This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 26th day of July, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2803], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will answer the questions regarding this body, as I ask them.
2. EC: Yes, we have those conditions and anxieties that have gradually arisen with the changes which have been wrought in the activities of the body.
3. These are NOT good. There ARE those tendencies for the activity of the liver, especially in the right lobe, to produce excess gastric flows that are depriving the lower portion of the body of the nerve energies - particularly from the lower locomotories.
4. Thus the painful experiences with the organs of the pelvis at periods, as well as the conditions in the lower limbs, knees, and in the calf of the leg. And these contractions cause great pain to the body.
5. We would begin with these:
6. The rubs we would keep up.
7. And we would have, osteopathically, the breaking up of those tendencies for tautness in the sacral and in the lumbar axis.
8. For the liver, for the glands, prepare a Gold Solution and a Bromide of Soda Solution to be taken internally. Keep these separate until the dosage is to be taken. These, of course, are poison, but in the manner taken will be beneficial and not poisonous.
9. The Gold Solution would be one grain of Chloride of Gold to one ounce of distilled Water.
10. The Soda Solution would be four grains Bromide of Soda to one ounce of distilled water.
11. Once each day, put first one drop of the Gold Solution and then two drops of the Soda Solution in half a glass of water, and drink immediately.
12. Keep this up - for at least a whole period - that is from one menstrual period to another.
13. These will change all the activities of the glandular forces in the body, as well as - especially - the activity of the liver.
14. Do put the Castor Oil Packs over the liver area an hour each day for three days. Then take internally half a teacup of Olive Oil. Rest for at least a week, and then do this again.
15. In the periods when there is great pain, paint the pubic center - using a small brush - with a combination of four parts Tincture of Laudanum to one part Aconite. Then apply a heavy pack of salt, heated, in a sack, you see. This will relieve the contraction that is caused in the tubes and the pain through the vagina and the ovum's activity.
16. It will be necessary to obtain from a doctor, or by a doctor's prescription, the four parts of the drug from which morphia is made, and the nitrate combined with same.
17. Gradually these conditions will be relieved by the taking of the properties internally, the corrections osteopathically, and the rubs. But for the first period the pain may be rather severe.

19. (Q) Is there a curvature in my spine?
    (A) There is rather a heaviness, not a curvature. But this is in the area of the sacral and ileac plexus.
20. (Q) Did the automobile accident last March have anything to do with this condition? [7/26/43 Sister-in-law, [1523]'s report on the accident in March referred to, as she also was in the car at the time: "[2803] was thrown forward, her head hitting the windshield and bouncing her back in the seat, thereby apparently injuring or throwing the coccyx out of line. We all went to the osteopath the next day, but no thought or attention was given to the coccyx area."]
    (A) It caused the condition here in the sacral plexus, you see.
21. (Q) How may I regulate my bowel movements without the use of colonics every other day for proper eliminations?
    (A) The activities that have been indicated will change these considerably, but it is better to take the colonics until the general activities are changed. For, the use of the Packs and the oils should purify the system, and thus stimulate the peristaltic movement through the alimentary canal.
22. (Q) What form of exercise would you advise?
    (A) Walking; combined with the regular home work. But walking is the best. But this should be systematic and consistent, and should be done early of morning or late of evening.
23. (Q) Is an operation necessary?
    (A) For what? There's nothing here to be operated for!
24. (Q) Please suggest an affirmation.
    (A) LORD, LET THAT WHICH IS BEST FOR ME - THAT I MAY BE OF THE GREATER SERVICE - BE MY PURPOSE, MY HOPE, AND MY ACTIVITY NOW.

1. 7/22/43 Letter from [2803]:
   "...My legs, back and right side are so achy and are throbbing terribly... [1710] has given me thorough rub with hot towels besides a rub with the vibrator, and even though it has relieved some at times, the pain is unbearable...
   "...When [1710] wired you about six weeks ago for a Check reading for me I hadn't then gone through a series of treatments as my last Check reading suggested, and was so glad that ... requested the opening for Mrs. [1541], for now that I have followed ALL suggestions in my last two readings, and still have a reoccurrence of the same trouble and would like to know why I am troubled so... My legs, back and right side are so achy and are throbbing terribly... [1710] has given me thorough rub with hot towels besides a rub with the vibrator and even though it has relieved some at times, the pain is unbearable... Somehow the faith I have in you and your wonderful work is the only thing that keeps me from resorting to drastic treatments for relief... I have done everything I know to do for relief as your readings suggested and know that a Check reading would answer questions in my mind and relieve my body of periodic pains through any suggestions or treatments you could advise..."

   READING STATES CONDITION SERIOUS RESULTING FROM ACCIDENT. ADVISES MONTH OF COMPLICATED TREATMENTS. WIRE IF YOU CAN COME HERE SO I CAN HELP YOU. OTHERWISE WILL FORWARD NECESSARY INSTRUCTIONS AND EQUIPMENT.
2. 8/10/43 [2803]'s letter:
   "After several months of spasmodic attacks at which time the muscles of my legs and arms would contract causing sharp shooting pains, a reading was attained describing my condition thoroughly, giving cause and the results and complications which set in because of hesitancy in securing a reading sooner.
   "I received my reading on Monday morning, July 26th, and because of a complicated routine, decided to enlist the aid of [1523] in carrying out my treatment in ..., Virginia. The following Monday, August 2nd, I began my series of treatments.
   "Before continuing any further, let me give you a resume of my condition previous to the beginning of my treatments. When I arrived Saturday evening, July 31st in ..., I was cramped up in my legs especially because I had had an attack on the way down, causing my legs to stiffen and harden after a period of contractions in the muscles of my legs. With support, I was able to stand up and walk, for my equilibrium was most uncertain.
   "Monday morning I started off with an osteopathic treatment, which relaxed me so that the nervous tension I felt was relieved. Through the day I had several contractions through my legs, arms and right side causing severe pain. That night [1524] administered hot towels along my spine, then gently massaged my spine and legs.
   "Tuesday, unbelievably, I went through the day without an attack.
   "Wednesday morning I felt so much better, having full control of my legs, not having had an attack for thirty-six hours. Wednesday noon I began to feel weak and my whole body seemed to be engulfed with sharp pains, for my menstrual period had begun five days earlier than was expected. It was an effort to move any part of my body. [1523] immediately set about to apply hot towels on my spine to try to relax me, then with a paintbrush, the pubic area was painted and a Castor Oil Pack was placed on my right side. My whole body seemed to be an upheaval, and I was powerless to help myself.
   "Half an hour after I was settled with a Castor Oil Pack on my right side, all my pain left me and my period followed a very natural course for the first time in four months.
   "That night before retiring, I took internally a combination of one drop of Gold Solution and two drops of sodium solution in half a glass of water.
   "For three days before retiring, [1523] administered hot towels and rubs all over my body, a painting of the pubic area during my period to relieve any reoccurrence of pain, and a Castor Oil Pack on my right side, followed by half a teacup of Olive Oil taken internally.
   "My period was the most comfortable I have ever had, and in a week's period of treatments, I feel like a new person rejuvenated. It is most unbelievable that the treatment prescribed in the reading would give such fast relief during my period."
