Time and Place: 4:00 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Ohio.

GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2899].
In giving the causes or sources of the disturbances, while we find there are pathological conditions that might become rather serious, the sources of these begin rather in the psychological reactions - and the suppressions that have been produced in the body.
These in turn affected, and do affect, the body-physical.
If there will be, then, definite applications AND the changing of attitudes, and the reverse of self-condemnation, we may bring normal conditions to this body.
On the other hand, if there is the continued self-depression, self-condemnation, it may become rather a serious physical disturbance.
These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [2899] we are speaking of:
Through the digestive forces of the body we find that the liver and the spleen activity have become torpid in their activity, through suppression AND condemnation in same. Hence certain characters of foods become very hard of digestion. Little of fats will digest at all. And the suppressions cause the duct, that controls the activity of the emotions, to produce a drawing, and aching - from the upper portion of the chest, on the right side, to the gall duct and even to the caecum area; and the inability for the full use at times even of the arm on that side.
The lack of interest in activities becomes the effect of the suppressions throughout the body.
All of the emotions of the body are suppressed. Thus there is a form of glandular reaction; and irregularity in the Periods. And these all combined are those disturbances as we find them with this body.
In making applications for helpful forces, - first, do not condemn self. For, He condemns not. Only as self condemns self does this bring, for this body, those toxic reactions of such a nature as to make the body less companionable in the home, less effective in its activities and associations with others.
DO enter more into a helpfulness in EVERY manner to others.
DO have those corrections made, osteopathically; at least eight to ten to twelve, and even in the beginning work toward setting up a better drainage. Do not in the first attempt to drain the gall duct, but do in the latter portions of the treatments drain the gall duct osteopathically.
Do begin with the diets that carry more of iodine in the body.
Do take occasionally, at least three days a week, two drops of Atomidine in half a glass of water before the morning meal.
Do take the study of the spiritual forces, and apply self in helpful forces to others.
Do these, and we will bring bettered conditions for the body.
This is an outline as to diet, though this, to be sure, is not all that would be taken - rather as a sample:
Mornings - toast, or milk toast, dry toast or milk toast, or change about from day to day with eggs or cereals, but not all at once, see? Some fruit, or citrus fruit, - as grapefruit juice, oranges and the like, a little very crisp bacon once or twice a week would be well.
Noons - one or two raw vegetables; carrots, celery and lettuce. These should be a part of the diet each day, some one or more of these; with vegetable soups or broths of various kinds. All or any of these.
Evenings - vegetables; not too much of the dried beans or the like, and not fat meats cooked with same. Cabbage, red as well as the green. Yams, but not too much of white potatoes, though occasionally these may be taken.
Plenty of stewed fruits; as prunes or peaches, apples or the like.
Do these, as we find, and with the other or general conditions, we will make for bettered forces for this body.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Can I bear any more children; if so, would you advise me to do so?
(A) Not until those corrections have been made, and then it will be seen that this may be possible, if so desired.
(Q) Are my teeth bad?
(A) Natural suppression, and - as indicated from properties given - these are soft, and need some local attention. As we find, unless these cause immediate disturbance, it would be better to have same fixed or attended to after at least two or three weeks of the periods of taking the Atomidine.
(Q) What causes large pimples or skin most of the time?
(A) Poor eliminations, as will be particularly aided when drainages are set up better and there are better eliminations by the draining the gall duct.
(Q) Why excess fat on stomach, no fat on any other part of body?
(A) This is partly a prenatal condition, but with those corrections these should disappear to a great extent, and especially when more activity is taken in getting about or going places more.
(Q) What causes extreme tiredness and nervousness at all times and bad headaches at times?
(A) Liver condition, - toxic forces through the body.
(Q) Any spiritual advice?
(A) Read especially the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of John, and apply it as being said to self. Know there are those influences, "As ye would that others should do to you, do ye even so to them," as He indicates in those admonitions outlined.
Do keep that attitude of helpfulness, for as ye do it unto others, ye do it unto thy Maker.
Look not upon things as past, but NOW. For now there are the opportunities, not only for the help in the home but in the associations with others.
We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

1/11/43 Letter: "I have a problem that I think you can help me with. My mother died in July and I can't get back on my feet. At the time of her death I took it very well, but the longer it goes on the more miserable I get. Just before Xmas I was so distressed I was really sick. I prayed for help to try and get over the worst part of it, and when I just couldn't stand any more, [1747] brot me your book to read. As soon as I started to read it, I was easier. It seems to me that this is the way my prayer was answered. I did my mother an injustice and I have worried about it ever since. In your book again and again it says about your ability to see people after they have gone on. I don't know if this is still possible with you or not, but if my mother can see me writing this letter I'm sure she will try to help me. Can you ask her to forgive me for what I did and give me some message from her? If I thought she was around me at times I think I could stand it. She also seemed to be trying to tell me something just before she died. Try to help me if you can, but if you can't just reading your book and writing you this letter has helped. You are the only person outside of [1747] that wouldn't think I was insane to even think about such a thing. I am also writing for a Physical and have absolute faith that if I can be helped you can do it."

Dear Mr. Cayce
I selected Jan. 22 for my reading because that seemed to come in my mind when filling out the blank. It is my 31st birthday. My husband [2518] approves of this reading but doesn't know when it is to be because if my ailments are serious I would not want to worry him.
Questions. Can I bear any more children, if so would you advise me to do so? Are my teeth bad, soreness at times makes me wonder. What causes pain or ache in entire right side at times, starting at under arm down almost to thigh? What causes extreme tiredness and nervousness at all times and bad headaches at times. What causes large pimples on skin most of the time. Why excess flab on stomach no flab on any other part of body. I will do everything in my power to cooperate with you and have great faith in your work.

Dear Mr. Cayce
Enclosed you will find a money order for ten dollars to pay for my husband's [2518]'s check reading. He is much better and his hands are beginning to clear up. I want to thank a thousand times for what you have done for both of us. About myself, I am ten thousand times better physically I haven't felt as well as I do now since my baby was born nine years ago, but I am still fighting that mental depression and lost feeling. I want to make an appointment for myself for a check reading whenever it is possible and the following are questions I want answered please.
1. Is there anything special I can do to fight that mental depression and lack of interest in life? 2. Should I have any more osteopathic treatments? 3. What causes heavy growth of hair on chin, and as it looks terrible what can I do for this? 4. Is the Atomidine doing the work it should and shall I continue to take it? 5. Are my gland's functioning any better so that my weight will become normal and is there anything further I can do to help this? 6. Are gall bladder, bursae and spleen better, also check kidneys? 7. Still have quite a bit of distress at my menstrual period what can I do for this? 8. Can't seem to cooperate physical[ly] or mentally with husband, what can I do for this?
I am not financially able to send the ten dollars for my check reading at the present time but by the time I have my reading I will be able to do so, if this is satisfactory with you. I want to thank you again for what you have done for us wish there was something I could do in return.

Dear Mr. Cayce
Enclosed you will find five dollars toward my check reading, the rest of it I will send about Oct. 5. My date for my check treading is made for Oct. 6 from 3:30 to 4:30 that date is satisfactory to me. The questions will be the same ones I sent you when I made the appointment I wonder if you could tell me just how to make the solution of Atomidine for ear irrigation and nasal spray. There are no instructions with the Atomidine except for gargle. I would also like to have instructions for a reading for my little girl, she is nine years old. Shall I fill out instructions blank or should it be in her hand writing? Also how much does a reading for a child cost. Also please send me some application blanks several if you can. My husband's hands are completely cleared up and he is feeling much better physically and putting on some weight [copied into 2518-3, Par. R2]. I am a thousand fold better all thanks to you and my faith in God. I will be at my home ... on Oct. 6, 3:30 to 4:30 for my reading.
