10/17/42 [
2822]'s letter to EC: "My dear Mr. Cayce - I am
sorry to have let so much time elapse before acknowledging
and thanking you for the very interesting life reading and
the delay is not to be thought in any way a measure of my
appreciation. Circumstances have conspired against my good
intentions. I was in Albuquerque where the reading came and
somewhere on the way home I acquired ptomaine poisoning and
am just now beginning to feel fit.
"I thought the reading was tremendously interesting. It
certainly explains my love for this part of the country where
I hope I may stay forever. However, you have endowed me with
abilities beyond my self confidence and I am grateful to you
for giving me uplift.
"The brief suggestion you make of the changes in my present
life is correct as to years and fact. I don't see how you do
it.
"My plans have necessarily been upset by my illness but I am
setting forth this week to seek a niche for my abilities. I
hope it can be in the Southwest but if not, I will travel
Eastward and shall hold a hope that I may meet you in person.
"With my grateful thanks for so tangible an expression of
your great gift."
