1/26/43 HLC's letter to Mr. [
437]:
Mr. [
437]
New York, N.Y.
Dear Mr. [
437]
The reading for [
2873] yesterday was not encouraging for the
plan of having the treatments followed in Florida. You will
remember that I wrote you about some of the background on the
suggestion that Reilly there in New York handle the case for
the first few weeks.
You are dealing not only with a physical condition but also
one that has psychological repercussions. The combination
of massage, corrections, Wet Cell Appliance and positive
suggestions is important.
Even if Townsend can be secured in Florida she will not be
as good as Reilly. It would require only a few weeks there
in New York - and if complete results are expected the
original suggestions had best be followed.
I did not discuss this matter further with you because I
hoped that the second reading would indicate that the plan
suggested by Mrs. [
2090] would be just as satisfactory.
The second reading did not do this.
We are anxious, as you know, that everyone get the greatest
possible benefit from the reading. As I understand the
readings, this will not be possible in Florida in [
2873]'s
case.
I have written Mrs. [
2090] and I hope she can be persuaded
to change her plans. A few weeks in New York and Florida
trip will be most suitable.
Regards from all.
Sincerely,
2/01/43 Mr. [
437]'s letter:
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Judge:
I have your letter of the 27th and two letters from Hugh Lynn
dated the 26th and 28th.
I have talked with Mrs. [
2090] and I doubt that they will be
able to come to New York for the treatments, but will have
to do the best they can in Florida and perhaps reverse the
procedure - come to New York after the trip to Florida.
I have not had a copy of of the second reading and do not
know what it advises, but judging from the first it does not
necessarily follow that Reilly is the only one who can give
these treatments, and as far as the psychological aspects of
the situation are concerned, I feel convinced that [
2873] now
feels that he has not sustained a permanent injury and is
therefore bound to improve mentally...
Sorry to hear about Gladys and her mumps.
Give my best to Hugh Lynn and my best to Mrs. Cayce and
yourself.
Sincerely [
437]
2/25/43 "[
2873], according to the reports that I have
received, is doing very well and some time after he reaches
home sometime next month I think we should have a ck. rdg.
on him."
