This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of September, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [2816], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. HLC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2816].
3. As we find, there are conditions which disturb the body. These arise from poor eliminations, a bad digestion at times, and primarily from a disturbance that has been of long standing and that now, as it were, is requiring toll of the body.
4. These are the conditions as we find them:
5. In times back there was a disturbance in the caecum area. Adhesions have formed there, and these produce poisons or toxic forces in the body, through the effect of this slowing up of the conditions; so that we have neuritic and arthritic tendencies in the body.
6. Hence the stiffness that occurs through hands and arms and portions of the body, the upset stomach at times and nausea. All of these are taking toll of these disturbances that arise in the body.
7. First, in the beginning, we would take each morning before breakfast a heaping teaspoonful of Eno Salts in a glass of water - for ten days.
8. Then leave it off for a week, and begin with taking, each morning before any meal is taken, half a teaspoonful of Fletcher's Castoria, - this with at least two glasses of water. Take this for five days.
9. After the last day of taking the Castoria, take two heaping teaspoonsful of the Eno Salts.
10. Begin then (not before) with applying the Castor Oil Packs for an hour each day over the gall duct and caecum area. Do this for three days straight running, for an hour each day. Put these on as warm as the body can well stand. Have at least three thicknesses of flannel and saturate same, not merely pour it on but saturate the cloth with the hot Castor Oil.
11. After the Packs have been used for three days, take internally two tablespoonsful of Peanut Oil.
12. Throughout the period be mindful as to the diet. Keep away from hog meats.
13. Fish, fowl and lamb may be taken, but none of these fried.
14. Eat plenty of corn bread, beans, cabbage, all leafy vegetables, but not cooked in or with meat. Rather cook the vegetables in plain water, with a little butter or seasoning put on after being cooked, see?
15. Be mindful that not too much coffee or tea is taken.
16. Take at least a glassful of milk each day, preferably at the evening meal. Even if this is warm (not hot but warm), so as to dissolve half a teaspoonful of honey in same, it would be all the better.
17. After these treatments have been taken for cleansing the system, have about two to three - not necessarily more - thorough osteopathic treatments.
18. And we will find there will be better conditions for this body.
19. Be mindful of the diet for a LONG period, - at least six months to a year to two years; and the body will improve and keep better through the period.
20. Ready for questions.
21. (Q) What was the original cause of the adhesions?
    (A) A form of appendicitis.
22. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body at this time?
    (A) Do these, and be consistent. We are through for the present.

REPORTS

1. 10/10/42 He referred Mr. [2827] for a Physical Reading.
2. GD's note: Mr. [2816] reported to Mr. [2051] that the reading described his symptoms completely.
3. 9/29/53 IMG's note: "I talked with Mr. [2816]. He had been very ill, - afraid he was going to die. He has been to two different doctors. I asked him what they said the trouble is and he said they wouldn't tell him what was wrong. He has 'bad dizzy spells', is stiff and aches a great deal. I asked him about his wife [2743] and he said she is 'getting along fine.' I am certain that Mr. [2816] did not use the Castor Oil Packs, but at the time that I talked to him I didn't know what his reading had suggested for him to do. I asked him if he remembered having a reading and he said yes, that he'd gone over it recently but didn't think it had anything in it that would help him now."
4. 9/07/61 IMG's report: "Mr. [2816] is all crippled up with arthritis now, in a wheel chair."
5. 1/20/67 IMG's report: "A few years ago Mr. [2816] had his leg amputated. This became necessary because of sugar diabetes. He is now in a nursing home. His disposition became so bad that they could not keep him at home."
6. 9/20/67 He died, at home.
