Gentlemen: RE: FILE ON PARKINSON'S DISEASE
*I wish to request your help in this matter - we had the
original File on P.K. sent to us in 1968. I asked for it a
second time only because it was indicated on the latest
"List" sent me that it had been reworked.
My sister is taking the new medication, El Dopa, and since
Dr. McGarey is researching the use of Castor Oil Packs, I
purchased a copy of the Booklet "Edgar Cayce & the Palma
Christi". I received it, together with other purchases from
A.R.E. Press after requesting the Library File. I think it
answered my questions regarding the use of the Packs while
making use of other medication prescribed by her Medical
Doctor (but we would not mention same to her doctor).
*If you think our findings would be of use to Dr. McGarey,
please add a note to that effect with my File Request Card
when you return it. Or forward this letter to him.
We used the Castor Oil Packs on her abdomen and on her lower
back, as well as a series of Chiropractic Adjustments, during
1969 into 1970. The Dr. of Chiropractic x-rayed her lower
spine and found a curvature to the left, causing the left leg
to be longer, pulling up the right, causing difficulty in
walking. Her medical doctor never has taken such an x-ray as
he seems to feel her imbalance is due to a broken hip in 1967
and a heart attack in 1968 - all traceable to the Parkinson's
Disease. However, after we started using the Castor Oil
Packs he did seem to "scratch his head" over the fact that
she did not worsen more rapidly, and at one time wondered
"out loud" about the situation. (Prior to use of L. Dopa.)
I eliminated the Packs when she began the other medication in
July 1970 as I feared one might interfere with the other.
However, with Dr. McGarey's findings as shown in the Palma
Christi booklet, I have resumed giving her these treatments,
three days a week, and she says they help eliminate a
constipation problem. I have not resumed chiropractic
treatments for the same reason, though I cannot see that they
would be detrimental.
Am returning the File on Alcoholism, for which I thank you.
Sincerely yours, Ann R. Moore
