GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2965].
As we find, there are conditions that are disturbing to the better physical functioning. And without the corrections of same, they may cause any number of disturbances that may grow much worse than conditions which now exist.
In times back, we find, there was a great deal of disturbance in the eliminations. And to some extent, until this began to give trouble, the body was inclined to be neglectful in this respect.
Hence there has been produced, in the ascending colon, a plethoric condition that is the source of most of the disturbance.
This has produced those lacks of proper assimilation, so that most foods at one time or another disagree with the body, and they form a great deal of gas - after most every meal.
Of course, this hinders the proper elimination, and it comes and goes - because, of course, when there is the flushing of the system it eases the condition for a little while. Yet there are the inabilities to gain strength as the body should, or to resist the long hours; the body becomes overnervous, irritable, and lacking in the abilities to carry on. Nausea exists at times; dull, sick headaches, pains especially through the shoulders and upper part of the body, as well as at times a heaviness through the lower portion of abdomen.
With these toxic conditions, and some old disturbances, there is irritation also in the prostate area. This may become very serious unless measures are taken to eliminate the sources of this disturbance.
A heaviness around the heart at times is experienced, oft a bad taste in the mouth, at times offensive in the breath.
All of these are the effects.
The toxic condition as produced is also gradually undermining the abilities of the gastric flows in the stomach to produce proper digestion, as well as producing a taxation to the liver and to other portions of the body.
As we find, what would be MOST needed would be hydrotherapy treatments. However, considering those that may be had in the body's present environment:
Under the direction of such as Thompson we would have at least two or three colonic irrigations. These should be not too close together, but should be continued until there is little or no mucous indicated in the eliminations from the system.
Also three times a week, at least, have a thorough, gentle relaxation. If this is done late of evenings, it will be found that the dinner would agree better with the body, and the body would rest better.
But these must be kept up - the colonics and the massage - until there is the proper distribution of energies and the reducing entirely of that plethora in the colon - the ascending and a portion of the transverse.
Do that, and we will find bettered conditions.
Through the periods when these treatments are being followed, not too much of heavy foods; especially not too great an abundance of such as heavy, leafy vegetables, or too much of potatoes or the like. But rather use broths, soups, fish or lamb as meats (though not fried) or fowl; cereals, milk and the like. These may be taken; not too much, but getting rid of these troubles will prevent a great deal of disturbance later on; which would affect heart, liver, lungs, kidneys and - most of all - the prostate trouble.
Do that.

(Q) Is it bad for my trouble having to take some kind of active medicine every day?
(A) This is about what has been saving the body! But the colonics, if they are taken pretty regularly, should prevent having to take too much cathartics.
(Q) What kind of cathartic is best, when I have to take one?
(A) Sal Hepatica, Bromo-Seltzer, or the like.
(Q) Is cigarette smoking harmful to me?
(A) When the nerves are on edge, or when the body becomes weak or trembly, a cigarette helps - and yet causes pains through portions of the abdomen. In moderation smoking is alright, but not too much.
Do these things as indicated - DO THEM NOW! - and we will get rid of these disturbances.

3/19/43 Letter: "I will appreciate if you can give this reading as soon as possible and when you do to let me know what my condition is called. I have tried a number of doctors and they do not seem to remedy my trouble."
4/04/43 Questions:
1. What is the condition of my stomach, liver, kidneys and lower bowels? 2. Is prostate gland affected? 3. What causes extreme nervousness, and feeling in head at times as if half drunk? 4. Is a strict diet to be followed by me; if so, give specific instructions, which foods to stress and which to avoid? 5. How long should I follow this treatment? 6. Is it bad for my trouble, having to take some kind of active medicine every day? 7. What is suggested for the eliminations? 8. Why do I suffer with gas on the lower part of bowels every day? Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Your information received also your kind letter which I thank you very much. There are a few question regarding the reading that I would like some information. It in reading you stated most needed would be colonic irrigations under the direction of Dr. Thompson. There is not a colonic irrigation system here and would like to know would it be best to take these irrigations with the regular machine for this purpose or use a regular enema with a COLON TUBE. Dr. Thompson is not prepared to do this type work in his office. I have taken several of the colon irrigations but there seems not to be any mucous indicated from the system. Will appreciate this information as soon as possible that I might carry out all instruction from reading.

Dear Mr. [2965]
Thanks for yours of the 27th - seems almost like ... is backward - for there not to be some one there who uses the Colonics. Think you should have one or two, maybe more, of the colonics scientifically given. Thing that is worth doing is worth doing right and if there is a right way then there is a wrong way. While I suppose the best for any one to use them selves is, Dr. Tyrells Elevator [Dr. Tyrrell's Elevator].
Believe [779] has one of these and can tell you how and where you can get one, but believe from the information Mr. [2965], that is something as is needed for you. Of course I may be all wrong, am sure Dr. Thompson can give you the massage as is necessary, but would arrange to get the colonics some way, and get them properly given even if you have to go to Montgomery to get them.
Do hope you will soon be feeling lots better, then.

I noticed in your last bulletin the Oct 1st was the delinquent on paying dues in association. I have been needing a psycial reading for some time and would like to know if there is a possibility of getting one the near future. I enjoy the bulletin very much from the association, however, I feel that I need the reading at present more than any thing. Would appreciate Miss Davis if you will let me know as soon as possible regarding this, that I might continue to be a member of the association. I am have trouble with my stomach and it seems that all the Dr. I have been to do not help me. Thanking very much for an early reply.
