4/09/43 Gladys Davis' letter to [
2900]:
"Yours of the 4th, with $5.00 enclosed on your account, was
received in due time.
"I am sorry the lead regarding the cosmetic business did not
mean anything, but it was just a suggestion - as I thought it
was the TYPE thing the reading referred to. However, there
must be many such places needing help, especially during the
present emergency when so many women have entered war work.
"It would not seem advisable to get another reading,
especially since your Life Reading was so definite as to the
type work you should do. The readings are for the purpose
of setting us on the right track, not for the purpose of
deciding every minute detail of our lives. They are supposed
to help us make the right decisions, by setting a standard to
go by. I do hope you will continue to follow every lead that
might point to the type work mentioned for you, for I am sure
when you get into it you will be happier in that work than in
any other you have ever done.
"We are simply swamped with appointments for Readings since
the book came out, and I suppose we can't expect that to
get any better - toward letting up, I mean. I just hope Mr.
Cayce can keep well and able to meet the demand of the more
urgent cases; we can't expect him to be able to answer every
single request that comes now. We who have already received
our guidance are indeed fortunate, and I do trust you will
make every effort to follow your Readings in detail, for it
is only in doing so that you will get results desired.
"If any other opening, or possible lead comes my way, or to
my attention, I will certainly let you know.
"With kindest regards and best wishes, I am"
Sincerely, Gladys Davis
