.
Since I left Virginia, many wonderful changes have
taken place. At the head of the list is [
1710]'s and my
forthcoming marriage which will take place the first of the
year and we both have my Dad's blessing which I never thought
possible because of our past conflicts, which my life reading
explained to me. I thank God that you were bestowed with
such a gift for lifting people up spiritually and giving them
new life and pray that God will watch over you and yours,
as that others may know the joys, I have found knowing you,
Mr. Cayce. Your deep understanding of human nature, your
sympathetic leanings and sincerity in all that you say and
do will not be forgotten.
This would indeed be a happier and better world to live in,
instead of having such turmoil and unhappiness, if people
realized that only by doing good and wanting to help others
can one receive deeds instead of being selfish and greedy
for power, bringing destruction to all. If only it were
possible for all to be accessible to the knowledge and key to
happiness you hold for so many. I have tried to pass along
the valuable knowledge my acquaintance with you has brought
in hopes that it would bring others the happiness I have
found spiritually, mentally and physically.
May this letter find you and your family in the best health
and hope I will have the opportunity once again of renewing
our acquaintance soon. I shall write to you again, soon -
Most sincerely [
2803]
11/27/42 EC's ltr. to [
2803]:
Dear [
2803],
To say thank you for yours of the 23rd is putting it very
lightly. To have been of a service to any one as lovely as
you is a real joy, but all the praise and thanks [
2803] is to
Him the giver of all good and perfect gifts. Am happy and
glad for you, and to have been of a help in the physical
matter but most of all in the attitude with others that am
very happy about and am sure it will and does bring joy and
happiness to you. Am sure you have much to do in this cruel
hard world of our to bring joy and light to others that is of
course up to you - but to keep the health and happiness that
has come to you, you must give it out to others.
Do hope before very long will see you hereabout now and then
at least. Am wishing you all the happiness in the world in
your new relationships and am sure you will make some one
else very happy - just remember to keep sweet yourself if you
wish others to keep sweet also.
Do let us hear from you from time to time. And thanking you
for telling me how you feel about it all. Am happy for you
and give all the praise and Glory to the Father in Jesus the
Christ.
With love from all here [signed] Edgar Cayce
