This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of October, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - [2839], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment., recommended by Miss [1747].

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions that are disturbances with same, - [2839].
3. As we find, there is rather a complication of disturbances, and some of these work hardships upon the others, in making administrations for correction.
4. Thus, these have often proven to be very aggravating to the body.
5. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2839] we are speaking of:
6. First, in the conditions that disturb the body through the digestive system, these are sources of aggravation in the digestion; arising from superacidity that has long existed in the balance in the chemical forces of the stomach itself. And there are lacerations and thickening of the walls of the stomach, especially through the lower portion of the duodenum, and through the orifice where it empties from the stomach to the duodenum.
7. This makes for those irritations in the blood flow that are not eliminated from the body-forces. Thus the toxic conditions affect pulsation, heart's activity, the liver and the kidneys with same. This, combined with the periods in the glandular system, as related to the functionings in the organs of pelvis, produces the great nerve tension.
8. And each of the complications becomes more aggravated through those periods when there is the attempt of the glandular forces to adjust themselves to changes being wrought through the body.
9. As to the effects produced upon the organs of the body, - there are the inclinations for a form of anemia; the effects upon the soft tissue through throat, head, and even through the abdominal area bringing a great deal of gas pains at times. And the whole of the nervous system is then involved; not only through the sympathetic but also the cerebrospinal system.
10. In making suggestions for helpful forces for this body, these complications must be taken into consideration. For, as indicated, while there is the coordination in some respects, much of these disturbances work against one another.
11. We would begin with small doses of Milk of Bismuth, once each day; half a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth with ten drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin stirred together in a full glass of water, or stirred in a little water and then a full glass of water taken afterwards, see?
12. Also begin with the violet ray, hand machine, but use only the rod applicator, for three minutes each day. One day hold the applicator in the right hand. The next day put the applicator on a piece of glass and then set the bare foot (left foot) upon it, for three minutes. The next day hold the applicator in the left hand. The next day set the right foot upon it. And so on, circulate about the body.
13. It is necessary that enemas be used to purify the colon; not too great a quantity of water nor too high enemas used; but if such as the Tyrrell's Elevator were used daily to purify the colon area it would be well.
14. After taking the properties and cleansing the colon, and using the electrical forces for ten days, - then begin with osteopathic corrections; with special reference to those areas where subluxations are indicated - in the lumbar axis area, the 9th dorsal, and from the 2nd and 3rd dorsal to the 1st cervical. These should be relaxing treatments rather than stimulating. Stimulate only that center from which the emptying of the duodenum receives its impulse for activity.
15. Only keep up the enemas through the period when at least six or eight osteopathic treatments would be given, of the nature indicated.
16. A week before the regular Periods, take Tonicine; half a teaspoonful twice each day, - mornings between the morning and noon meals, evenings when ready to retire.
17. After a week's rest from the osteopathic treatments, begin again with about three minutes daily of the violet ray.
18. Then the diet: This should be adhered to rather strictly.
19. Keep away from fats or fried foods.
20. Let the diet be more of milk and milk products. Not that the diet should consist wholly of these, but the principal part.
21. Beef juice may be taken, also sea foods at times, - especially such as oysters or other shell fish; that the iodine of same may be taken with the effect of those cleansings of the stomach through the absorbent principles that we have suggested.
22. These, as we find, offer the better possibilities for help for this body.
23. Do these, being persistent and consistent.
24. Ready for questions.
25. (Q) What causes trouble with the right leg?
    (A) Lack of proper eliminations. Thus the necessity for the eliminating of those accumulations and poisons that produce pressures through the alimentary canal and the abdominal area. Hence the necessity for the corrections, or relaxing of the lumbar areas, when the adjustments are given.
26. (Q) Pains in back of head?
    (A) These arise from this same disturbance, though more from the ducts in the glandular forces. Thus the leaving off of fats in diet.
27. (Q) Don't seem to be able to control my mind -
    (A) These are the general nervous reflexes through the body.
    Do those things as indicated, and we will find improvements for the body.

BACKGROUND

1. 10/28/42 Letter: "I have pains in back of head, also with stomach, burning in stomach, and also have a lot of pain and cramps. Also I have a lot of trouble with my nerves; don't seem to be able to control my mind - it seems as if things just come to me that I am not even thinking of; try so hard to control with no success. I also have female trouble. Lack of strength. I have trouble with my right leg."

   I am very sorry to think I have not written sooner but due to mistake I understood Miss [1747] to say for me not to write till I fully recovered. But talking to her a week ago I saw I had made a mistake. I still have those pains in head and my stomach still bothers me some and also my nerves still are bothering me but they are not as bad as they were. Thanking for the help you have gave [given] me.    Dear Mrs. [2839]
   Thanks for yours of the 28th - glad you are feeling some better, of course it will take a little time for the reactions to come, but would repeat the entire list of suggestions that was made, and see if that doesn't help clear up the conditions.
   Within a month or such matter let me hear from you again and if you are not worlds better will check up on the condition and see what is the trouble, but take another complete course of that suggested at first.
