Dear Mrs. Turner,
Thank you for sending a copy of my reading that was dated
April 26, 1943 and numbered Case [
2978]. Here are the
replies to your recent letter asking for information.
1.) The reading was, indeed, accurate. At that time I had
tuberculosis of the lungs, hip and wrist. 2.) The state of
my health was not too good. 3.) I'd had many operations over
a period of six years, mostly to collapse the right lung.
Ten ribs had been totally removed, and a severe tuberculosis
empyema still existed. This, I believe, is what Mr. Cayce
was describing as the scars in the lining of the chest
itself. At the time of the reading an immediate operation
was scheduled for the left wrist - it was an unusual
diagnosis of a possible hematogenous spread. It was decided
that removal of the wrist infection might bring about
spontaneous healing of a lung cavity. The operation was done
and the lung did heal immediately. Since then I have had no
more operations for tuberculosis.
Unfortunately I did not apply the suggestions in the reading
because of circumstances a bit beyond my control at that
time.
I have been well for the last eleven years and have been
working as a writer.
I hope this information will "help those planning to do
research on these records." I'd be enormously interested in
hearing about the work of the Foundation, and I hope you will
add my name to any mailing list you may have, designed to
keep people informed about publications, meetings, etc.
Please let me know if you'd like any more information on this
case. I will, of course, be glad to supply any details you
feel might be helpful.
Very sincerely yours, [

Dear Mrs. Turner,
Many thanks for sending to me so quickly the extracts of the
Edgar Cayce Readings and "God's Other Door". I wonder if
you would now be good enough to send me two more membership
applications (to be given to people I feel will be
particularly interested) and three more copies of "God's
Other Door". $25.00 Ext. Book $25.00 Active mem.
I have enclosed a check for $100. I believe this will cover
this material, and what is left over represents a little
contribution on my part expressing appreciation of the
exciting and difficult work you are doing.
Cordially, [
